    Just tore my Achilles tendon completely 3 weeks ago.. been having pain for years exactly at the middle part of both soleus’ where you showed the second trigger point. Brushed it off as normal tightness for a soccer player…
    So I tried stretching in Dorsiflexion which actually increased my range of motion significantly, but did not address the soleus pain.
    Now I’m 3 weeks after surgery and my other leg’s soleus was hurting so bad I told my physio about pain in this area , he did myofascial release and It feels like heaven, regained range of motion in dorsiflexion no Achilles tendon pain it’s incredible.
    Please have this issue adresses if you don’t want to and up in a cast like me …

      Sorry to hear about your Achilles injury, but it's great to hear myofascial release worked very well for your soleus pain. Your experience highlights the importance of not ignoring persistent pain, even in athletes. Seeking professional advice early can prevent more severe injuries. Thanks for sharing your insight-it's a crucial reminder for everyone. Wishing you a quick recovery!

    The whole idea of high heels is pretty crazy. Torturing the foot just to be stylish. Heck, why not also slip a very tight corset around the midsection to add extra suffering?

    How do we fix it? I get intense burning in my calves every time I go on my morning walks. I have to stop and rest often. But this only happens when walking fast and long.

    Why trigger points refer the pain? What is the mechanism happening in body or muscle?

    • @Nielasher
      @Nielasher  2 года назад +1

      Hi @dreamyourdestination6214,
      There are a number of theories that have been proposed with regards to trigger point and referred pain. Travell and Simons lean towards the convergence- projection theory, simply put there are more nerve endings in tissues than receptors in the spinal chord which in effect overloads the receptor and is felt elsewhere. Central Sensitisation is another theory that has been proposed whereby an area of the dorsal horn becomes highly irritated. Other suggestion include Hyperexcitability, a combination of the previous two and thalamic convergence. Pain and the human body being the complex subjects they are probably involve all these elements, at one point or to some extent.
