I'm glad I asked her more questions to find out what was wrong. We helped another girl before near our old shop, but that turn out so scary for Joe and me. I'll tell that story again soon.
Thank goodness you and Joe were there to help her. The police were foul, they could have let her charge her phone before they dumped her on the streets. Your blessings will be many.
When I heard the sister on the phone sounding so worried then relieved it really touched my heart. I can imagine how they worried all night about that young girl. Whey didn't they let her call the sister before the phone went dead?
I have done this many times before I began working in law enforcement. It's sad these young people are out here making real life choices that will hurt them in the future. You are correct maybe a little over 10 - 15 years ago a DUI/ DWI cost about $7000 - 10,000. However, today that's about $10,000 - $15,000 depending on the city or state where the individual is charged.
About 10 years ago one of our neighbors at our business got a DUI because he ran from a fight at a party. He was drinking and got behind the wheel of his car, but didn't start it yet and still got the DUI. It was $10K. Recently I got an update from the Fontana police commissioner about check points and it said DUI was now $15k for my neck of the woods. Lordt.
She must have a praying person in her life. She may not be a praying person, but OTHERS who are praying FOR SOMEONE … past, present and future… have prayers touching the heart of God! Those folks prayers, SENT YOU & JOE! BIBLE QUOTE: “ The effectual, fervent prayer of the RIGHTEOUS, AVAILETH MUCH!”🙌🏽🙋🏽♀️

Probably the sister she called. She wasn't scolding her, she was just so relieved that she was ok.
Do you still have a rooster as your next door neighbor?
