You spoke about that one area where you thought might be a place where you find arrowheads, etc. What you will find there is the old Dickey cemetery with about 40 slave markers as well. About 500 yards away from there is the original well for the property (it's now hidden). James Dickey is the great-great grandson of the people buried there. Who is James Dickey? He is the author of Deliverance!

We are going up next week (May 25-ish, 2023). I won't hold you to it, but do you think the water would be deep enough for a canoe with 3 people in it? I am just doing some recon for some river paddles in the canoe.

Would love to fish this section in my pedal kayak. Couple questions. How deep is the shallowest area? Could I pedal back upstream to the start? My pedal kayak can get up to 4mph if I put forth the effort.

This is not a great stretch for a pedal kayak. LOTS of shallow water. I'd be afraid to ruining my pedals in rocky areas. I also would not recommend trying to pedal up stream either. There are plenty of strainers and bottle necks that would post a problem. If you want to fish it, leave the pedals at hold and drift to a takeout downstream.

Did I miss total float time?

5ish hours. It really depends on if you paddle through or float.
