Just want to say, loving all the positive comments. I completed the game 100% and got the platinum trophy and I STILL want to go back and play it. The soundtrack is absolutely astonishing. I’m just glad everyone here appreciates the game so much, too! Much love
As a first time player, idk why, but this song playing while they're walking the rooftops together was just so special to me. It's perfect. One of my favorite moments
Oh god do yourself a favor and don’t look up how the game ends. Go at it fresh. You’ll laugh. You shake with rage. you cry for joy, you tear for sorrow. You cheer for victory. Amazing story.
I work in kindergarten and I always put this song on for kids' nap time. I was on a sick leave for a few days and when I came back, they asked me to put this song on again because they couldn't sleep without it. Aerith is calming them down it seems ❤️
Can just say that's awesome. I can imagine those kids later somewhere in life discovering this theme and remembering it from their childhoods. Something like: "Hey, I recognize this this tune! My kindergarten teacher played this for us during nap time!" Just a little something that came to mind. Again, you're doing something great for those kids.
I got platinum yesterday. FFVII is very important to me, because I played it in 1997 on PSone, my Dad bought it for me and we played it together. I was 19 years old at the time and didn't know much English, but my Dad did. He translated everything and I watched, listened and learned. What I know about English I owe it to FFVII and my Dad. Dad died on March 4 of COVID and every time I hear Aerith's tune, I remember those moments. Thanks Dad, I will always remember you.
May your Dad return to the planet and be at one with the lifestream man I'm sorry for your loss. May FFVII live on forever in your memory for your Father
That's exactly how I came to find FF7 too. My pops got it for us when we were kids, still remember what he named everyone in the party. I was 7 when it came out
No problem, its an amazing theme. Nostalgia just hits you like a truck not caring how hurt you are while you just lay there in bliss that is this song. Bringing back everything from long ago. Funny how those feeling never really disappeared. The power of good music
Once you get to the playground near Sector 7 with Aerith, she'll eventually ask if you're ready to go. I swear, if you answer "No" repeatedly, Cloud sounds more and more as if he's beginning to remember her fate. It's as if he too wants that moment with Aerith to last forever. What made me cry was hearing her say, "Are you okay?" toward the beginning of the game. Hit me pretty hard. Was like an acknowledgment of the 23 years between 1997 and 2020.
Oh my lord same , even relitening to it now I think of how lonley I am. The first man I ever loved was a living copy of zack , I lost him around the same time I was playing crisis core and even now , I think back at those days of youth and joy and this music warms up my heart

This part of the game is unbearably full of meaning and beauty to me. Just the fact that Cloud, a troubled and somewhat broken person, is saved in his fall by a bed of flowers. That you can be saved by flowers, which are something like a physical manifestation of the love and care that Aeris carries in her. It's kind of funny that she falls into his arms a little later, ("my hero!"), when it's actually Cloud who fell into her arms, or her flowers anyway. I feel like the imagery is so rich I could go on about it all day. That the church is wounded (broken roof), and that it's actually the "wound" that lets in light so that flowers might grow. Kind of makes me wonder if it's a minature of the whole game, where Sephiroth tries to destroy the planet, but instead the wound he creates becomes a gathering place for the life force (sorry, spoilers!) and the Holy. It marks the growth of something new, a birth rather than the death that was supposed. Just like the flowers. There's just so much contained in that broken down church and the bed of flowers, makes me cry every time.
I've always found the level of detail paid to fantasy by the Japanese has come to prove their creative superiority in the modern world, there used to be deep thought in European fantasy such as what was seen in Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, but ultimately it's died off and the torch has been undeniably passed on.
@@granzedora It was a different time. Especially coming home to play this game on my PS1. It's a pretty bittersweet thought that times are far more complex these days and you simply wish to grow up doing what these characters do in the game.
There's just something so special watching veteran and new players just immediately soften and get emotional hearing her music. For veterans its just "I just wanna hug you and never let go" and new players get to be comforted and discover just why people love Aerith so much. Its such a nice breather even after the Reno fight.
