Welcome to a sneak peek of Rodent Retribution! I'm so excited to finally show what me and a couple others have been working on :). I just got my Steam page up and just finished a quick trailer. It's kinda temporary as I just wanted one up as soon as possible! I wish I could have gotten some more clips such as boss fights, cutscenes and just showing off more guns and abilities. So I will eventually have to make a new one. Let me know what you think!

A new feature added. You can now grab objects and fling them around! I am going to make the spring stronger so the object won't bounce around everywhere. My next update should include throwing the objects with a single click and added force.

It works well while the player is standing, but for some reason the recoil starts to behave jerkily while walking.

Hi nice video, very relaxing!! I liked it, tough I ran into an issue which I think might be because of Cinemachine, the recoil seems to be fine (up) when looking one way, but going down looking the 180º the other way. Seems like it rotates in global instead of local even tough I use transform.localrotation on the update.

How could I make this script work on a camera system that doesn't use orientation to rotate the camera?
I think the only thing missing from this tutorial is recoil compensation, for me (in godot) the recoil seems to work very well except it does not have any compensation, I guess we need to code that in.
I know this video is 2 years old and you haven't uploaded in some time, but I still would appreciate if you we're to do a graphics guide because I just love how this game looks. The low-poly sci-fi style together with the post processing and perspective UI just looks incredible for an indie game.

at 6:53 how did you manage to add an ammo counter onto the gun itself? using a canvas or?
Anyone knows how to make the animations for an automatic pistol or rifle work? The problem for me is when i use autofire with an animation (slider, kickback etc) and lets say the animation length is 0.4 seconds, even tho the shot is being fired every 0.2 seconds, it waits for the animation to finish and after that it can restart the animation with the next shot fired. Please help me with this problem
How would you implement a system like this into a scriptable object, my gun system is tied into SO's but you cannot reference for example the camera transforms at all into said SO's.

Hey @Gilbert, I've been watching your recoil tutorial and I really would appreciate if you could help with recoil compensation, I can't find any guide and I've been working on it for months.

It seems to change the recoil direction off of the world x y z rotations of the camera and not the local rotations meaning the recoil moves up when looking at y = -180 and when looking anywhere else it doe not work as intended and gets further off balance the farther you look from -180 y. Any ideas?

because of the way localrotation works your camera jumps side to side while shooting. is there any way to prevent this besides having all camera movement on one object?
I found the skeet-shooting way too difficult. It took me a little while but I finally was able to clear the 4th level, but the 5th wrecked me so badly that I didn't even feel it was possible.
I actually love Gilbert's game idea, and most of the implementations, but the problems are just too great, as-is, to enjoy it. The enemies become too numerous, intolerably persistent, and there's no buffer between them touching you and you taking damage. At first it seems really easy, but then it quickly becomes annoying as you try to buy upgrades.

He's challenged me to the ultimate Unity gam-dev face-off, where we each get 24 hours to make a game, where the winner gets this exclusive print-out of this Minion art-and in the end, only you, the viewers, can decide who wins. But what you don't understand, couldn't possibly understand, is how badly I need this print-out. I don't expect you to get it, sitting on the other side of this screen, slack-jawed, gawping, munching on stale crisps you should have thrown out weeks ago. It's that kind of action I respect from you, fine, but the negative aspect of "men of action" is not the thoughtlessness but the inability to think. You cannot consider, you can't project yourself outward, you cannot, under any circumstances that could be devised to facilitate it, ever come within a thousand yards of comprehension of my indelible, my desperate, my aching and slavering desire for this print. That's fine, that's fine, O.K.? So you're not good at thinking. Good. Don't. Don't think. Just do what I tell you. Vote for me, it doesn't matter what I make, it doesn't matter if you see it or like it and it doesn't even matter if you're personal friends with Alex Rak or that you play golf with his father on the weekends. Don't think, don't even _feel._ Just do, do what I'm _ordering_ you to do right now, and vote my game the best, because not getting that print is unacceptable, not just for me but for you, and everyone you know.
