@@Last.Dark.Emperor It is. Pohx might be playing SC, but he adjusted the build for HC as well. I only play HC, and never had any problems with his build since 3-4 leagues.
@@thedeep6570 Isn't that for like every build? How often do you find one that you are playing for a month or even more? The most important question is to ask yourself what type of mechanics do you enjoy in the game and then pick a build that excels at them. That will be the best build for you. It doesn't matter if you are playing the most "fun" bosser in the game, if you don't like bossing, right?
@@thedeep6570 Honestly RF changes a lot. If the playstyle appeals to you then the variety of how you get there league to league changes. My first RF was a chieftain with max block, max fire cap, and HP stacking only. There was a phase where you you pretty much had to play the old man with consecrated ground and HP/ES mix to stack regen for both. We used explosion chest mods until those were yoinked. Then they diverted the damage of RF away from the amount of HP/ES you burn to rely more on spell mods and gearing became vastly different, and using fire spells other than scorching ray to add to dps was more doable. Then they changed Chieftain and it wasn't quite better than the old man, but now I guess Chieftain is coming back into vogue for realsies...
i try to look for those meta build that pin as league start and run most of them to act 3 in the last few day. Rf still the best. sure other build have faster boss kill time but i don't rush boss farming anyway.
RF was the best mapping experience I ever had in PoE.... It's crazy how fun and fast it was. It's sad for Pohx that he has to deal with nerf after nerf. He still managed to make it work which is crazy impressive.
its boss damage sucks though. I played INVESTED rf characters in several leagues and bosses were always an issue. Although my Sentinel RF worth about 150 ex managed to farm simulacrums up to wave 30, i switched to fire trap six link instead of RF - it was servicable. In Sanctum league i played a mapper RF that invested a bit into mapping speed itself - Rotgut and frenzy charge generation to get Onslaught, Adrenaline on kill for 3 sec on that unique ring. It was really fast character, surprisingly fast for a RF build. Still, terrible character to run Sanctum itself. Hexblast Trickster was the king of Sanctum.
RF Chieftain single handedly made me have a good time during necropolis league, managed to beat all the none uber bosses for the first time thanks to how tanky simple and straight forward it is, if you haven't tried it before, i can wholeheartedly recommend it, thanks for showing me the true way Pohx
I second this. I learned so much from playing Pohx RF build. I knew a lot about the game but still considered myself a noob and any question I had with the build was already answered in his insanely in depth wiki. Couldn't recommend this more to anybody sitting on the fence about what to pick.
I'm probably going to play something different this league, but Pohx's RF builds are my all time favorites. Sometimes you just want to sit back, chill, and melt stuff with very little effort, and this is the perfect build for that.
Ziz is ABSOLUTELY KILLING IT with these videos. I've always loved this channel, but this weekend is literally made 10 times better by having these endless build guides to choose from. I'm actually having a problem choosing a starter build. I'm leaning towards his shield charge (idk the skill name), just because he said he loved it so much.
I played RF Chieftain during Necropolis, and it's absolutely a cozy/smooth build for maps, but it's definitely going to be substantially weaker. I progressed to having Mageblood, a 42% Defiance, an Adorned jewel setup, and capitalized on rearranging my tree to utilize the Perandus Pact / Unnatural Instict combo once I hit 100 and had enough room to fit it alongside clusters. Losing almost half the returns on Defiance, dropping all that access to phys conversion, and %max resist being more accessible to everyone else (which was so comparably easy to get on a Chieftain) makes me think this isn't a great time to be going for this build. The progression paths available for upgrades also held my interest longer, as it felt like there were so many little things you could pick up. A long-term goal I'm going to continue into Standard is to get enough reservation corruptions on blue jewels to squeeze an extra aura in there. The build doesn't need it, of course, but it's fun to have goals. You will struggle to actually run into problems playing this, though, because for whatever comparative weaknesses RF has, Pohx's resources basically make up for it unless you're quite experienced. If you are experienced, you already probably know RF's limitations and just like watching these videos. Let's be honest, a lot of builds are thrown together in PoB and are heavily reliant on theorycrafting. This one has its own wiki that's run by someone playing the build every league. You're not gonna find more support than this. Pohx's stuff is great.