The scene where you go to Aerith’s house for the first time and go to the 3rd floor to see the entire garden made me burst into tears from so many emotions. 7 is very special to me.
My grandmother past away a couple of days ago, this is going to be one of the songs we play at her funeral. I played this song to her once and she said it was so beautiful. She introduced me to the world of videogames when I was just 4 years old when she bought me a Sega Master System. She loved her garden and her flowers, she was a flower girl just like Aerith, the most selfless and caring person I have ever known, just like Aerith. I probably replayed the rooftop scene in Chapter 8 with this playing in the background a hundred times. The playful banter, the peaceful and romantic music, taking in the sights of Midgard. It was all so wonderfully put together and it's probably my favorite scene in all of Remake. Masters of the craft showing us how it can be done!
I just stopped playing, put the controller down and just listened to this song. It was at this point in the game where I realized this was no dream, my favorite all time game remake was real. This song brought back so many memories, so many hours playing and loving this story and characters. The FFVIIR crew made dreams come true and made the impossible real. I still cannot believe this game is real sometimes....
This is legit one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard in my life. I been listening it to at least once a day since I first played the game when it first came out. Best remix ever, rare a remix is better than the original. This is a remix that sounds like it would be the original cuz it uses classical instruments, as opposed to the actual original which is more electronic.
I’ve never played the original game, so I had no idea what I was walking into. And the second I saw Aerith I absolutely fell in love with her. It’s weird, I didn’t think it was possible to feel something like this for a fictional made up character, but it felt like true love. Every moment I had playing this game was amazing, but anything with Aerith was just on an entirely different level.
It’s amazing what square has created here.. What a beautiful love dynamic that has touched millions.. Aeriths theme has always and will always touch my heart. It’s such an enchanting melody that captivates my heart with feelings of happiness and warm feelings. It’s quite difficult to explain... And with this remake, square being able to expound on Aeriths personality; to express her character in ways that was not possible before made me fall in love with her, the Cloud and Aerith dynamic all over again. She’s so pure, outgoing, an uplifting personality that could cheer anyone up... goofy, she’s so lovable. This song will always have a special place in my heart. I can’t wait to see where the rest of the remake journey takes us... scared of course because we will have drawn/connected closer to her character... but I can’t get enough of her... One can only hope..
I love the subtle modulations between A Major and C sharp minor. I’m not saying this in a pretentious way at all, but it’s just that I’m a music student and the back and forth between these two keys shows the conflict between the purity of Aerith in relation to Cloud and the underlying tragedy knowing what will enfold. It’s just brilliant how music can express that which lies beneath so accurately if you’re willing to listen
This song always makes me so sad. I returned to the church without Aerith and the little girl asks where's the flower lady and it makes me feel just sad. I know it's just a game but it's just something
The last time I played through the original and went back to the church and saw this, I had to stop playing for a good 10 minutes to cry. It just broke my heart
I played the original game when it dropped back in ‘97-I was a sophomore in HS. Truly a magical experience playing that game as an adolescent. I couldn’t wait for the remake... so much anticipation about being able to spend more time with these characters I fell in love with 20+ years prior. When Cloud wakes up in the church-seeing it in 3d with the remixed soundtrack-I just sat there and listened for like 30 mins, just taking it all in, with tears streaming down my cheeks. I didn’t want to leave the church in the slums and return to the real world of pandemics and quarantines... it was the perfect game at the perfect time this summer, IMO.
Its been 4-5 years since and I am still in awe of this one track. Its not even one that I was excited to hear, it kinda flew under the radar in the original but man, this is incredible. The choice of instruments, the progression and the way it builds up all make so much sense and totally transform this track yet still keep its original composition. I spent decades imagining how good an orchestrated version of the FF7 soundtrack would sound but nothing came close to what we got. This will forever go down as my go-to example on how to properly recreate a soundtrack.
song never fails to make me cry. this is beautiful and has helped me on my worst days. a reminder to me that things are gonna be okay. thank you to the ff7 music team fr
getting ff7 remake has let me relive my first ever video game in a whole new light i dont even care about the trophies just the pure excitement of experiencing something so close to my heart and the music absolutely amazing
Yep. When I first heard this play in the remake along with the whole rooftop conversation, I thought to myself “well crap. I’m totally not ready for what’s coming.”
