On her first german tour in 1995 Alanis played really small venues. This concert in Baden-Baden was kind of a showcase gig on a "newcower" festival, organized and hosted by SWF3 (now SWR3), a big mainstream radio station in southern germany. This explains the lame audience, maybe there weren't many real fans there, but rather ordinary radio listeners, who just came to the "event" and not to see a specific band.

The TV announcer mentions that the ticket price for this show was 15 DM (~ 7,66 EUR). Those were the days...

i will be a 48 grown up man this summer. i knew her music in real time (1995) but forgot about her somehow. but now these past weeks i just fell in love with her. music also is good LOL. i listened to her "jagged" album repeatedly and now pouring thru youtube like crazy, Thank you alanis for your great music. I love you!
Talk about someone baring their soul for the world to see. The way she moves and sings, you can tell she is literally in a trance. Such a unique voice and artist and a hell of a performer.

Ich frage mich, ob die Zuhörer damals bereits wussten, was für eine Perle sie da gesehen haben? Wäre ich dabei gewesen, hätte ich zuvor vermutlich keine großen Erwartungen gehabt, aber das Konzert hätte mich weggepustet!

I remember those few months when alanis seemed to be the only music on the planet ...
Taylor said in an interview once that looking back to when he was in Alanis's band, he thought he was doing to much in live shows. When I heard him saying it i thought how could that be? Watching this, i can see what he meant. It does seem quite busy. So glad he found a home with foo fighters. Would be fun to revisit them on stage again as a one off tho. Has it ever happened? Idk.

Cool. This couldn't have been too long after they recorded the album. Not many 95 gigs out there are there? It's a wonderful document. I listen to it regularly despite the talking in-between the songs. Maybe someone could do a just the song version.
I am biased about the nineties as I became a teenager then but I still think the music at that tineis astounding. What do you think?
At the time I was told that her band we session players brought together just for the album and the live stuff wasn't nearly as good but this has been proven completely wrong. I should have gine to see her. Sheryl Crow's self titled album was also a winner and was on the otherside of a cassette I made at the time. It got a heck of a kot of play.
I think the kimited views of this are because alanis' own you tube channel puts out lots of new performances which trump the oldones in searches.
If always loved all have a reason. Shoukd have been a single. Maybe although there were so many hits on the record.

Taylor Hawkins turned this band into a rock band, its funny that his energy totally effects the left guitarist and therefore effects Alanis
That's Jesse Tobias that played with RHCP for awhile, so he has a ton of energy himself. Same goes for Chris Chaney on bass that plays with Jane's Addiction and is one of the top bassists I'd say. The band was hand-picked by Alanis because she wanted it to be rock live.
