This is the game that got me into fps gaming. I remember playing this on my psp all the time in multiplayer. Now that im really into gaming i was dissapointed with the medal of honor 2010 multiplayer. But i will always respect medal of honor heroes
I miss this game so much as well.. used to be a big fan and a big member of the community.. my verry first online game and best memory ever.. i used to play with the name H3LLz 0wNsss, H3LLz 0wNzzz and BoRn2ConQueR .. wish i knew how to make my own server so i could get it back online again.. miss it again everyday :( EA bring this back! :l
+Tommy V. (Tommy94) i wish it were possible to make your own server for this game, brings back so many memories, feel like i remember your user name, i use to be KGB raptor in the game.
this was the best game for the psp. not only was it the best FPS on the psp, but it also had multiplayer that 1,000 people playing everyday. i spent countless hours on the multiplayer.
i really liked metroid prime hunters as a first person shooter. the use of the touch screen as a way to look around was a really effective idea. also ive never had a michigan beer, though killians irish red and guinness stout are my favorites.
I really don;t understand how pretty much no other PSP FPS could work as good a this one did. They either couldn't figure out how to set up the controls (cause they apparently never played a Dreamcast FPS) or they tried to replicate a console formula. The only games that came close to this where Coded Arms, Heroes 2 and N.O.V.A.
These Games have turned my m8s from Social Reliabilities, into Geeks that lock themselves in2 their Rooms 4 days on end with a headset on! But, never the less, I like this review because of this guys addictive Humour! "Did that guy just kick that grenade back at me!! It was a GIFT!" CLASSIC ONE LINER!
Best MOH are the ones on PSX for sure. I loved underground. When you pretend to be a journalist and take a picture of a soldier. Then they pose and you head shot them! It was hilarious. LMAO Those MOH were awesome!
Really enjoy this game; I got it for £1.45, so it was definitely worth it. It's just a shame that EA have shut down the multiplayer services; it's not the same playing with just bots. It would've been fun to have played it online, and I bought it not realizing that all the PSP servers are now dead. Still money well spent, as I enjoy the Campaign and Skirmish modes plenty.
Yea, I also ended up joining the PSP scene late. I purchased a 2nd hand psp to be able to revisit vice city stories before GTA5 came out. My ps2 stoped working years ago and i never got to finish vice city stories. I've had my psp a couple of months now and im sad to say the majority of the games shut down online functionality. My girlfriend also got a psp and we played a lot of Phantasy Star Portable on multiplayer since those servers are still up and active. Other than that, i've gotten Resistance Retrobution working great online. Do you know any games with active multiplayer over internet wifi (not ADHOC wifi)?
I heard something about the Monster Hunter games having a slightly active online community on the PSP, being one of the few that still has any online functionality at all, but that might not be the case now. I wish I had some friends that owned PSPs so I could actually play the awesome library of games it has with them, but everyone has a Nintendo DS instead. >_>
Shooters for the PSP are awkward to control, but its a satisfying game with single player campaign and intense online multiplayer. there are still people playing this game online. Some are consider cheaters.
PSP is the most powerful console out on the market. I would say its the best but DS has sold way more in the past few years. PSP is still my favorite though!
@GunMaker91 That is true; played it today and finally noticed the few rifles and BAR moments. On another note: I see how accurate the MG42 is at the 4:30 mark. Don't even get me started on how opposite it is in Heroes 2 -_-
I love this game, the graphics may not be amazing, the campaign may be short and pretty shit, but the multiplayer is brilliant and the skirmish mode is fucking awesome, especially when you're on the bus for example, feels like you're playing online, and it's just got great replay value. It's an overall top shooter on the PSP, that I still play today! I prefer it to Heroes 2 if i'm honest, thumbs up if you agree!
the controls are alot better if you switch it to wear you use the stick to look and the right buttons to move, and i find no difficulty with the lack of a second stick. And the graphics are as good as vanguard for ps2. heroes 2 is pretty cool too.
I like this game better than Heroes 2. The first one had a nice sandbox feeling. The sequel was much more linear, which I wouldn't mind if it had the same quality of combat mechanics and enemy AI that the PS1 MOH games did.
@Shadowking. You clearly have very good taste in game developers =) When will people learn to make games for handhelds that are suited for their controls. Handhelds need easy to control or arcade style gameplay. Turn based RPGs arcade driving games, general arcade games (esp 2D games) are much better suited to handhelds such as PSP than are games that require precise controls like FPS.
I loved the first two Medal of Honors for the PSX, I played the first one for the PS2 and it was good, but after that I just wasn't too interested in these games anymore. It seems like everyone plays Call of Duty nowadays. I just don't really care much for them. "Did someone just kick a grenade back at me? That was a gift! What a jerk." haha Mark will always rule.
@Killzoneguy117. I am trying to figure out why you think MW2 is hard, even on veteran it was pretty easy compared to COD4 MW. If you play on a 360 let me know and will help you with it.
Nothing like starting the day with a Classic Game Room HD... everyday.
This was my first and only PSP game when I got it as a present years ago. It was surprisingly good.
this game had awesome multiplayer, 32 players on a handheld! i played it so much i reached rank 1 in the world, good times.
Were you DwgTKal?
- CLWSgtPepper
harrOwbrO i was NiNJa NiZZLe and other names like NiNJa NiZZ.
US or UK server? Remember my clan CLW? remember 360, CPLBlack, RAW
harrOwbrO US server i think. yea i remember those clans, especially RAW and 360.
harrOwbrO I was a proud part of CPLBlack back in the day, so many memories on this game man!
This is the game that got me into fps gaming. I remember playing this on my psp all the time in multiplayer. Now that im really into gaming i was dissapointed with the medal of honor 2010 multiplayer. But i will always respect medal of honor heroes
Just bought this on Amazon. This game was my favorite when I was younger.

