- Trim the cabbage, then shred it. To shred, cut the cabbage in half, remove the core, then slice each half into thin slices and separate the slices with your hands into strips. Place the strips in a bowl or colander and rinse.
Transfer the rinsed cabbage to a large, deep skillet, without drying it off - the water adhering to the cabbage will allow it to steam. You can add a tablespoon of water to the bottom of the pan, but I don't find it necessary.
Turn the heat on medium-high and cover. When the cabbage starts to steam, which should take about 1 minute, lower the heat to medium.
Steam, covered, for about 5 minutes. Uncover, stir, and cook 2 more minutes to allow any remaining water to evaporate. If you still have too much water in the pan, you can drain it into a colander.
Then season the cabbage: I use an all purpose blend of 2 tablespoons of Salt, Pepper, and Garlic Powder , stirring to combine. Cook 2-3 more minutes, stirring. Garnish, if desired, with dried parsley and red pepper flakes. Serve warm. - Развлечения

I remember loving steamed cabbage as a kid but never knew how to make it myself. Love this thank you for this can’t wait to see more❤
Love steamed cabbage! Thanks for sharing!
Thats a light flex with that hand scraped teak floor as a back drop;) I'm cooking your cabbage recipe tomorrow, I can't wait!
Man, you on point cooking the green leaves first and cutting out, then discarding that white core, it has no taste or nutrients. I give you 10 stars. Fix my plate, I'll have 2 chicken wings ( any way) boiled white potatoes seasoned with onions, corn on the cob, cornbread and tea or homemade lemonade. Please and thank you.🍽😋
Thank you Man, just what I needed!
Great video, very simple and clear explanation. I’m gonna try this tonight, thanks for the recipe! Take care, stay safe.

My Dr said that my cholesterol is high and I have to change the way I eat. This looks good and is probably far healthier than fried cabbage and bacon. Thank you for the video. I'm going to try this. Maybe use some sunflower oil or extra virgin olive oil. :)
Most definitely, eat what you love just do it in moderation, exercise, eliminate the red and processed meats.Trust me I’m a Dr.😇. I appreciate you and thanks for watching 🙏🏾
Doc wants to sell pills and doesn't have your best interest in mind but own interests. But adding fresh food to diet is a lifestyle that will help convince you to stop going to doc so you can live longer.
Thxs for the video now I can make it
Thx ....very simple!
I love cabbage steamed soft and cooked with spicy extras.
Delicious!!!!
It was!
Thankyou so much sir 😊👌🏻
Thanks
Yasss thank you for this. I heard it's better to steam cabbage than to boil it and broccoli too
Can you use water to steam it too? If so how much
How long you let your cabbage cook/steam
What kind of oil do you use
"It don't need no mo seasonin'. . ."
*dumps more seasoning*
Hahaha great video I'm saving this, i heard it helps lower cholesterol!
Great video. Like what you did how much water did you add when you put the cabbage in
I only used about 3 tablspoons of water the cabbage will release its own moisture
What type of oil do you put in the pan before you put your onions in was it olive oil or vegetable?
Sorry if I missed it but how much water did you add initially? And did you add any additional water during the 25 min or just once and leave it be?
Exactly how much water do we use?
Nice video. But timings in the description and the video are very different
So what do you think about adding butter to it?
I think you can add a few tablespoons after your cabbage is done for a more savory flavor. Butter makes everything better 🤣🤣🤣. Remember it’s your kitchen and you can do what you want!!! OK😉
Have you used water? Or only oil, cabbage, and seasoning?
Use both, about two tablespoons of oil to start, and then add three tablespoons of water, lower your temperature, cover the pot and lt steam
Hope this was helpful, and as always thanks for watching ❤️❤️❤️❤️
When he washed the cabbage, that is where the water come in, and the cabbage release the water anyway. The oil is used with the added onions. He used salt , and I think he said all purpose seasoning, and garlic powder .
Sorry for the delayed response, I use about 3 tablespoons of water, like LaVonne said cabbage releases its own moisture. I also use a few tablespoons of oil. I think I used Badia Complete Seasoning. thanks for watching.
Is there a particular brand of knives you are using?
no but they're coming soon. you don't need a particular brand of knife, just make sure they are sharpened. You'll get cut easier in the kitchen with a dull knife.
Looks delicious
How much water you use
about 3 or 4 tablespoons just enough to steam it
How much is a little bit of water?
5-6 tablespoons
Thanks! It worked.
Are you using a steamed?
Plz answer
Sorry not steamed steamer
Please write the seasoning for me
So I added 2 tablespoons of each seasoning
Salt, pepper, and garlic powder. But please make sure you taste, add a little at a time it really depends on how much cabbage you’re cooking.
Had con0
you need to clean that cook top
Thanks for your perception
That pot spilled over
Leave the cooking to the women, bro. It’s their natural calling. They just do it better! 👩🏾🦰
