idk what Pat is saying but is the stock going to drop further? and if I were to buy the stock when it's around 100B market cap, does Intel have any cash to pivot? AI is a big space; I have no doubt that intel can do it. i'm a bit confused.. couldn't intel also make Nvidia GPUs? and make CUDA better?

I am curious abt expenses in ifs for various factories and r&d. R&d expenses in technology is huge as u can see tsmc, not to say intel still need to expense in data center and client segment r&d. Basically their r&d expenses is tsmc + nvidia/amd 😢 Does their earnings able to cover those?

Intel was into AI chips (machine learning, neural networks) with their ETANN platform 80170NX in 1989, but dropped that effort. Those of us in the field did not like that as we needed those accelerators. I assume Intel saw their mission to continue make chips for PCs in eternity. So for the last couple of decades, Intel has been overrun by everyone who saw the needs in the future.