A true gem of the PSP :) A must play if you own a PSP or Vita.
Nice review, I'm definitely giving this one a try.

This game is fun. Watching this makes me want to play it again. :)
I remember when i was playing this moh for many hours!
I love this game, is my childhood!
You are too old for comment in this section, actually since your comment was published, this game is not that old for you
I play this game every day in the bus, skirmish mode is just such a big plus for a portable gamesystem.
This guy makes good reviews!!!
FTW!
Mark thanks for the shout out.
this was the best game for the psp. not only was it the best FPS on the psp, but it also had multiplayer that 1,000 people playing everyday. i spent countless hours on the multiplayer.
If you have Ps vita you can map the buttons on the right joystick. Makes aiming little easier
OMG THESE GRAPHICS ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!
love your reviews bro :p
Great review as always Mark!
This is the review of the first game. The game on the Wii is the sequel to this game.
I loved this game, it was my first fps.
Love CGR intro ❤❤
That's because the DS touch screen works like a mouse. It's the closest thing a game console will get to Keyboard and Mouse controls.
I remember playing 1 and 2 online before EA shut down the servers. possibly my favourite games ever
i really liked metroid prime hunters as a first person shooter. the use of the touch screen as a way to look around was a really effective idea. also ive never had a michigan beer, though killians irish red and guinness stout are my favorites.
PSP sure is a console... a portable console... it plays PS1 games.. and PS1 is a console...
Hey man, what kind of program did you use to record from your PSP?
I just got the first MOH on PSX, great game!
THE MELEE FOR THE MP40 IS HILARIOUS IT PUNCHES THEM IN THE FACE AND KNOCKS THEIR HELMET OFF.
I have this game and I loved playing it online with my friends, but now it's full of hackers :'-(. Great review! 5/5
Can you remap the controls to moving with the front buttons and aiming with the analog stick?
my 2nd favorite game on the PSP.
one of the best psp games
i loved this game!

@AWSH17 I definitely am impressed as well because this looks like Medal of Honor European Assault and Vanguard for my PS2. Very impressive...
LOVE THEM!
I like this game . Do someone know when the Multiplayer will be availible again ?
My favorite control setup on the PSP is the Battlefront 2 setup
Best MOH are the ones on PSX for sure. I loved underground. When you pretend to be a journalist and take a picture of a soldier. Then they pose and you head shot them! It was hilarious. LMAO Those MOH were awesome!

Shooters for the PSP are awkward to control, but its a satisfying game with single player campaign and intense online multiplayer. there are still people playing this game online. Some are consider cheaters.
True, but I think games are a lot more easier to play with two analog sticks, because he gives you a much easier way to control the camera.
Gonna buy for my Ps Vita.
Honestly I would consider Touch Screen controls better because it doesn't tire your hands and you can move the Sylus controller.
Please review Coded Arms and Ghost In the Shell for PSP.
1/1/24, the graphics are criminal, this is 90s quality
...made me laugh as always. best reviews :)
PSP is the most powerful console out on the market. I would say its the best but DS has sold way more in the past few years. PSP is still my favorite though!
Great game, the PSP is amazing.
btw i want to ask is there infrastructure mode on medal of honor: heroes 2 and is it better than this 1
@GunMaker91 That is true; played it today and finally noticed the few rifles and BAR moments. On another note: I see how accurate the MG42 is at the 4:30 mark. Don't even get me started on how opposite it is in Heroes 2 -_-

What heroes can u play as? Keegan from Vanguard? Well, I hope so.
I like this game better than Heroes 2. The first one had a nice sandbox feeling. The sequel was much more linear, which I wouldn't mind if it had the same quality of combat mechanics and enemy AI that the PS1 MOH games did.
@rudydoghat :p yup but think about it
there aint a single WWI game on the next gen consoles (not that i now off)
it would be pretty cool
@Shadowking. You clearly have very good taste in game developers =)

@bassdude008 but its medal of honor?
Heh, I live in South Bend, which is just south of Niles. Downtown Niles is very pretty, including the mentioned bridge.
Sony is currently making the PSP games become playable on the PS Vita. So most of them are now playable.
Should i download this on my PS Vita?
are there still any servers on mohh1?
Dreamcast FPS layout
no background noise because he records the audio seperately, using the audio out jack on the bottom of the psp. watch his review of the psp.
you need to review moh frontline i love that geme!
do a review on resistance retribution
@computergenie1 yes moh heroes 2 does count
@poliv67 1st has more missions and skirmish mode
@bushwacker481 No it didn't. It just refined it to a fine sheen and made it better.

Pay more attention.
that guy he shot at the back was me!
This game kicked ass online.
can u use the mic on this game with multiplayer
Does this play like a Metroid prime game?
@Killzoneguy117. I am trying to figure out why you think MW2 is hard, even on veteran it was pretty easy compared to COD4 MW. If you play on a 360 let me know and will help you with it.
