Luke Storhelm spot on and this is universal. Same thing in the United States. Ratio of blacks in university vs blacks in prison = 2 to 1. Ratio of whites in college vs whites in prison = 35 to 1. And they blame their ethnic predisposition for failure on racism by “white supremacists”. As if we are responsible for the fact that unemployed Africans make 7 children per family, knowing that they will have no access to opportunities and education

The oldest skeleton found in Brazil is a black Aboriginal woman scientists named Lucia, this is horrible cause Brazil is the second largest black population in the west other than Haiti, so all this colorism, racism, and discrimination has been installed by Europeans. Mind you there were black people who fought for allot of our freedom, so to disrespect black people like this is just ridiculous.

Brazil has the largest African population 2nd to only Nigeria, yet the nation has eluded a civil rights movement. The nations vast and expanding wealth is disproportionately held by "Brancos," unfortunate when analyzing the Afro-heritage's indelible imprint on Brazilian culture; like Capoeira, Samba, Carnival, and Pele. Yet, Afro and Indio Brazilians still face Segregation, widely rampant with many living in cramped shantytowns. Harness this momentum, demand your rights and don't miss your mark!

"Powerful people DO NOT empower POWERLESS people to take power away from them" (Dr John Henrik Clarke). So if black people in Brazil are fed up with being the "underclass" in Brazil they MUST ORGANIZE themselves and struggle like their ancestors to change the racist white Portguese STATUS QUO in Brazil and DO NOT rely on those black people among you who pretend to talk black (eg Pele etc ) but sleep white. You can't be too RADICAL when your'e RIGHT (Rev Martin Luther King Jr).

The reason why she says "WE ARE THE MAJORITY OF THE POPULATION" is because she's in a city that is mostly made up of African Brazilians. It doesn't reflect the whole country which is very different from Salvador. Brazilians think of Salvador as exotic, like a different country. Salvador has its own culture, mostly Portuguese but it also has a very strong African culture that's not easily found elsewhere Brazil, except for migrants from Salvador, that move to different cities in Brazil.

Rock and Roll, Jazz, Salsa, Reggae, and much more are made by Black culture. The south of brazil is white we do know this but the places with the larger population Rio, Sao, and Bahia are majority people of colour.

And Brazil should not be separated, if any black does not like non-blacks, they can go to Africa.
If any white does not like black/mixed, they can go back to Europe........

Many Afro=Brazilians do not consider themselves as Afro-Brazilian from my experience, many if their complexion is lighter than a Brown Paper bag, consider themselves as something other, like many people of Afro descent from the other Latin American countries. However, people of Afro descent have a lot of issues to work through, first of all, they have to love themselves and each other, support each other and form strong families, because without those things in place they will be continued to be taken advantage of by everyone.

This statement made by Marcus Garvey will ALWAYS remain true- "The only protection against INJUSTICE in man is POWER-physical, financial and scientific" (Philosophy & Opinions of Marcus, Vol. I pg 5). RACISM is NOT only based on white people's prejudice but more importantly it is a function of POWER and Wealth. The anti-dote to RACISM in Brazil (including those countries that are economically controlled by caucasians) will not be affirmative legislation because as long as the POWER BASES (land, economic institution, media, educational system, political institutions, military, judicial system, mean of production) are under the controlled of the white Portuguese in Brazil, black people in brazil will always have to deal with RACISM AND no amount of inter-racial relationships will change that reality. White people across the globe could not practice RACISM against black people if they had at least the same Power and Wealth like that of the europeans AND that explains why the europeans have more respect for asians who reside in Brazil and the advanced asian countries (singapore, china, south korea, japan etc). Too many black people have allowed themselves to be deceived by the religious perspective of caucasians originating from out of europe and north america and the fake "white hippy image " of the Jewish Christ (Yeshua called Jesus by the europeans). The longer black people in Brazil continue to subscribe to the "euro-centric" perspective of Christiianity (a religion which was created by Afrikan people from North East Afrika[ -i.e Kemet (now called egypt) and Ethiopia] the longer they will remain under white portuguese domination and control.

However the rest are mostly mixed to some degree with european, african, and native.
Admixture in brazil is extremly high so a large percentage of white, black, and pardo brazilains probly have combined ancestory from the three main groups that have contribute to brazil ethnic make-up.

My God we are the most but we are the weakest when it comes to togetherness if we in the USA start building in country's that have are ppl in them creating jobs then we would rise.we have to many rich black Americans go down there and buy a soccer team whatever it takes buy more but just an example the white man in America won't allow us to own teams really but we need to create jobs for all our ppl Afro

The portuguese have brought many slaves to Brazil. At some time we had more slaves than free people in our country.... but one thing people aaallllways tend to forget is that Portugal bought the majority of these slaves from Kingdoms of North Africa, making them rich and powerful in the process. It was not a exclusive white job, please.

"Black African family has ever produced a DNA test showing Middle Eastern ancestry" you do realize that the entire language family of the Middle east originated in Africa, In fact Ethiopia has direct contact with the middle east having once ruled yemen. Giving it's ancient name "Abyssinia" meaning mixed. The Portuguese eventually sailed to the eastern cape transporting slaves through conquest. So perhaps it's not "Afrocentrism" your just a tool.

Sorry, but tbt... The southeast and south region are mostly white (came from Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese and Italian diaspora).. By IBGE, which is the brazilian official geographic institute, we have 52% of White people, 8% of Black (Africans descent) and about 38% of Mixed. There's more Black people in the USA than Brazil... Go and search the truth and then do comments tho..

And so are you, when you say most Brazilians are of mixed race and black you are talking about a specific region which is the Northeast of Brazil.
