St. Mary Le Bow in Cheapside, City of London, is one of the the cockney churches of London from the rhyme Oranges and Lemons.
It is said that this was the bell that prompted Dick Whittington to return to London and become Mayor. It was designed by Sir Christopher Wren and sounded the curfew of London.

Excellent video
Joolz Guides are a breff o' fresh air to us Cockneys !! Always educational and informing
The sound recording of the Bow Bells at 0:34 comes from Steven Rowe's video of them ringing in the belfry.
I think his video has done rather better than mine! Sounds like a lot of fun what you do. I was sad I didn't get to make a video about the Whitechapel Bell Foundry before it closed. I guess you must have been there.
Brilliant video as usual,
Love the pic of Del Boy! Love that show and this vid! Thanks!
Altho DelBoy is from saarf London, so not a cockney ;-)
Great grandparents were married there
Love the Chaz and Dave
Mum was born within the bow bells
Blimey!
Excellent Jules, looking good , clean shaven , you need a black and white ascot , grey vest and black and grey trousers.I am going to visit London in the spring and I want to take a tour with your corporation, in the meantime give me your address , where I can send you some Pounds Sterling , after all the holiday season is just around the corner.Take care, all the best from a loyal fan.
Sir Chas n Sir Dave!! Proper geezers but not cockney's!
Being a cockney myself I do enjoy yr vids, But DelBoy is from saarf london so not a cockney ain’t Chez n Dave from up North so again not cockneys.... I love yr vids tho

Couldn't hang around for clock to strike or the bells to ring eh?
Sad little un-rearched vignette
You left ou "when i grow rich, say the bells of Shoreditch....when will that be, say the bells of Stepney?...i do not know, say the great bells of BOW.....Here is a candle to light you to bed....here comes a chopper to chop of yer ead.....get it right geez....or nick orf....and "gore blimey"...means "gawd(god) blind me"....china !.
Yes, this was when I was still doing short, 2 minute videos. I guess there wasn't time. Perhaps I should re-visit that rhyme!! Great idea. Cheers!!!!
I always thought they hadn't rang since Gerry bombed em mate hence no more cockneys since they stopped ringing. You seen Micky Flannagans cockney woowlk moy san ? ruclips.net/video/AvqhRdwRL_U/видео.html
That's genius. Actually I was basing it on Lee Mack!
tommy there were a ring of 12 mostly cast by Gillett and Johnston of Croydon which were only in the tower for a few years before they got bombed in the war. The metal was saved and they were recast into a new 12 by Mears and Stainbank of the Whitechapel bell foundry in 1956
I rang them 2 years ago so they're still ringing
In the flush of the hot June prime,
O’er sleek flood-tides afire,
I hear him hurry the chime
To the bidding of checked Desire;
Till the sweated ringers tire
And the wild bob-majors die.
Could I wait for my turn in the godly choir?
(Shoal! ’Ware shoal!) Not I!
That man looks like a brother of Nigel Farage
Is that Nigel Farage singing Oranges and Lemons?
I'm now beginning to believe it really is! Everyone keeps saying!
