The Splaturry videos led me to the Gwain Saga, which I fell more and more in love with, as my english got better(note: I discovered the series when I started consuming more english media in order to improve my english skills, which was like 5-6 years ago). The GS also led me to other aquaintances I made in the pandemic. Now I am close to coming of age and still excited for more of GeoExe's creations. And with how 008 went, there is a chance for 009 to have more voice acting, instead of a few words(and obligatory grunts) sprinkled in like 008 has. In short: Geo's content threw me down a big rabbit hole and I enjoy the stay to the fullest.

Ngl I fell in love with the series, its simply incredible. The setting is the main thing i like about it. Yea the consept is kinda generic, but it feels somehow different enough to make it feel unique Its unfortunate that the series will end so soon. ~7 other episodes were originally planned, but for one reason or another they had to cut it back. They might end it on episode 9, or they'll continue afterwords

I am a Gwain Saga fan since when 008 came out (tho i have a mandela effect that 008 was released months prior). I recommended this series to some people i know irl. Most of my classmates didn't like it because of the animation style and character designs and they found it boring, even my sister's boyfriend didn't like it for the same reason. The people that liked it or seems to like the series based on a brief summary i tell to them are a group of people i met in an event where you learn how to draw in manga/anime style, my support teacher i had in my 4th and 5th year of high school and my ex italian teacher's brother (who's a Franciscan friar). Then there's my cousin who seems to have heard of it before but he doesn't remember it. As for the fandom, yeah, there are some people who can be really weird to the public eye (like Insane Okamy or Geoexesans777) and i am aware that there's homophobia (tho GeoExe likes fanart pro-LGBT, after all, he made Gwain x Luna canon long time ago). But there are actually nice people in the community, like Gwain Saga Fan Channel (a.k.a. BobThatFriendlyDutchGuy) and because of Gwain Saga, many artists that went from trying to replicate the GS style to do their own original stuff. Also, speaking of Gwain Saga, back in October/November 2021 until September 2022, i decided to (without GeoExe's approval) translate the series in Italian, my language. My translation wasn't great in the early episodes (Pilot-005) but i improved it in the later ones (006-008) but most importantly i added some notes for better understanding that the characters said and i fixed some dialogues that didn't make sense in my language (that's more noticable in my 006 translation), in the Holding out for A Hero scene in 008 i added the lyrics of the official Italian version that was used in the Italian dub of Shrek 2 and in 007 i highlitghted a dialogue that i found it suspicious and i hope we will find answers in 009 (which there's a rumor that is the longest episode of the series). Gwain Saga is a great series, has some flaws here and there but still a great series.

I don't really recall the first time I watched gwain saga, the preview for episode 9 randomly appeared in my recommended the other day, so I fell down the rabbit hole of rewatching it, honestly such a treat to see how great the shows aged over the years, I can't begin to imagine how geo plans on wrapping the story up, I'm also very interested as to what the music will be like. super excited, I estimate it'll drop sometime late november, or early december, possibly on christmas, but I don't want to get my hopes up, so maybe sometime within the next 365 days.