Jesus Christ I wish I could listen to this without tearing up. I’ve never felt loss harder for a fictional character than Aerith. I really hope they don’t keep her alive just because they think that we won’t react the same. I will still be a broken mess when she goes. My fingers are tingling. My mouth is dry. My eyes are burning.
If anything, they are building up Aerith more so that if she is killed, it hurts even more. That's what I would do. try to get people REALLY attached to the increased character time and interactions with her, then murder her in front of the audience, just to make people hate Sephiroth even more than they might beforehand. Let the astute players DREAD her fate, and now, dread ZACK'S fate too, since it could be all up in the air.
i think what they may do it save ones who we thought were going to die (making a twist for those who already know plot) but kill off other characters instead. maybe not, im excited for what comes next either way.
I remember this being the part of the game where remake went from a fun game to a game that has stuck with me for all the years since it came out. I didn't play the og until recently, so it was all so brand new. Coming off the heart racing fight with the airbuster and the introduction to the turks, and then having this quiet moment with this playing in the background while you crossed the rooftops. Absolutely amazing moment. I always look forward to this part of the game, even after playing it four times (and counting probably)
Only recently finished the original for the first time. The scene where the OG ver of this plays in the church was straight up magical, so I'm so glad that I heard this playing in the rooftop scene
I really love this song too, I also think that this is one of the most beautiful songs ever... But... Be honest guys... A big part of "this love" is because Aerith. Aerith is this song, as this song is Aerith :)
To me, "Flowers Blooming In The Church" is Aerith's Theme, rather than the sad one we hear during the sequence where Elmyra talks about how she came to adopt Aerith and of course during her death sequence. This version is so beautiful.
I think that’s funny that the personality of Aerith change between the different game. In crisis core she’s young and always happy and shy. In the original game she’s a little immature but really sage and smart. In advent children she’s kind, smart and confiant. In the remake she’s funny, smart and sure of herself in what she is doing . I love all of the aerith (Sorry for the bad grammar, i’m not English .)
Ngl FF7R is the only FF game to ever nail Aerith's character, despite her appearance and her music theme would say she's energetic and extroverted, all of the precious FF and even KH games portray her as this holy untouchable maiden when she's not afraid to get her hands dirty at all. You know they've written a great character when they themselves struggle to write her
@@hairglowingkyle4572 Think that's the perfect description. Aerith's characterisation in CC (though I liked it) did annoy me a little because that _wasn't_ her true self. FF7R got it right.
Final Fantasy 7 captivated and stole the hearts of so many, myself included. I will forever know this as the best jrpg I have ever played. I cant wait for the remakes to be done so i can play all parts consecutively. I don't think I'd be able to stop after each part and wait years. i just dont have that in me. every time i hear aeriths theme it brings tears of joy, tears of sadness, and a sense of calm. this piece is so beautifully done. I am overjoyed a new generation will get to play this masterpiece of a game.
It's hard to improve on a track that was already so beautiful and emotional to listen to. But this game somehow did it, ten times over. This entire soundtrack is beautiful and memorable beyond words, but this is particularly noteworthy. When you're leaving the church, scouring the rooftops, taking in all the sights, chatting with Aerith, it's a truly magical moment of gaming. It makes me totally understand what gamers saw in this game way back in 1997.
