This video has been in the works for months (years to be completely honest) and it was so close to not happening at all - making the cosplay was an epic journey for my sewing skills, scheduling the harp session was tricky...but finding a church willing to let me film there was the most daunting task, and I was so fortunate to have scheduled it literally one day before the Nashville tornado, and one week before quarantine started. It was like all the stars aligned so that this video could happen, I am SO unbelievably grateful.
I first had the idea to do this track years ago, and it was always a bucket list video idea - filming Flowers Blooming in the Church, inside a real church. Back then I had never ventured outside of my room to film, and hiring a film crew was out of the question. Well, THAT last part of it still is, haha, but this marks the first time I have ever scheduled an on location video shoot! The cost of renting a place is still way outside of my budget, but I was incredibly fortunate that the wonderful people at Vine Street Church were willing to help me out with this! Seriously, the first place I asked quoted me $1200, and the second just wouldn't allow it at all 😅 - but I lucked out because this really was the PERFECT location, and the lighting that day was just right as well :)

So grateful I was able to pull of filming this dream video idea a week before quarantine happened! This is definitely already the year of Final Fantasy on my channel, but I also have lots planned to pay tribute to my favorite in the series, FF7

That hits hard right when the violin starts.
This song was a formative part of my youth, teaching me about loss before the loss in my life really started happening.
Now when I hear it I think of everyone I've lost and how grateful I am to have spent the time with them that i have.
I'm glad to see you do this one justice.
My eyes are tearing up and that's not a bad thing.
The second half of this when the second melody line came in, oh my goodness.... (it was wonderful already but that part!!!)
For me, Aeris's theme is probably the single most emotionally charged song in the whole Final Fantasy franchise. You two really did it justice. You should be very proud of yourselves. I certainly am. :)

I have been diehard Team AeriS myself, but I think with the remake coming out I will finally surrender to the current canon spelling 😃
yeah I distinctly remember the Aeris death song being the first time I ever felt seriously emotionally impacted by a game. Then when you go back and play it again and realize the music playing when you first meet her in the church is a revision of that death song------- right in the feels! Pure gut wrenching sadness.

This is effing wicked nice scene play and wicked strings almost takes ya back to those days when ya first saw a game in 3d and could basically convince your parents it's ok to play this video game all day, because of all the reading.

I came in hoping you were going to use harp like that. Very beautiful, everyone!! I love how it's a little sped up. I think it's less sad that way, which I honestly prefer. Yes, the theme/idea behind the song is very bittersweet, but that's not at all what the Spirit of Aerith was about. Her story was really about finding the light in dark situations, spreading joy to others and healing the world around her to the best of her ability. I think this version promotes this idea well, since it leaves a little more room for optimism. Yes, there is sorrow and darkness in the world, but we can easily make it brighter if we want.
Thank you! I guess we did speed it up a bit, tbh even at this speed it was painfully slow for how long the melodic lines have to be held 😂 A deceptively difficult piece to play, but I love it
