    Good Day Everyone
It’s Dusten Huebner here from Electrician Information Resource.
In today's video, we are going to go on a journey. This is going to be the beginning so it's going to be another day in the life of an industrial electrician. And I got a lot of work to do that I want to try to capture on film and take you guys on the journey with me.
Pretty much out there there's a disc stack unit and I got installed a VFD in there. The motor that's in there it can't start across the line. So we need a soft start VFD control, there's a PLC out there. So we've got a lot of control wiring within that unit right out there you can see it called bald and we got to tie it into DCS and the control for the entire facility. So I'm gonna walk around them.
So you see here and show you guys from the main control center that we got to control that one, VFD and PLC inside that building. So here it is guys. This one there is for motor control drill off the facility. And this is where we have our DCS controlling devices throughout the facility. For here we got a bunch of analog inputs some outputs down below here we got a bunch of discrete inputs and outputs and we got to tie into some of these Spears here to get some control feedback from that VFD and PLC out there. And then we got some Fios, which are discreet outputs, which control some actions out in that an out in that building. So doing here, we've got to take some wires here. This goes to a junction box out in the field. Then we've got to tie into, those will end up being in there.
So yeah, this is a fairly large project. I got to do red lines and do all the control wiring design pretty much. So I've got to draw it out. I've been starting here with some of my drawings and I've got to go through all my prints and tie this all together. So the DCS, which is what you're looking at right now, that's the main computer and where the main control comes from. So it'll tell things in that building to start and stop. Plus we also have this stack feed pump motor for this VFD right here, controls the out in the tank farm, which feeds on oil to that building. And we got to tie all of this together. So there's quite a bit of work to do. And I want to take you guys on the journey with me, so I'm going to try to record me doing red lines so you can get an idea of that. And we're going to be going through the DCS, all the control wiring there, plus going out in the field and installing that VFD. It's a big, it's a big cabinet. It's heavy and yeah, it should be fun. It's a lots of work guys. I hope you enjoy this. And this is going to be episode two of the day in the life of an industrial electrician. So stay tuned guys.
