EPROM is a family friend of mine and Greg has always been someone Sander was talking about. Always saying "dude this guy Greg is making such insane music". Greg has blossomed into an insanely talented visionary that keeps pumping out perfection.
Thats so cool! I sometimes like to imagine what being close friends with someone like Greg or Sander would be like, and getting to hear all this cool stuff they are making and hearing about their shows
G Jones is probably the most inspiring artists to me that isn't what I would call "famous" whatever you define that as. Virtual Self was my favorite Porter era and that got me into G Jones, and man this man is a legend. Everything he puts out sounds so true and expressive and after being a fan of his music I strangely feel like I know so much about the guy. Not in a weird, parasocial way but in an exploration of the artist's mind by his art alone. I can feel his influences and interests off of his music so easily, he does such a good job at expressing his ideas through music. I can only hope to achieve the same artistic visions as G Jones has.
Colorado has been on the G Jones vibe for a minute and he's absolutely one of the most overwhelming shows to experience, I've literally seen the dude terrify people with the intensity he brings - an emotional response that refuses to conform to any borders... is this happy or sad music? what should I be feeling? why do I have to label emotions in the first place? his vibes literally glitch out reality and the human experience... dude is an alien, and I highly recommend anyone reading this to go to his show if you get the chance
In every bit of art he creates, the boy genuinely seems to be in true constant contact with the greater force(s) behind everything. Living in that space, and translating that experience+information into an audio form. As to your point of the impact his performances have: when we were all exiting night 2 at the Caverns recently, everybody was nearly completely silent. No riff raff. There was no ROOM for any riff raff or acting up! Just trying to integrate everything we were just blessed with.
@@Cegros I was at the caverns too and your comment is on point! Everyone I met there was incredibly kind and in good spirits. I think we all silently understood we were experiencing something special. After I walked out of the cave the first night (GPROM night), the first thing I said was “that was the best set I’ve ever seen.” I almost feel spoiled! I just went to Mersiv and boogie t at red rocks and while I had a good time, the Caverns is still so fresh in my mind and moved me to the point where I couldn’t avoid comparing those sets with what we got in Tennessee and feeling like they were just lackluster. It will definitely be a hard one to beat. Sorry for the rant but just thought I’d add my two cents! All I want is more G Jones curated events!
seeing G Jones live in last year was one of the best experiences of my life, I love how he fuses the old school rave aesthetic with what I love about the dubstep/trap sound. Every song is such an homage to the 20th century rave sounds that I've fallen in love with it.
