I've been living in Tbilisi for 3 years and enjoying the 1% tax rate as a small-business entrepreneur. It's not as flashy as Dubai, but there's plenty of good food, friendly people (not everyone), and beautiful nature. The infrastructure and traffic aren't great, and there's a risk of having noisy neighboring countries, but the business procedures (such as setting up a business and opening a bank account) are pretty straightforward, as mentioned by Nomad Capitalist. It's not for everyone, but it can be a good fit for some people!

@@advex4428 when I was there in March every day was 32-36 Celsius so around 95 Fahrenheit. Right now they're in spring and looking at weather app it seems to have been mid 60's to 90 F with averages around 75 for the past month. They say it's humid. I didn't really notice that much difference in humidity from northern NJ 😂.
The two countries couldn't be more different. Paraguay has no mountains or seaside. All it had back in 2014 when i visited was abandoned constructions sites, slums and malaria. Tbilisi is nothing like Asuncion. Visited the latter in 2014 and it felt like it was the most depressing place on the planet. Especially on a Sunday morning. Homeless people everywhere, random gunshots. I felt like I was the only tourist there at the time. Georgia has always been a bustling place, full of life and tourists. Especially in summer.
I explored Georgia in 2011, it was pretty undeveloped, svaneti was absolutely incredible. I love Georgia. I would totally live there. The people and lands are amazing
i'm just worried if the georgian society is racist against asians or not, since americans keep randomly killing asians, i'm set to live in the mountains for retiring.

When I visited Georgia back in 2021 they handed me an investment brochure at the airport. I certainly regret not taking a serious look at investing, but we live and learn.

When I visited Georgia I got harassed and followed all over the airport by intimidating taxi drivers who were charging 10 times the real rate of yandex taxi. These guys are so bad that sometimes they even find their way beyond the arrivals hall and customs and they start harrassing you after passport control. The airport staff and security guards don't seem to care about rouge taxi drivers wandering around all over the airport even in restricted areas. Much reform needed in Georgia!

Back in a day when I was a kid my grandpa sold around 7000 m2 for 200$ to Chinese I can't believe this. They have a cattle farm now there. East Georgia near Matani village and a hydro power plant
@@ernststeenberg7226 no they expanded. They probably acquired small lands nearby. And we don't have big lands for graze anyway it's a small country and farms usually have 30-100 cows and they don't graze in open fields as you might expect and it is expensive to feed them in enclosure

I am surprised that the woman with you doesn’t mention that, and I’m surprised that you were able to buy the land. We live in Tbilisi now and no matter how many places I’ve contacted, no matter how many homes, even with yards, and we were NOT able to purchase because they were agricultural. So, the information is misleading.
There's nothing misleading about it: 1. He purchased it when it was possible for anyone. That shows that commenters who ask "Where's the good place to buy something cheap today?" should stop finding reasons to complain about whatever other places we discuss and consider getting in while they can. 2. You could also become a Georgian citizen, which was recently made a faster process, and then you can own anything you want. 3. There are ways through our lawyer to own some lands; she left a few comments here. What it proves is people should listen to us the first time we discuss something and then they won't complain they missed the boat later. 😊
Thank you for your reply, but if I’m an advisor with plenty of followers, it’s my job to say the facts “For Now”, which are: if you’re a foreigner and even have a temp or permanent residency, you cannot purchase land because almost all of it is agricultural, even a home with a yard. And I’d also mention that I bought this land when that was not the law. Do you know how many people are struggling to get out of their countries and videos of people on RUclips make them believe they’re going to achieve their dreams if they move to….! And not everyone “does a thorough research”, but then again, every research is almost always based on the internet with too many confusing information. Before moving to Georgia, I also assumed that I could land my dream of living in rural, my land, grow food, etc, but well, that was a huuuuuuuugge disappointment. Anyway, thanks for the reply.

There are two types of land: agricultural and non-agricultural. Since 2019 regulations, foreigners are prohibited from directly purchasing agricultural land. To assist our clients (buyers), we've been helping sellers convert agricultural land into non-agricultural land, this is done by the City Hall of the municipality the land is located in. While not every piece of land can be converted, we've had no issues so far, and it's generally easier if there's already a house on the property. This is just one approach, as there are other methods available as well.

Have a network of trusted locals in every country. You either hire a firm like ours, or you go there and put in the time and learn by trial and error.

2. You could also become a Georgian citizen, which was recently made a faster process, and then you can own anything you want.
3. There are ways through our lawyer to own some lands; she left a few comments here.
What it proves is people should listen to us the first time we discuss something and then they won't complain they missed the boat later. 😊
Thank you for your reply, but if I’m an advisor with plenty of followers, it’s my job to say the facts “For Now”, which are: if you’re a foreigner and even have a temp or permanent residency, you cannot purchase land because almost all of it is agricultural, even a home with a yard. And I’d also mention that I bought this land when that was not the law.
Do you know how many people are struggling to get out of their countries and videos of people on RUclips make them believe they’re going to achieve their dreams if they move to….! And not everyone “does a thorough research”, but then again, every research is almost always based on the internet with too many confusing information.
Before moving to Georgia, I also assumed that I could land my dream of living in rural, my land, grow food, etc, but well, that was a huuuuuuuugge disappointment. Anyway, thanks for the reply.

There are two types of land: agricultural and non-agricultural. Since 2019 regulations, foreigners are prohibited from directly purchasing agricultural land. To assist our clients (buyers), we've been helping sellers convert agricultural land into non-agricultural land, this is done by the City Hall of the municipality the land is located in. While not every piece of land can be converted, we've had no issues so far, and it's generally easier if there's already a house on the property. This is just one approach, as there are other methods available as well.
