Just a fun bit of additional info. They don‘t do internal sun visors because you can‘t get a snell rating with one build in. Lovely video and what a great helmet. Exact same choices I‘ve had considered and in the end it became the Arai XE as well. Just feels that little bit more refined than the alternatives. Also top speed is as quite as you can wish for (Autobahn tested). Cheers from Germany 🏍️💨
These are great helmets, I have 2 Rapides in matte black and red, the latch can be a real pain I won’t lie. There’s a bit of a knack to it. If the visor is fully down trying to raise it while on the road can get frustrating and sometimes you just give up! I have it down about 95%, still clicked on the latch but not fully and then it opens a lot easier. If they had just sorted that for this version though! Loving your colour, enjoy!
I paid £700 for a beautiful Arai RX-7V Evo, which has sat on display in my living room for a year now. So I still have five years left to wear it? that’s a relief 😅
Wish we had the choice of helmets over here in the “other Island” I’ve just bought a HJC flip and had to gamble with the size, luckily it fits, may have to have a day trip next time I need a new one
They had to order me the helmet once I had made sure the sizing was correct when I went to see them originally . Great service . From the other island 😂
Never had an Arai or a Shoei never been able to get a good comfortable fit. I have several HJC a Caberg that was really cheap but is a five star safety rating with Sharp. Last year bought a Schuberth C5 that I probably wear most of the time. I’m never sure about the five year thing I’ve got some older helmets but all my helmets are cleaned if worn, kept in their bag and in their box. Takes a lot of space but I hope it keeps them in better condition.
Arai helmets are one of the best, I don't use anything else, because they fit me the best. I do feel though that the price of premium brand helmets are a bit of a piss take, not just arai, all of them , I would like to know the manufacturer cost, I bet the profit is massive, I usually buy them when they are discounted, I have never paid more than £ 300 for a design one, usually a plane one £250, I have no complaints about the fit and quality of these arai helmets grate products, just too expensive.
One thing I really like about my Arai helmet is the aerodynamics of the helmet, especially when turning my head to look towards the side. Virtually no difference in air resistance. I had a adventure helmet with a big chin extension and I would feel the wind tug on that a lot. Maybe I wouldn't have ever noticed until I started using the Arai, but now I am spoiled with the clean spherical shape of Arai.
Hi, apologies for the delay...yup simple, look on the d rings...you will see 2 numbers stamped on one of the d rings. in my case 06/23....June 2023 manufacture date.
Underneat the centerpad lining There's a sticker on the EPS for the production date, or if you still have the box and a barcode reader on your phone you can simply scan the code
Also, how are you getting on with the visor latch since recording the video? I’m not sure I’ll ever get along with it, so the helmet may remain an expensive ornament 😂
It does seem that the system is on lots of their helmets. I did swear a bit TBH . There is definitely a technique to it....and it does look like you have to put your finger in the right place to get the right result!More finger practice for me I think . 😂
There's a very small hook looking thing that forms an extra tight latch on the Arai face shield. I shaved away a little of that small hook to help me be able to get the shield open without a lot of fussing. Is it less safe? Maybe slightly. The helmet is still much safer than any open face or 3/4 helmet. The shield still comes to a closed position and stays closed until I want it to open.
Great review, but, your local stockist buys those lids off the Asian market 5 or 6 x cheaper than what they charged you for it, and you could buy it off the Asian market yourself. When people let people take them for a mug, they become mugs, and mugging starts spreading like a plague ...but its your money mate. As far as I'm concerned twice what they paid, fine, 5 x and they can shove it where the sun don't shine... Your nose looks squashed by the way.

Thanks for the input. The visor lock , I still find frustrating!!!!!

Fantastic review - I'm looking for a somewhat retro helmet and ride a Trident 660 in matt black. This look like just the ticket...
Rapide Neo user here ....very comfortable and quite light, I just need to remove the 5mm foam layer cheek pads and the strap paddings.
Lovely lid that. Love that speed twin you got too 👌
Thanks 👍
Beautiful helmet...i really like the Pro Shade System visor idea.

Indeed 😂
Bought this helmet, fiddled with the visor latch a bit but soon got used to popping it up.. no issues now.
Do you have a video on your garage setup / build ? I like the look of that storage
No video , the units are from this company 👍

I like your pups !! Mind you the helmet is no slouch either.
thanks for the vid, be well!
I’ve been riding with Arai for over 20 years, great products. However, I wish Arai would make more models in the round oval shape.
I just picked up a new one on sale here in Oz for.....$495 AU. Well happy with that 😊
I do like this helmet... a lot. Looks very COOL . Just don't like the visor mechanism !!!!🤬😂
Love that Color....
Awesome video! Great looking helmet for sure. Better get used to the visor latch system. Especially in an area with tunnels! Best!
Very true!

I guess they do because they can . I remember looking at the price of a Burberry scarf one year for my wife . Wtf ! Put it back very quickly ! 😂
@@gsd32i I was at a Triumph dealer last weekend, looking at the clothing! OMG , second mortgage for a Jacket, £70 for a bloody T-shirt ! Wtf

Does anyone know how to find out what year my arai concept xe was made?

Why on earth would they make the 4 screws holding the visor as clear plastic and not metal?
No idea. I do find the visor lock a bit frustrating at times!
Lighter, some plastics are very strong as well. Not all plastics are the same.
This model is modern gray?
yes it is
Is the helmet quiet or loud?
I'm going to say average, but longer trips i would pop some earplugs in.
@@gsd32i thanks
I wish the sold this helmet in the US
ok start saving up then
Venting on that thing sucks.
So does the visor locking mechanism !!! stupid system !!

Hi, not sure that they do buy them from that market. Enjoy the weekend and ride safe.