This part of the game, my heart was pounding like crazy. I was so happy. Aerith reminded me of my very first love: Danielle. She was also brunette, beautiful and had brown coloured eyes. Her voice was so soothing and gentle. She was the girl of my dreams and I didn't get to be with her. No other women has made me feel like when I was with her. But this small portion of the game made me think about her. Just like Cloud, I too have a very hard time opening up to people. It started when I realised we weren't meant for each other. Yet, I think I will find someone who makes me feel something similar.
back when 1997 in the original game, square has made us fall in love with this girl. the character is something that you can't shrugg it off, but after we play a while..the cruel fate had us..., what a game..
The moment I heard this song I was filled with tears. The memories of the original game came flooding back in, the pure raw emotion that I went through. Final Fantasy VII means more to me than I can ever put into words. It got me through some of the hardest times as a teenager and I absolutely fell in love with the story and characters. It was the first game to make me cry over the death of a video game character.
I was super excited to play this game as a first timer. Out of all the chapters this was my favorite. I really loved their chemistry and the song is so good 👍 😭
*MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD! NEW FANS DO NOT READ!* ( _based on much later events on original game_ ) I have only just witnessed her death four weeks ago. I finally had the money to buy the original after witnessing and falling head over heels over this wonderful and charismatic flower girl in the remake. I was in pure denial when the sword killed her. I defeated the boss while in shock. After that, I got out of the game and turned off my Switch. It wasn’t until I watch moments of her from the remake was when I started to BAWL my eyes out. I now understand people’s feelings and emotions now listening to this theme again. It used to be pure and mystical but now it is overlaid with grief and lose. Rest in peace our beautiful flower girl. You are now one with the lifestream and the planet 💜
The fact you were able to experience the original game for the first time in 2020 and felt the same feelings many of us did 10-20 years ago is a testament to the franchise. Thank you for sharing your story.
@XeroX. ゼロックス...nah. I dunno what you're talking about. Her beloved/true love is Cloud. Aerith said it herself, even two years after her death. Their bond continues, and Aerith lives on in Cloud as portrayed in Advent Children so they are technically together once Cloud reached his Promised Land, just as the Planet told Cloud they could be.
I've completed this game ages ago but I dnt why I'm drawn to it u won't believe this game from PS1 back in the day brought so many memories just hurry up for part 2
I love how Aerith, a very fictional charactere just soothes my soul so hard and true. I was just 10 years old when i first watched my brother playing this game... until today i'm crying hearing this track. So heartwarming...
I only did my first full playthrough of FF7 last month (never got past Midgar in previous attempts). FF7 was never a part of my early gaming life. So the fact that this theme hit me so hard when playing FF7 Remake is both baffling and beautiful.
Its weird I had a shit home life back then This song and a few others from the era are my nostalgic warmth, i can whistle every note. Idunno if younger generations hold such love for this song, i assume they remember other songs. :)
While I'm not in the same situation you were (I actuslly consider my whole life up to this point as a 19 year old rather great), I also feel such an incredible sense of comfort when I listen to this song. It's absolutely beautiful
New to FF7 and I know the original story. But FF7R is obviously different from that. This time...this time I really hope Aerith and Cloud can get the happy ending together that was robbed from them in OG.
I love how this feels like a reliving of Aerith's life and that this is the final meeting Cloud and her will ever get......... it's like a fairy tail soundtrack 😭
I first got the remake for Christmas because I thought it would be a simple RPG to burn time with while at my mom's. This game was the best thing it could've been and then some.
THE MUSIC THAT SURROUNDS THIS GAME IS VERY SPECIAL TO ME, AND MORE WHEN IT COMES TO AERITH AND CLOUD, the music perfectly reflects what they are for each other, I would say that they intentionally left their relationship open, so that the people say colud should be with aerith and also others cloud should be with tifa! For me it is clear who she should be with, both had a tortuous and dark past (Aerith and Cloud), don't misunderstand me I also love Tifa, but Cloud and Aerith's relationship is magical, I even dare to say (spoiler ) that Aerith once being in the lifestream of the previous game (1997 original) learned how to say "Travel" through time and thus return to a moment or time in which she would meet Cloud again and this time definitely stay alive! Fate brought them together again (the first sequence of the game when Aerith gives the flower to Cloud), they must be together for the rest of their lives!
