- Do you really need a 4x4 to go off-road explore and camp?
If our grandparents did it, how hard can it still be with 50+ year old VW Beetles?
The adventure kicks off to prepare the Beetles for the upcoming off-road camping trip but not everything went exactly according to plan...

Nothing beats VW adventures
Hey comes with built in steel bumpers/nudge bars and rocksliders and it breaksdown a lot. So it is like a low clearance Land Rover
Getting ready my 1968 Beatle to take it from San Diego to San Francisco CA with my 16 year old daughter ❤️
That moment when your watching a RUclips video and the backdrop seems a bit too familiar. 🤔😉
Driver in the older Beetle. On 8:32 you did not look to see if any cars are coming. 🤣😂 “yes I saw you did look before that as it was a veld on your right”
Lekker Nortje! Sien uit na die volgende episode.
Grats on 10k bru!
Thanks bud🤘🏻🔥
awesome ... in every way!
This is going to be a goodie
Lekker avontuur!
Lekker man!
Would love to have a 1970s Ford f100 4x4 for a road trip
I’m going to take my 1969 Baja bug on such a trip as this, don’t know when but soon
cool beetles, but nice datsun 1200 in the garage... :)
Check valve clearance on "red square"😊
The Final Part of the Beetle Safari Trip is live now! : ruclips.net/video/NXzMZYiszaI/видео.html
Wow, cups of raw fuel leaking out of the intake manifold and the "vw mechanic's'" fix it plan is to seal off the leak, because thats why it aint running right, lol!
Stuck needle valve, misadjusted or broken off carburetor float is what any competent mech wouldve looked at. There was zero fuel metering in that engine.
I checked out after that scene
We'll have a look into that thanks. Just a bunch of mates that like cars, learning as we go
ek sien uit na die volgende beetle 4x4 adventure!
It's out🤘🏻: ruclips.net/video/NXzMZYiszaI/видео.html
I depends if they have been maintained.
The problem is you took cars that you didn't fix for the journey and now you create an impression that these bugs are failureywhen we know they build just for these type of conditions
Never said they weren't suited to the terrain. As we mentioned they have been in storage for a while and need some love, but this is the reality of owning old cars.
Makes me wonder, went wild camping up the West Coast couple of weeks ago to test out my new GV and encountered a whole convoy of camping Beetles on the some of the better condition tracks. Did I spot a spoiler IRL?
That must have been the Nuts & Bolts Rally which Dieter covered on his channel as we did this trip quite some time ago already.
Will have a look, did realise you could such big roof racks on a Beetle.
What model/year is the red bug?
Vamos pegar esse beatle e vamos viajar para Russia.
Hahahaha
Float too high in the carb?
tiene el volante para otro lado?
4:50 song name?
Some rare vehicles that are not 4x4 or build for offroad can handle pretty gud
Shit just seen now on Autotrader beetle going for R400K
They are becoming quite sought after especially the older models. You should see the amount of joy these bring to peoples faces on a trip!
First!
NOoooooooooo!😢
Dammit you beat me to it
@@HendriMouton Lol!
