Stumbled across your channel when looking for my own club, Sand Martins. Really enjoy your content, it’s very relatable. I have played The Brabazon and not among my favourites either, but iconic due to Ryder Cup memories.
Ah nice! Glad it’s finding the right people! Loved sand martins, and yeh, completely overrated, won’t be going back anytime soon… subscribe if you enjoyed and haven’t already 👍🏼
@@Gimme_tv Come back in the summer, it’s a fantastic course and we are lucky to have the best greenkeeping team who present the course immaculately. Already subscribed 👍🏼
One of your best videos.👏👏👍Great drone footage. Brings back great memories when I went to the British Masters a couple of years ago. Very inspiring to get there again but too bloody 🥶 for me at the moment…Was it expensive to play?
Cheers Rich! Good to hear, it was £75 mid week so not too bad, but a bit underwhelming to be honest! I’ve played better for the same/less Monday, hate to say it!
Really enjoyed the video Martin…again a few shots wasted around the greens..another trip to the Par 3 at Wycombe could be worth it 😂😂you seemed a little underwhelmed by the course..is it worth a visit?always fancied it!
Haha yeh the greens kinda screwed me, haven’t played greens that fast in a while! Yeh I dunno, feel like I’ve played at better courses for less money! In the summer I can imagine it would be impossible but I’m not paying £100+ for a round!
Really enjoyed this vlog. Hate to tell you this, you had a triple bogey 7 on the 10th not a 6. I do not think that course is worth the money, yourself? Would you play it again?
Yeh I thought I counted it wrong but didn’t check it before uploading! Yeh I totally agree, not worth the money, greens were great but the rest of the course was a bit meh, playing old thorns tomorrow so hopefully that lives up to the expectations!
@@Gimme_tvHope you have a good time tomorrow, I wasn’t that impressed with it… be interested to hear your thoughts once you have played it. More importantly, play well.
When did you play? I love the Brabazon course....but I can imagine it not being great in the wet. I can't see how the British masters and ryder cup etc. would play here if it wasn't great...maybe not a winter track
This was Thursday gone, yeh maybe, it was really boggy, I can imagine that was why, you can tell it’s awesome in good condition as the greens were insane, would not want to putt on those in the summer!
@@Gimme_tv 😂😂hats off to you for playing in the cold.Maybe being a wimp in my old age but ain’t getting out there until it warms up a little bit… ☀️☀️☀️
@richs2290 it wasn’t too bad, 8/9 degrees, that’s bareable! Can’t wait for spring that’s for sure! I have a coastal series lined up with some gorgous courses in the diary so look forward to that’
Eevry approach shot was short.. but you didnt spot the pattern... like the first couple of greens would give you an idea of speed then the pattern of short on approach shots should have been spotted... your numbers (even for a young strong ox) were ambitious... its not the best you can hit your club.. its average.. and oh wait! its winter so they go less... if you are going to play those numbers to those clubs then play to the back of the green and see the difference in your game... you never got close once and "most amateurs never take enough club and come up short" is the single most commented by pro's at pro ams....
Yeh I totally agree, I don’t think I factored in the cold, but the greens were quick and most were sloped back to front, the starter said to be short, most were intentional, but yeh i get what you mean appreciate the feedback, defo something I need to work on for sure 👍🏼

@marknowell1766 I’ll be back! It’s a very well kept course I completely agree, cheers mark!

The pga is a better course imo
@Willsbrainmatter yeh I played it a few years back, will have to go around again to compare!
What courses would you say are better for less money?
@@chrislaing8444 just played the old thorns and that’s great value, £60 on the weekend on winter tee rates, where are you based?
Nice camera work!!
Thanks bud!
"needs to go"- air mails green. I think I found another member of my tribe.
😂 I struggle to gauge the ball in the air quite often, better of keeping my mouth shut I think 😂
Playing it tomorrow, so this is very timely!!
Ah! Hopefully you’ll have it a bit drier than I did, enjoy, greens are fast!!!!
Subscribe for good luck 😉
@@Gimme_tv Very windy but dry and yep, those greens had some zip. Nice course, would be keen to see it later in the year when its at its best.
@theythinkimmadyouknow oh yeh absolutely, it’s bloody expensive in the summer though, I think it’s around £130?
@@Gimme_tv Yeah, which is why I've never played there before!!!

Makes sense
That 10th green is a bit daunting... especially from where you played it!
Off there next month again so hopefully it's dryer
@gpharvey717 yeh it is 😂 I got unlucky, hope it’s a bit drier for you! Enjoy
Maybe you should have said can I break 90 😂😂😂😂✌️
Yeh maybe but didn’t want to be hard on myself 😂