This is really weird for me. I've discovered ff7 really late. Like I've heard of the game but, i was never a big fan of the Jrpg genre. One of the only Jrpg i liked was Bravely default/ Second. So people talking about Aerith and watching a little bit about who she is, I didn't get why people liked her so much. I always compared her to other characters like Zelda, so why do people felt so bad about her or even cry about this. Then came out the ff7 remake...And I fell in love with all the character once. Then I played FF : Crisis Core just to know more about Zack. And I cried. And now, I'm playing final fantasy 7 on ps1 for the first time. And just thinking what will happen to her makes me feel really really bad. Especially knowing that i can't do anything about it and I just know that, if i keep playing, i'm just getting closer to this part. Fortunately, the remake is offering an alternative. I just wish i'll see what will come next with the next part of the remake.
Just want to say, loving all the positive comments. I completed the game 100% and got the platinum trophy and I STILL want to go back and play it. The soundtrack is absolutely astonishing. I’m just glad everyone here appreciates the game so much, too! Much love

Yes, same here. After playing Rebirth, Chapters 8 n 9 of Remake are even more precious now for the time Cloud spend with Aerith
It's like going back to the church and seeing the bed of flowers but no one is around

YES! I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR FF7 MUSIC THEORY FOREVER
Beautifully and well said - and so true!
A major = "A"erith
C minor = "C"loud
WHY DOES IT FIT SO WELL
George Haralampopulos I know what rope is. You should purchase some
@@metroidfoosion73 Only a suicidal person would come up with that. Seek help.
Ahhhhh I love Aerith so much
I barely cry when this one start during the flowers quest in Rebirth. I was not ready and i immediatly come herr after finishing this quest.
This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music literally ever created and I honestly don't think it's possible to top this.
Check out the OST “Nagisa.”
It’s imo better and has more meaning if you know the story.
The Final Fantasy VII theme played by the Distant Worlds Orchestra is the most beautiful piece I've ever heard.
apple bottoms jeans?
Nice to hear this again doing the first side mission for Chloe on Rebirth
This was the perfect lockdown game to take you away from reality for a while.
This will forever go down as my go-to example on how to properly recreate a soundtrack.
song never fails to make me cry. this is beautiful and has helped me on my worst days. a reminder to me that things are gonna be okay. thank you to the ff7 music team fr
send shivers down me back every time
getting ff7 remake has let me relive my first ever video game in a whole new light i dont even care about the trophies just the pure excitement of experiencing something so close to my heart and the music absolutely amazing
Agreed. They also need to remake Legend of Dragoon.
Jesse H. If Zack and Aerith are both alive, it’s not going to fit the narrative as well. Advent Children perfectly concluded their narrative
They are DEFINITELY going to save Aerith lol
This literally is the point of a beautiful masterpiece of music like this, it’s beautiful.
Here I'm back from Rebirth..
me too
I LOVE this rendition. But the original never fails to make me tear up instantly every time.
im literally crying at this rn
There’s such a powerful feeling I get while listening to this song. Truly peaceful
I really love this song too, I also think that this is one of the most beautiful songs ever... But... Be honest guys... A big part of "this love" is because Aerith.
Aerith is this song, as this song is Aerith :)
This is beautifully said💗
Thank you so much for sharing this. I will come back here to find some peace whenever I take a break from my review❤.
Final Fantasy 7 is my favourite Final Fantasy game
To me, "Flowers Blooming In The Church" is Aerith's Theme, rather than the sad one we hear during the sequence where Elmyra talks about how she came to adopt Aerith and of course during her death sequence.
This version is so beautiful.
This remake version of this song as absolutely gorgeous.
Loved this soundtrack, ill never forget walking across the rooftops with aerith, such a great way to introduce sector 5 and very pretty.
Just curious, was it your first time playing FF VII ?
