Yay! Finally, professional effects tutorial! I want to get out of Premiere before I even get into it! 7:40 cool and good! also pls tutorial how to make screen shake and deep fried memes
When I use transform I can no longer see the red dot or red rectangle on the monitor. How can I restore it? EDIT: Just found the answer, for anyone else having this issue. It's the little button next to the fast forward button, under the monitor.
Before this tutorial, I had heard about keyframes in video editing but had no clue how to use it. It's almost amazing how much I got to learn in this 8 minutes. How would you compare Kdenlive to DaVinci or Hitfilm? Although, my current video editing requirements are more basic. I'm thinking of openshot or shotcut. What would you suggest?
As a beginner, I found Resolve too complex for me, and unstable on my 8 year old laptop. I really liked HitFilm. It was capable with a full set of features, but it too would crash doing the simplest operations (e.g. dragging a clip to the timeline). Also many effects were watermarked unless you purchased the paid version. So I finally settled on Kdenlive. Stable, great set of features, something I can understand, and free. I've also used Premier Elements (the junior version of Premier Pro). It was stable but missing features I wanted. I stay away from subscription software.
When rendering with rotation and crop, It aways has this transparent boarder that doesnt show on the previes. Does anyone have a good reasoning as to why this happens? This happened on a new project with mine and both rotations had this despite one having the inital video resolution and the other not
That's only.possoble through the title editor, but you do have to open that window. You can click the "show background" checkbox to see where to place the text though !
I recently downloaded many transitions in Kdenlive Add-On Installer. but i can not find them in effect/composition tab. Can anyone tell me where i found those transitons?? please help
When you set a key frame, the icon will be either a square, circle, or diamond. This is dependent on how smooth the transform will be when applied. To access the interpolation menu (in version 22.08.3) click on the keyframe icon, then click on the arrow beneath the timeline in the effects properties box and select "Keyframe Interpolation".
@@TheLinuxEXP does the software still have bugs like crashing or cant put anything on the vid 1 vid 2? Because i cant put both image and video in it.and when i random clicked a button i can put images in but it instantly crashed
On my version 22.08.3, you need to click on the clip which has the applied effect, then the properties box will open. Make sure your playback head is positioned over the clip so you can see your applied changes. Also as mentioned by TheLinuxExp, you may need to enable it in the "view" menu.
The transform effect, like all the others, stretch or shrink to match the length of the clip. You will need to set key frames to control where in the clip the effect will be applied.
Yeah, it took a few days to get used to only dragging the video portion of a clip in the timeline, and the reordering of the effects, but it's been working great for me
It has potential to be better, but it can't do half of what I need it to, and it's extremely unstable at the moment. Once they have a first stable release, with as many effects available as Kdenlive does, then I'll definitely consider using it :)
Almost every effect I use is keyframable, the transform effect alone can do a lot, blur, rotate, all of them supports keyframes. Audio effects too. Nested timeline should be coming but to be honest, I never felt like I needed it for what I do. Might be different for people working on longer projects though
Not sure about that one, I don't use much color correction since I mostly do screencasts that don't require it. I don't think the Curves effect supports keyframes, but that's not the only one available in Kdenlive.
Thank you so much for this series it has helped me so much if kdenlive.
You're welcome ! Glad it helped !
Waitting for color correction!!!!
Beautifully made tutorial. Well edited, narrated and straight to the point! Thanks!
Thank you :)
Wow your channel keeps getting better
Thanks :) I try !

Perfect, thank you for your tut, so let me ask you how you make the transition @3:14?

But how can we limit the duration of an effect? I am having a hard time getting a simple blur box to not blur the entirety of the video track.

I'm using Resolve now, and I'd say with GPU acceleration, and a better titling tool, Kdenlive would be a good contender for it

Hey mate nice video as usual! GJ Can you make video about color corection/grade it what I miss the most.
Thanks, it's on my list :)
Nick, thanks for the video!!
Has anyone tried the Olive Video Editor? Some people says it runs better than kdenlive
I tried it and it clearly doesn't for me, yet
Where do you get the stock background video
Great video, thanks!
Thank you :)
hello. do you have a video explaining how to save templates for texts ? like you did here with the effects, thanks"!"
Make a first impression video on Olive.
I will when it's more stable
Very nice tutorial! Thank you
Thanks :)
Let me know what you want to see next :)

No problem !
I think the video title could be a bit more descriptive, like that it's about KDENLive ;-)
Damn you're right, I forgot to change it before uploading...
@@TheLinuxEXP No worries. You fixed it :-)

nice tutorial, thanks
The handle doesnt appear in the middle
Congratulations, your content is very good.
Thanks a lot :)
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Can you kindly make a video to show how to have an audio waveform effect in kdenlive ?
are there ways to invert the images on their axis?
The "Rotate and Shear" effect can do this, as well as "Flip Horizontally" and "Flipo".
Thank you thank you!!!! 🤩
Have you shared those customized .PGM by any chance?
Yes, all my custom wipes and all my video rushes are available to my Patreon supporters :)
cant believe this is free!! thanks!
thanks
awesome!
hey, I am fairly new in Kdenlive, I dont get those red moveable rect transform in the screen, can anybody help me ??

how change clip format
why does my transform doesnt have red border to adjust the size?
You need to have the effect selected in the properties panel. Just click on your transform effect and you'll get it :)

Tutorial project sources link doesn't work.
Yeah, the video is very old, and the account where these were hosted has been shut down a while ago
Bro.... You use Zorin OS ads... For this
Thank youu
You're welcome !
how to set the transform effect time ??
The transform effect, like all the others, stretch or shrink to match the length of the clip. You will need to set key frames to control where in the clip the effect will be applied.
my trasnform effect is broken

What is the gnome theme you are using?
Matcha sea
Nice 👍
Thanks :)
Can you rotate clips on it's axis?
Yes, I explain it in the video :) X rotates from left to right, Y rotates forwards or backwards and Z rotates around the vertical axis of the clip
Yes, at least 3 effects can do this in addition to the one used in this video. Type "flip" in the effects search box.
This is 3 years old, so I hope the team took some time to overhaul the UI for keyframing, because this looks like SHIT to use for keyframing.
Please switch back to kdenlive cause know it has hardware acceleration in render in nightly builds.
I’ll try it, but if it’s not in the stable release, no way I’m using it on a day to day basis :)
cool
Thank you :)
