Made from Raw Mango of a special variety known as Appe, it can be prepared using any raw Mango which is tangy in nature. It aids digestion and also helps prevent dehydration during summer. Raw Mango is rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Calcium, and Magnesium. This instant Rasam recipe is easy to prepare since it does not require Dal or Rasam Powder yet tastes great. Ingredients:
Chopped Raw Mango - 1 and 1/4 Cup
Green Chillies - 2
Salt
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Jaggery - 1 tsp
Seasoning Ingredients:
Ghee - 1 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds - 2 tsp
Hing / Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 5-6
Method:
1. Transfer the chopped 1 and 1/4 Cup of Raw Mango to a vessel.
2. Add slit 2 Green Chillies.
3. Add water till it immerses the raw mangoes.
4. Add little Salt.
5. Add 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder and mix well.
6. Cook the raw mango while stirring with the help of a ladle.
7. Within 5 minutes raw mangoes will get cooked and turn soft.
8. Once done, switch off the flame and allow the Mango preparation to cool completely.
9. Once cooled completely, transfer mangoes with green chilies to a mixer jar.
10. Grind to a smooth paste.
11. Transfer the paste to the same vessel used to cook Mangoes earlier.
12. Mix once. Add water as per your preference - the Rasam will be watery.
13. When it starts to boil, add a little more Salt.
14. Add 1 tsp Jaggery.
15. Let it boil for 8-10 minutes and then switch off the flame.
16. We need to do seasoning for the Rasam or Saaru.
17. Add 1 tsp Ghee to a small pan or ladle.
18. Once Ghee melts, add 1 tsp Mustard seeds.
19. Once Mustard Seeds splutter, add 2 tsp Jeera.
20. Add 1/4 tsp Hing/ Asafoetida.
21. Add 5 to 6 cut Curry Leaves and fry.
22. Once the Curry Leaves are fried, add the seasoning immediately to the Rasam or Saaru.
23. Now Raw Mango Rasam or Mavinakayi Saaru or Appe Saaru is ready.

This is my favourite saru. I grind raw mango pieces, green chilli, garlick, kothambari soppu, salt and little gaggary all together and then boil it. Then I put oggarenne as usual. It will be very tasty.

Idu normal Saaru alla, special Mavinakai Saaru. Idakke Saarina Pudi haki madolla. Idakke Appe Saaru kuda helthare. Idannu haagenu kudibahudu, illa annada jotegu chennagirutte. Naanu Sarina Pudi haki try madilla.

While I am not a doctor but this is what I found on the web (again writer may not be qualified medical practitioner and hence we cannot say for sure) -
Raw Mango helps in dealing with intense heat - If you will consume raw mango regularly, it will help you in beating the summer heat as it is rich in vitamin A and vitamin E and, vitamin C. Also, it hydrates the body by minimising the loss of sodium chloride and iron from the body.

In below comments once you have replied that totapuri mango can be used but in very next comment you said not to nake it with totapuri . What is the correct answer .
Initially my impression was that totapuri mango should be ok and hence replied accordingly. Later I tried rasam with totapuri and it did not come out well. Hence i no longer recommend totapuri mango for the rasam. Sorry for the confusion.
