Gilberts felt like those free to play mobile games that show ads everytime you take 1 hit whereas alex made a game that actually looks and feels semi-complete.
I am a begginer in game development and for me it's so inspiring to create something like this in 24 hours, both of u guys are so amazing 😍, i hope one day i could also achieve that level of skills 😁
Absolutely love watching these kinds of videos. As someone who is getting back into game dev after YEARS, these are just so fun to watch, and are also very informative to some degree.
OK so here's an honest un biased vote, I like the roller robot one, the mechs look cool, has a mwnu, sound affects and unique game play, but I like the other ones voice and accent very soothing
Finally a new upload.I hate how almost every big game Dev stopped uploading since 2022.Glsd to see u back. Also,as a fellow game dev, I completely understand why you may have taken a break.I'm glad Ur back but please don't feel pressured to start uploading a lot.Upload whenever u find the motivation and enjoyment.
OH MY GOD WHEN I CLICKED I DIDNT EVEN SEE WHAT CHANNEL IT WAS BUT YOUR BACK! Glad your back man, such a good video too! Keep it up man, I hope your doing great:) Have a wonderful day everyone:D
Can you little graphs in your animation tab and how did you smoothly add this shooting animation where the impact or the force exerted by the bullet actually animated s the gun so well
After having watched quite a few of these game jam videos, I've come to a few hardline rules: 1. Never scrap work 2. ALWAYS do something you're familiar with 3. This is not the time to be creative and experiment, get serious and efficient 4. Never fucking scrap work
Bro hella underated what the fuck. This man has such high quality. HIS OWN DESIGNED OPERATING SYSTEM FOR GRAPHICAL EXPLANATIONS LIKE CMON PEOPLE! Why you don't have more subscribers perplexes me.
ayyy I'm excited for the new video! I love your content its really inspirational. I'm glad you're uploading again. edit: made the comment more original instead of "first"
Hi! Really nice video! I have a couple of questions, how did you make the pc to be interactable and it rendered UI elements on it's screen. I'm trying to make a phone that would be called when a certain key is pressed. Using arrow keys you would be able to interact with it. Thanks in advance!
I apologize for the late response. It’s actually very simple. In this game I just used cubes and 3D text game objects. You can make the different menus by using empty game objects as the parents with the objects as the children. And toggling the parents on and off.
curious both of em had magnets involved, but i think magnetic rumble got more done in less time, or felt more complete, while the other has mechanics ive never seen before, which seems more fun if fully developed, i know that u lost a couple of hours developing another idea but, i would consider it fair
This is Alex Rak. My American arch-enemy. He's challenged me to the ultimate Unity gam-dev face-off, where we each get 24 hours to make a game, where the winner gets this exclusive print-out of this Minion art-and in the end, only you, the viewers, can decide who wins. But what you don't understand, couldn't possibly understand, is how badly I need this print-out. I don't expect you to get it, sitting on the other side of this screen, slack-jawed, gawping, munching on stale crisps you should have thrown out weeks ago. It's that kind of action I respect from you, fine, but the negative aspect of "men of action" is not the thoughtlessness but the inability to think. You cannot consider, you can't project yourself outward, you cannot, under any circumstances that could be devised to facilitate it, ever come within a thousand yards of comprehension of my indelible, my desperate, my aching and slavering desire for this print. That's fine, that's fine, O.K.? So you're not good at thinking. Good. Don't. Don't think. Just do what I tell you. Vote for me, it doesn't matter what I make, it doesn't matter if you see it or like it and it doesn't even matter if you're personal friends with Alex Rak or that you play golf with his father on the weekends. Don't think, don't even _feel._ Just do, do what I'm _ordering_ you to do right now, and vote my game the best, because not getting that print is unacceptable, not just for me but for you, and everyone you know. Why? Your loved ones will beg of you. Why didn't you vote for him? they'll cry in frantic agony. He only wanted the print, it was a silly little challenge, why would you make him do this to us? Didn't you love us? Vote Gilbert. I know you will.
if you go by complexity then shooting the running men heading towards you is better but if you go by creativity then the go cart game was the better choice I feel but overall both have their own unique taste to it and so Gud job guysss
is it possible to make an open world gta style game using that engine? if so, how difficult would it be to make as a group.. you and your friends should try to make a better more realistic gta
I actually love Gilbert's game idea, and most of the implementations, but the problems are just too great, as-is, to enjoy it. The enemies become too numerous, intolerably persistent, and there's no buffer between them touching you and you taking damage. At first it seems really easy, but then it quickly becomes annoying as you try to buy upgrades.
❤❤Hi Gilbert, thank you for creating such an awesome game development challenge! I really enjoyed watching your video and I particularly loved the robot game concept. I think it would be amazing if you could share the full tutorial or the Unity source file for the robot game. I believe that many of us would love to contribute and help to polish it up. If you are unable to share the Unity source file, could you perhaps provide some guidance on how we can create a similar game in Unity? I would love to try my hand at developing a game with a robot theme, and any tips or advice you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again for the awesome video and game development challenge, and I look forward to seeing more content from you in the future!🤩🤩🤩
Thank you, I’m so glad you liked it! Alex made that one so I’m not entirely sure how he did. I did tell him about this comment and he said he may consider making a tutorial or something!
I made them! It’s just a simple grass texture from free textures.com or something then I just overlayed a graph thingy. Thought of Garry’s mod for that.
You might be interested in Netvrk, it's a web 3 Metaverse that is being built which will soon start opening in small alpha tests to test out features. In Q3 they'll open up testing for their builders SDK. Netvrk will allow you to fully build out whatever you can imagine. Their SDK will likely allow building from complete scratch or with their own custom built assets. Their SDK is planned to be an in-game easier to use version of Unreal Engine / Blender where you can build straight into the Metaverse.
LET THE VOTES COME IN.. gilberts the love of my life >:)
I never want to go within 230ft away from your game
:D
Those metallic beings will haunt my dreams forever. Seriously though, you guys both did an awesome job with both games!
Definetly Gilbert's game would be 10x better if he took a longer amount of time on it.
Yeah ur right

The way u showcase the critics from other developers, just shows how authentic u are

12:28 the way he said “Can I have your legs please 🥺” had me DEAD
And instant sub the talent in not only the game dev skills but also the incredible editing deserves way more subs than you currently have!
Thank you! We recorded this in January so it definitely took me a while to put together 😅
@@GilbertGames Well worth it!
first video in a year, Goddamn!
Nice video though.
Gilbert the type of name imma name my rock I got in the cvs parking lot
I LOVED BOTH GAMES! Going to have to give the vote to my boy @ Gilbert with Minion Magnets (FPS) but damn it was a hard choice!
Bro love your game and glad U made a new vid, now I'm waiting for Dani's and Codeer's comeback😁
I agree, idk where they at. Thanks!
i love how alex just casually used chat GPT to write code. like when did this just become normal?
video is hella lit, i shall take over alexe's game !

Returning trash to some point for small monetary reward is a no-fun mechanism. Rule of thumb: if it feels like work, probably not a good mechanism.
I feel like you’ve never played a game before
Seems like even just another 24 hours would have gone a long way to make these games more complete.
I definitely agree. Doing a 3 day challenge right now and it’s amazing what you can do with the other 2!