It's more than just a game, It's a reminder of who we used to be
Couldn't have said better, that's exactly the point.
back when 1997 in the original game, square has made us fall in love with this girl. the character is something that you can't shrugg it off, but after we play a while..the cruel fate had us..., what a game..
The music makes my soul cry in a good way! When Nobuo leaves this earth, my soul will too! :(
Favorite track in Remake by far. Invokes the same emotions I as a kid. I found myself tearing up just walking along the rooftops. So much nostalgia
Cloud: Easy now.
Aerith: You worry too much. I'm not some princess who needs to be coddled- *ladder breaks* ...Shit.
I was super excited to play this game as a first timer. Out of all the chapters this was my favorite. I really loved their chemistry and the song is so good 👍 😭
Best rendition.
People wonder why I would pick Aerith over Tifa...it's not that difficult to understand, Aerith embodies love...
❤she truly does
Best cure of 2020 in pandemic period
Nothing I dreamed for a remastered soundtrack in the 20 years since playing FF7 ever came close to this.
Gonna have this played at my wedding
Thanks for this
Same dude, same
25 years old, and I've had cried for 1 hour since this song played in the REMAKE. Can't help crying...
My favorite song in both versions of FF7
They did an incredible job with the FF7 Remake Ost.
*MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD! NEW FANS DO NOT READ!*
( _based on much later events on original game_ )
I have only just witnessed her death four weeks ago.
It’s a bittersweet feeling isn’t it?
Rest In Peace Aerith Gainsborough. May you bloom as beautifully in the next life as you did in this.
hang on, you managed to play the remake first AND stay spoiler-free for her death? That's actually kinda cool!
Could u also play crisis core
This is in many ways better than the original. I really enjoy it
I've completed this game ages ago but I dnt why I'm drawn to it u won't believe this game from PS1 back in the day brought so many memories just hurry up for part 2
I love how Aerith, a very fictional charactere just soothes my soul so hard and true. I was just 10 years old when i first watched my brother playing this game... until today i'm crying hearing this track. So heartwarming...
One of my favorite parts of the game
I cant let go of Aerith
I only did my first full playthrough of FF7 last month (never got past Midgar in previous attempts). FF7 was never a part of my early gaming life.
So the fact that this theme hit me so hard when playing FF7 Remake is both baffling and beautiful.
This music is just... healing.
this song also saved my life
I love this! I listen to it everyday! THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Have You Ever Heard Something So Beautiful That It Made You Cry Tears Of Joy?
The soundtrack really is something else
this music is so moving.
She's out there in the lifestream, now.
With Zack 😢
Its weird
I had a shit home life back then
This song and a few others from the era are my nostalgic warmth, i can whistle every note.
This game makes feel so nostalgic even though i never played the original
That’s how you know they got it right
This is so beautiful
New to FF7 and I know the original story. But FF7R is obviously different from that.
This time...this time I really hope Aerith and Cloud can get the happy ending together that was robbed from them in OG.
I love how this feels like a reliving of Aerith's life and that this is the final meeting Cloud and her will ever get......... it's like a fairy tail soundtrack 😭
Really beautiful 😢
I hope Nobuo change his mind about retired, Part 3 deserve to be Nobuo final work
He's definitely coming back for part 3.
love this part ❤
Best theme of this game.
I need a 1 hour version of this!!
Hits you right in the feels like a sack of concrete.
I first got the remake for Christmas because I thought it would be a simple RPG to burn time with while at my mom's. This game was the best thing it could've been and then some.
Honestly my heart melts into a puddle just from the first descending perfect 4th on piano....
The best final fantasy game. No doubt. Final fantasy VII.
Beautiful
Fate brought them together again (the first sequence of the game when Aerith gives the flower to Cloud), they must be together for the rest of their lives!
this music
CloudStrife2911 Thanks for sharing and editing your comment to avoid spoilers ♥️
Cheers chap. Subbed.
Beautiful!
Ah, he lives! Finally awake, are we?