If memory serves, I found Geo Exe and Gawain Saga a little before the party episode came out and it its hands down tied for my favorite web series on RUclips due to its combination of art style, humor, various references, and use/choice and way of using video game music (value for each of those in order from most impactful on my placing it tied for top to least) all mixing together in combination with its setting and writing to make it a really fun show to watch for me. It ending after its next episode, whenever it happens to come out, will be pretty bittersweet to me, bitter in the sense that its ending, but sweet in the sense that its sorta rare to see an animated web series actually be properly concluded since I've seen plenty just slowdown in release until they stopped altogether part way through with no indication they will ever continue, and no decent end instituted before it disappeared/discontinued. That said prior to maybe some parts in EP 8 it didn't really feel like Gawain Saga was quite at the point where it had been preparing to wrap up and end, but the final episode will most likely address that in some way and given how long it's been in production it very likely will be rather long, though that might be me making my expectations too high, or perhaps there were signs in EP 7 I simply didn't notice, though I always figured it would do 10 episodes or so before calling it quits, but I guess it's possible Geo could feel himself losing steam and motivation for continuing to work on the series or simply not being able to find time to do so and decided to wrap up early.
Now i just recently watched it and honestly its really good for what it is. a nice youtube animated story with cool characters. And one thing i.really enjoyed was finding all the video game references like metal gear solid, final fantasy, earthbound, sonic cd, and soo much more. I think thats why i like the pixel art a lot it makes stay true to those type of games that the show was referencing. But I do have a couple complaints like, how the overall plot was hard to understand cus their wasn't much going into tell the plots story and you just had to figure it out, or how some characters were very underutilize. As for Geo and Ami I like them a lot but I also have nitpicks, for example Ami doesn't use some form of text so its hard to understand her at times but i feel like episode 8 and 9 kinda fixes that as they show a lot more expression when she's "dialoguing" and they show imagery. As for Geo My main grip is that hes pretty boring a lot of the times, he really needs his own personality that sets him a part he can be dumb and amusing which was probably the creators whole point but a lot of the times he feels like a background character whens the actual main character. He doesn't need to speak but he should have his own characteristic other than, silent protag, body guard, kind towards people, likes ami. And also lastly Geo himself feels kind underdeveloped when fighting. I like how people can best him in combat or use their own skills against him but a lot of the time he usually just takes unnecessarily hits especially when hes a extremely far greater speed, strength, stamina, and durability compared to almost everyone in the show. I can understand the first 3 or so episode cus he isn't used to fighting but this persist through almost the entire series. He shouldn't be op but from what i've seen when it comes to geo capabilities he really shouldn't be struggling this much in a lot of his fights. Now over all I think the shows really good, is it overrated not really for what it is, its really good but from what i heard that episode 9 is the last episode so i don't think it needs as much exposure than it already has considering how its averages about 2 million views per episode.
This is something that I agree with. Geo just comes across as just being a really bland protagonist that doesn't really do much in the plot whatsoever. Now I understand that some plots don't need a serious protagonist and that's okay. But my main problem is when your main character isn't relatable enough to like them as the main protagonists. Like there's just nothing that's rooting for Geo like why do I care about his goals are ideals or why do I even care for him as a protagonist there's nothing to even like about him. He has no past or no history. Just comes across as being bland and basic. One good example to make a good self-insert character is Denji from chainsaw man, how Denji's past was horrible and despite his shortcomings he tries to be the best he can be. The creator of chainsaw man put so much worked into this character that it was basically his own life showing miserable his life was. Geo is a fine character to watch but he just so unrelatable.

Like you and I stated Geo isn't per-say a bad character just to bland and boring of a character especially when their isn't anything defining about him at all other than charcter design, fighting capabilities. and kinda lack-luster relations he has with his friends besides ami who he likes and they give an entire episode (episode 9) to develop such relationship which is nice

Originally, I think GeoEXE planned to make 15(?) episodes, but something happened and the number was reduced to 9. Hopefully, this means that there's a chance for an S2 or just more episodes if something changes. I genuinely believe GS is the best web series I've ever seen, but I actually haven't seen very many so... Either way, I love the show and wish there was more of it
Personally for me I think that Gwain saga in some sense is not underrated but just good. I think you're right about how Gwain Saga does not need to be a serious focus show like a freaking shonen anime. But my problem with that is how the story fights between being serious and being a comedy central series. Which kind of breaks the comedy or parody part of the show. While the characters are fine I do think the main character Geo is not really that interesting character as he's more so just a self-insert that just acts kind of dumb and badass when the moment calls. Leaving him to be kind of soulless or unrelatable for our protagonist. As well as the plot kind of being under developed as well even though it just is a parody. The story as well it kind of does feel a little bit too short as well as that it kind of comes across being too rushed, like the first episode to the last kind of feels like a season 1 to a season 3 arc in just 9 episodes. While I think Gwain Saga has solid animation and funny humor it isn't saying much about the series as a whole. Personally I think the series is just fine and I think that personally people only know the series for most of its characters rather than the actual plot itself. Well I don't think the 9th episode won't be bad I think it's going to be a little bit anti-climatic leaving a lot more than to be desired. But I understand why it's going to end the 9th episode because of budget and possibly the creator wanting to do other things. I honestly like your review about the series in general, I think it's the most honest review for the series as a whole. I would love to see more web series that you like to talk about as I would be excited to watch. Overall for me Gwain saga is like 7/10 very solid but not nothing special.