It's still going to be one of the smoothest league starters/getting to maps experiences, and the price to get there being incredibly cheap. Once you hit red maps, you can choose if you wanna invest further into RF, or pivot into one of the myriad melee options with some saved up currency
So what you are saying is that the END GAME of RF is not as good by comparison. Thankfully this is a league start video and hopefully rf is still a great league starter.
My first ever time playing this was like 3 leagues ago now and if it wasn't for this build I wouldnt still be playing because of the amount of info there is on it as a new player it was so good to be handheld
My experience was exactly the same. Always wanted to pick this game up but felt so overwhelmed with the depth. Pohx wiki helped me a TON. Everything was broken down into it's most simplest form and almost any question I had was already answered in the wiki. One thing that bothered me about other guides was that some of them expected you to already know things in the game that a noob wouldn't know. Pohx wrote his wiki so well that even the most basic player can grasp it.

Played Pohxes rf inq a few leagues ago and it was the smoothest league start I’ve ever had by far. Would highly recommend any of his rf builds. First time trying chief this league :)
I really love the addition of the 'super expensive' setup category in the pob. If you play this build and like it, you can take it to the next level. Or you just learn some nice interactions and itemsetups.
So glad to see this. RF is looking really strong this league. Just put up a vid talking about how it seems too attractive not too to fund all these fun melee builds this league :)
Props to Pohx, I could not play the same build every single league for years. I need variety, the same playstyle would be extremely boring to me... Now I did do an rf myself and even got to 100 with it but still.
RF is the "go-to" Build for me every League Start, I was missing it without even knowing but then I found it and boy did I rejoice. It's sad that GGG likes to RF in every new League again and again, kinda feels like there's someone there that is personally attacked by it :D
I don't care about the fact that RF is not the most optimal build and yet keeps getting nerfed patch after patch. Every time I league start something else, I end up regretting it. Why,.you may ask? Because when you play RF, you don't just play RF. You play Pohx of Exile, and Pohx has to be the nicest, most dedicated PoE content creator ever. Playing RF on league start with Pohx's stream in the background is the most pleasant experience you can get on league start in my book. There's a sense of comfort and community that's unmatchable. Pohx is my league start security blanket. I love Pohx. 😁
When I started running RF, we didnt have Pohx, and I was running bare basic Cloak of flame / Rise of the Phoenix with trash weapon and other gear, I didn't even know about crafting, bare basic Level 20 gems and it got me in to Tier 10/Tier 11 maps. After moving in to gearing and a bit of crafting, it takes me through T16, where I just look at a mob, and they say "Okay we give up" and die on the spot. RF takes some shit from people, its not Zoom Zoom DPS, even more so now, but its a relaxed play style. I usually play Jugg but I am interested in Chieftan, so will try that this league.

last league i follow his rf guide it was amazing. Interestingly later i realized it is actually become trap build not rf XD But that late game or super late game where your fire trap deal waaaay more damage than your rf to the point i was able to do no regen maps by simple not using rf and destroying stuff with fire trap
yo ziz, that commentary of pohx is pretty outdated isnt it? We dont use any Warcrys in 3.25. So the "if you want the big pack to explode press infernal cry" 2:30 is straight up outdated Also just to clarify the 2.6mil ist RF + Fire Trap combined (to be fair the 650k is still way enough to explode packs in maps and to feel smooth)
Hey Ziz, a bit of feedback and I hope it doesn't come across as hating on the guide or Pohx himself. This is the 3rd or 4th league you've done a RF guide where it's essentially saying "use Pohx's perfectly min-maxed and optimized guide for the build he's built a literal wiki for." I wonder if the effort on this video could be better used to highlight a few build creators like Pohx that really know their build inside and out and direct people to their own guides. You could give each build a couple minutes for a quick rundown and showcase and then give people links to the creator's own channels/guides. It could open up more collabs in the future and also help some of the smaller creators who are making good builds but get lost in the sea of PoB warriors.
We need a transfigured RF gem that ramps up single target damage over time so you can boss with this build. It's great for league start but godawful for bossing
3/5 bosskiller is kind of sus, i would give it a 2/5 at best it is rf after all and you aren't gonna scale rf ontop of firetrap from +1 level to fire/all spell skill gems
