In Part 1, Todd and Tuliyani head out to the Galapagos with National Geographic on one of their ships, the Endeavor II. The first few days are filled with activities and getting to know what the Galapagos can offer. They visit the islands of San Cristobal, Española, Floreana, and Santa Cruz.
Welcome to the Galapagos, an archipelago full of unique biota and rare animals. These islands are a part of Ecuador and located about 1000 km outside of South America. Darwin made the Galapagos famous when he stepped foot onto its shores and developed his theory of natural selection, changing the way we understand evolution.
On the Islands of the Galapagos live several fearless animals who have never known any predators. To preserve their innocence, it is important to save the environment that the animals live in and the best way to do so is to educate the world about such a rare location.
Watch as Todd and Tuliyani experience the Galapagos aboard the National Geographic Endeavor II and witness animals behave like they’ve never seen before.
It’s an eventful first few days that leaves them at awe that such a place exists: marine iguanas that blend in with the rocks, sea lion pups that are just as playful as dogs and mockingbirds that steal whatever they can get.

Its like five grand just for the cruise though...then you have to fly down to Ecuador. I would prefer US flag ship but i think they probably require equador flag because you're staying inside ecuador. We have the same rule in USA (if you go from new york directly to san juan it has to be a US Flag ship).

After having been here my one recommendation would be that you split your accommodation reservations between all the islands you intend to visit. Do not think that you will do day trips in between them and return back to San Cristobal. Highly recommend hostels as well as they can help you book excursions and will generally get you a better rate. One of the tourists on our volcano hike spent 4x what we did reserving herself.
