I don’t justify burning crops because that’s what pollutes the most there, but I get it why they do it. Farming has turned into a low income business these days, they don’t have machinery or equipments to remove residual plantation. Also people do old school farming in these areas, modernisation has not reached there yet or if it has people are too rigid to accept it

Marc, slipstreaming behind a truck is good for your battery, but really bad for
your health. The exhaust smoke from diesels in Europe are all heavily filtered
and cleaned through catalytic converters. The Diesels in Asia may not be.
Take care of your lungs, move out from behind trucks or wear EN95 mask.
You'll be glad you did later. All the best.😅

@@peekingowl4074 That may be true for new trucks/buses, but anyone can
see that what covers Marcus's face and fills his lungs, is definitely NOT coming

emissions and vehicle safety equivalent to European standards? Are they as
      strict as Germany's TUV?

    • @anonymousalpha

All the heavy vehicles in India from 2005 have the BS6 STANDARD and required pollution under control ( PUC. ) CERTIFICATE+ In India petrol is mixed ethanol about 5% and 45°C in normal in india so might see black smoke coming from large goods container truck

It's plain to see Marcus's face is filthy partly from sweat

behind trucks when young, and a truck mechanic for nearly forty years.
We've all seen the clouds of reek belching from some of the
trucks/buses that Marc's slipstreamed, especially on hills, and they

It always puzzles me that they hide the chargers? Many on your trip are almost inaccessible, if you were driving an EV car it would make things very difficult. Great videos Marc, I have never missed a single one.

That is a long way in one go on a bike... after a few hundred kms it stops being fun to ride. Take time to enjoy my friend. Stay safe.

16:50 Those are mostly farmers clearing off leftover from the earlier crop. That is the worst thing our farmers are doing. The farmer is doing this to quickly prepare the fields for next crops but this kills all microorganism that makes plant growth possible. Fire in your field reduces your crop output.

Hey Marc, I am a rider. One of my experience I was riding on the ghat section at night and it was raining heavily. The vehicles coming from the opposite side project very high beam. Since it was raining heavily. It was quite a nightmare. I can tell very well from my experience how you have felt riding on those roads. Yeah, to add on i can completely co-relate how you felt riding an entire night

Bro you are way better than other bikers who set a day Target of 600 km and stay in a room comfortably. Night riding is like dream. Also do always carry mosquito repellent cream specially during night.
