- "Displacement effects" is anything that makes an enemy change their route. - Any card that strengthens the later effect makes enemies travel further in the changed direction. - Weak Gravity benefits melee cards, strong Gravity benefits ranged cards. - Continous traps like fire or the sawblade work best with anything that pushes enemies back or make them stay longer, so traps further down only activate with the stronger foes, not the fodder.
Orcs must ex-Spire. That first hit on second level is because two enemies moved on the plate, the one behind was off-center enough to get yeeted across on the land.
@@Retromationthe first time you got hurt was from the spike pushing someone up as they got spring boarded. They didn't land in the water but right next to the goal
This look cool as heck. I'm definitely going to check out the demo. You're right about the free space of the map though. It's really restricted and does limit the scope of wacky builds but maybe they expand the scale in the full game possibly...? Thank you for the cool gameplay showcase as always Reto!
Oh, you can check out the special wall trap in CD 2: Trap Master Demo, with this trap, you can literally change the map as you like, the trick is keeping those pesky monsters from destroying it. I personally like this trap and I will recommend you to have a try! 👾
I think there's real promise for mixing roguelike deckbuilders with other genres. I wish there were more doing slow, strategic card draw systems like Magic/Hearthstone instead of this rapid fire draw-5 Slay the Spire system.
Trap style!! my favorite, beside deception and orc must die so little content for single player and this one look nice if anyone ever find something like this please write under this comment
Yo! I havent seen a game that llays with these ideas since kageros deception in the ps1/2 days. You can do some really busted setups it looks like. Also damn now i got an itchs to play a 25 year old game again thanks
Thanks for the video Retro. Im a huge fan of the concept but the result looks so not fine to me. Maps are so small, behaviors and animations of the ennemies looks somehow erratic, cards are pretty hard to read. I dont know, its just a big disappointment to me. Dont get me wrong, I love Slay the Spire and the idea, but aouch :/ Yes the freedom is cool in this game but it feels more like freedom related to random implementation than freedom actually designed to make the game more challenging or creative in some ways.
It is just demo which released on August 6th, 2023, I guess you can wait and see how our devs improve the game experience in the future? Thanks for your feedback :)
@@IndieGamePublisherErabit Oh wow. Sorry, my message was a message as a player and I hope from that perspective it might at some point be useful as a feedback. But as a developer I truly respect and enjoy the work + your reactivity. Let just say to me, the promise is very good but not yet totally reached. Good luck and that and thanks again.
Thanks for the amazing video of our game! Your support truly motivates our devs! 🙌
This game really has great potentials. Look forward to more contents!
Absolutely! Seeing your enjoyment of our gameplay made our day!
Kind of reminds me of dungeon warfare on iOS. Love the mechanics of throwing creeps off the map.

This man single handedly got me to buy more games than I would ever care to admit lol.

Orcs must ex-Spire.

This look nice. Dungeon warfare with deckbuilder.
This game is so good! And it took me a bit to notice that this is actually Candy Disaster 2, the sequel to one of my favorite Tower Defense games.
Cool use of concepts from the Deception series.
This one is so good!
Reto the wall spike was pushing them minions into the water, but you didn't notice.
I noticed, I utilized it. It is only a 1 tile push though unlike the others so it was less usable as a push.

This game looks fun and it has all of my favorite genres of games
Yes The only thing It could be better is have the graphic of Orc must die
The gameplay loop looks rather good.
This is very creative!
This fills my tower defense/slay the spire fan fantasy

friendly reminder that PUNCH CLUB 2 is out
Orcs Must Die saved? :D
Samurai vs zombies stil best tower defence game for me

look at dungeon warfare 1 & 2! they are games centered around block style traps like this, with pretty huge campaigns/replayability of levels
A rougelike I would hight suggest is impaled. Its a fps rougelike with an emphasis on creativity and mobility
Played, it is fun!

CD2? More like KD:2. This is Kagero Deception 2 in 2023
it's like Orcs Must Die 2
I just want to say to the devs that the card descriptions are extremely misleading. Multiple cards do something different that what is said on them.

strong orcs must die vibes
aka a tower defense
You know you skip to epic card drawers😢
Ui is identical to slay the spire
id rather a game copies a good ui than make their own bad one.
I'd rather they make their own good one
