Explore those open areas in the rock biome with the glowing things you break, you’ll eventually find a musket that does 214 damaged per hit. It’s the best range I’ve found. You can also find these rings that do +17% range damage and the one jewelry station necklace does another 10% the iron armor head piece (‘I think) has even more range damage. So you can get like over 300 per hit especially if you start upgrading your range stats.
You can just craft the rings that gives you +17% ranged damage and the golden necklace in a Jewelry table. Also, if you're lucky enough, killing those Caveling shamans have a very low chance of them dropping their fire staff, which imo is better due to DOT damage and faster attack speed despite dealing less damage then the musket.
The cheese, for this boss, is to wall off the spawn points and you should be able to easily kill the boss. Also don't forget to eat food for buffs Z. Also if you destroyed the second boss you should get a second npc guy that allows you to buy a flintlock ranged weapon. Unless it was because I got lucky and found it first before finding the second guy and he only sells it afterwards. The Grubzooka isn't really that great, but it is amazing for clearing out the walls in the dirt biome. Although now you definitely will want to use a railway for faster travel. Last tip: Talk to the core again, after lowering the wall, to get a direction for the new biome.
Make sure to check the lone destructible chests, I've seen at least two in first part of the video - they sometimes have unique loot in them, like shield or a utility to enable active dodging
A huge suggestion...add walls around the spawn point of the red guys you can see the 4 spots around boss top left right bottom left right....it will hold the spawn behind walls long enough hit boss dodging its acid

I clicked the wall to bring it down and it came down only on my visible screen and stayed up for the rest of the map. RIP. Now I have to start a new world and kill the bosses again.

btw get the traders in your base ( habitable room is no bigger than 8x8 and must be wood walls and wood door with 1 unclaimed bed and the npc item)
