Lil Bibby: I Got Arrested Over 60 Times Between 14-21 & Twice in One Day

- By the time Lil Bibby turned 21, he'd realized he's been arrested over 60 times while trying to enter Canada. The Chicago native says his arrest streak started when he was 14 and explained that most of his incarcerations were during his late teens years. "I would say [between] 17-18, it was probably 20 [times] a piece." He said that he would skip school and stand on the corners when most of his interactions with authorities in what he calls "red zones"-areas which gives police jurisdiction to stop and frisk anyone at any time. "I was standing outside doing what I was doing everyday." He said, "Our neighborhood is so bad, they call it a red zone and the police could do whatever they want to you."
At some point, the rapper remembers having an epiphany while being in the bullpen with his much older cellmates and drug addicts and told himself "'I'm too smart for this s***.' So after that day, I just took rap serious."

I'm not with that life and never afraid to admit that. That's well respected in Chicago and even though I still got shot twice. My nephew got killed. All I ever wanted to do was start my own business become successful and get my family out of the hood. Btw, I know guys like Bibby and respect them, but will never hesitate to check then if I had to and they do listen and respect me also the way I respect them.

In Chicago if you live in certain neighborhoods then you can get arrested for mob action or gang activity if you walk with more than two people at a time. I grew up in Little Village, 26th street, and from the age of 11 to 15 I was arrested a couple dozen times on these charges.
