89-94 Ewing should be talked about more. He had style and had the stat to prove it. one would have to say that Olajuwon stood out more in the 94 finals but it went seven games and the Knicks were in it for most of it in game seven despite John Starks. It was a legit a series as any but Kenny seems to have forgotten that.

@@ninowaves4061 The Knicks' small ball lineup helped them beat the Pacers in the ECF when Ewing was injured so they prolly don't even get to the finals with Ewing. He was old at that time. The biggest reason the bulls got beat in 1995 by magic in the playoffs and swept them in return the next yr is because of addition of Dennis rodman. Can't believe Kerr didn't mention that. Also Horace grant was out during the magic bulls series in 1996 except for the first game. The interior presence was far more crucial back then than in today's games

grant wouldn't have changed the result. more than having rodman, what bulls had was way better chemistry than they did the season before. when MJ came back, only pippen and BJ were part of the 1993 roster. no one else knew how to play with MJ yet and with just 17 games left, the bulls had no time to learn how to play as a team.

We naturally associate toughness and physicality with defense (not pretty, grunt work), and associate offense with aesthetics and grace (poetry in motion). A defense first team (Detroit, early Spurs, and Knicks) usually was characterized as being tough and usually was a villain-like character compared to offensive teams (Bulls, Magic, to a lesser extent Rockets) who were favorites.

@THE Rattler Ewing ain't Olajuwon tho, and Ewing took them to games 6 and 7 by himself! And I meant 2-6 in the early 90's but that don't even matter cuz Olajuwon was 11-5 against Jordan for their first 9 seasons! It was their styles that made Olajuwon Jordans cryptonite, he made Jordan 1 dimensional and on the other end he was completely unstoppable even with double and triple teams! When Phil had the balls to double Olajuwon, he was averaging like 7 assists a game passing off the dribble and passing after jumping to shoot! Jordans game was drive to the basket for a dunk or layup and pull up mid-range over the smaller defender! Olajuwon owned the paint from all the way out to about 17ft from any direction and he would block jump shots not just layups! Not only that he would get like 4 steals a game on the Bulls and even if he didn't get the block he changed every players layup about 50% of the time! And since Jordan already took about 25 shots a game, he would have to take 30 shots against the Rockets so nobody else could kill them while focusing on Jordan. Don't forget Jordan avg like 35p on the Rockets but he usually lost by double digits! I'm not making this shit up

Someone noticed from those 97-98 teams. I didnt feel that Malone was the weak link.
Someone said that the reason that the Jazz lost to Chicago those 2 finals was because besides Malone, they didnt have a lot of big guys that can play and the defense had the worst matchups.
Hornacek guarding Pippen. Russell on Jordan. Osterbag sucked and if they had other good bigmen off the bench to play defense besides Malone. They probably beat the Bulls.
Stockton and Malone were doing everything most of the time.

AL bro do you realize how hard it is to win a ring? let alone 2 or 3 back to back??. i think jordan winning 6 rings back to back to back no losses was mainly Skill equated with Luck. legitimately all it takes is one person, one player to say something along the lines of ‘look as long as im on this court. im winning a championship, mike or no mike out there’ because in all actuality its all a mindset look at the best players dead or alive.