I believe Geo jumped off the train like that to slow it down more. He knew he wouldnt be able to stop a full speed train very quickly, Etc. he knew he had to make a leap of faith in a way.
If you wouldn't mind a suggestion for a series to cover, I'd recommend Bugbo by Bensilly. It nails the feeling of an old forgotten 2000s flash series so well, with it not even being the typical "nostalgic thing turned scary" series seen everywhere these days. (It's more focused on humor than horror, but that's one of the reasons it's so good, to me at least.)
An answer to one of your questions. The reason Geo let himself get run over by the train was because it was the fastest way to get to the back without speeding the train up. If he ran the push off would’ve caused the train to speed up, thus causing Ami to not be close enough to be grabbed by savien

Gwain saga is pretty good, the humor can be hit or miss (the tropey stuff is meh, but I absolutely LOST IT at the exchange between the two idiots and the villains

Originally, I think GeoEXE planned to make 15(?) episodes, but something happened and the number was reduced to 9. Hopefully, this means that there's a chance for an S2 or just more episodes if something changes.
I genuinely believe GS is the best web series I've ever seen, but I actually haven't seen very many so... Either way, I love the show and wish there was more of it
Personally for me I think that Gwain saga in some sense is not underrated but just good. I think you're right about how Gwain Saga does not need to be a serious focus show like a freaking shonen anime. But my problem with that is how the story fights between being serious and being a comedy central series. Which kind of breaks the comedy or parody part of the show. While the characters are fine I do think the main character Geo is not really that interesting character as he's more so just a self-insert that just acts kind of dumb and badass when the moment calls. Leaving him to be kind of soulless or unrelatable for our protagonist. As well as the plot kind of being under developed as well even though it just is a parody. The story as well it kind of does feel a little bit too short as well as that it kind of comes across being too rushed, like the first episode to the last kind of feels like a season 1 to a season 3 arc in just 9 episodes. While I think Gwain Saga has solid animation and funny humor it isn't saying much about the series as a whole. Personally I think the series is just fine and I think that personally people only know the series for most of its characters rather than the actual plot itself. Well I don't think the 9th episode won't be bad I think it's going to be a little bit anti-climatic leaving a lot more than to be desired. But I understand why it's going to end the 9th episode because of budget and possibly the creator wanting to do other things. I honestly like your review about the series in general, I think it's the most honest review for the series as a whole. I would love to see more web series that you like to talk about as I would be excited to watch. Overall for me Gwain saga is like 7/10 very solid but not nothing special.

If you wouldn't mind a suggestion for a series to cover, I'd recommend Bugbo by Bensilly. It nails the feeling of an old forgotten 2000s flash series so well, with it not even being the typical "nostalgic thing turned scary" series seen everywhere these days. (It's more focused on humor than horror, but that's one of the reasons it's so good, to me at least.)
I'll check it out. probably won't talk about it soon. three episodes isn't enough.

An answer to one of your questions. The reason Geo let himself get run over by the train was because it was the fastest way to get to the back without speeding the train up. If he ran the push off would’ve caused the train to speed up, thus causing Ami to not be close enough to be grabbed by savien

Gwain saga is definitely a really good series,its no bad but also not great,my only complain is the lack of upload, but im must tolerade it because this type of quality gonna take a while to make,i recommended watch it if you have some spare time.
