  • Over the past 15 years, there has been a dramatic decline in the global burden of malaria. Since 2000, nearly 60 countries have reduced their malaria cases by 75% or more, and the rate of new cases has decreased by 37% globally. But our journey is far from over. In 2015 alone, more than 400 000 people died of malaria, and there were 214 million new cases of the disease.

This is quite true. In my village, we hardly get sick with malaria anymore nowadays. It will be a good idea to find out if this is due to healthy environment or partly because most of us have become resistence to the parasite

Congratulations on the excellent video! Another step? Consistent and high-quality malaria data to guide program implementation and to measure achievements.
Malaria cases are often concentrated in geographic areas or among specific populations. A strong malaria information system-including effective surveillance, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), and a strengthened routine health information system -can provide timely and reliable data. That data can help identify and address target populations and inform decision making and the implementation of new strategies, including potential vaccines.

This campaign has significance in light of global warming. Global warming leads to changes in ecology of organisms and that means relitively minor disease outbreaks can become major pandemics.

Imagine a villain who dresses up as a big furry Mosquito and just releases malarial mosquitos onto unsuspecting victims.
