Axe-FX II XL+ preset: axechange.fract...
This guitar came to me by way of a trade recently. So I thought I might as well give it some air time and demo the Seymour Duncan Five-Two pickups which are pretty great.
The guitar is supposed to be a replica of Robben Ford's '60 Telecaster. It's an MJT relic body, Musikraft neck and Glendale hardware, along with the Seymour Duncan pickups. With all due respect, I don't know much about Mr Ford or his old Telecaster so I haven't got a clue whether this one resembles it or not, but it sure is fun to play.
The backing track which I'd had all of two listens to (sorry for the fluffs at the key changes!) is yet another one from the great Guthrie Govan, this time "East City Northern Lights" from his 2012 Late Night Sessions album. ©2012 Guthrie Govan.
Came here to listen to the pickups for chicken picken. But dude, absolutely f****** incredible playing. Some of the best playing I've heard on RUclips in a long time
I am a big fan of MJT relics, and Duncan 5 2 pickups and Brett Kingman
You just sold me a set of 5 2 pick ups. My god that bridge sounds epic. Bravo old chap!
that bridge pickup sounds absolutely incredible
Clicked for a demo of the pickups and stayed for the chops. Awesome!
Wow. Just... wow.
That is some playing. The guitar sounds great, too.
Synchronicity, I was just checking out a MJT body on a buddy's guitar. they do really sweet stuff. I love the way this guitar is voiced!
That was incredible. Got an MJT tele too with Seymour Duncans. Nice playing! Perfect bends
Fantastic demo what a great ride listening to you play
Not only does this video reinforce my want for an mjt, but now it makes me want an axe fx xl! Damn you! haha.
Amazingly tasteful playing, so full of soul, and that tone!
F***K that is some great playing and some great tone. Thank you Brett! Gotta keep going thru your old videos. Awesome!
Just freaking awesome. Thank You
I am a big fan of MJT and have built quite of few Tiles and Strats with their bodies and parts. Great playing Brett!
Beautiful tone and playing gorgeous
Thanks, Anthony!
You pushed me over the edge. I've been checking out these pickups, and others, for six months now. Ordered a set today. Now, if only I had your chops...EDIT: I got them and quite like them. But..... I has seen your subsequent demo of the Kinman Broadcaster Gen-2, I might have tried them. No regrets on the 5 2's though, they tamed the spikeyness of the alnico 5 pickups I had before.
Bloody nice playing. Great tones too.
Gooooorgeous!
Brett, your reviews are brilliant!..This sounds incredible!..
Thanks!
Nice job man. Love that tone your getting with the volume and pick up switches.
Whooo came for the guitar stayed for the tasteful playing
So nice ! Beautiful !!
Really like your playing Brett. Nice variations in mood, tempo and intensity👍
Superb playing and tone!
Wonderful Video and such a great demo of the many possibilities from a Tele with the right tones!!!! You nailed the feel to a "T"ele!!!! :)
I have always loved the simplicity of the Telecaster config, it is all there isn't it - three major tone areas and the rest is up to you! Oh, and nice playing there Burgs
Sounds great! ME WANT!
That was so good ... sooo good. Oof. Thank you for sharing your talent like this.
This is amazing. I love the Antiquity Tele, but these also sound fantastic.
great playing!
Fantastic playing burgs!
Bravo !!!
this is awesome!
VERY VERY GOOD !!!
nailed it!
Nice guitar they are painting my Jazzmaster body ,+ neck right now, they do a nice job . The sd' 52s-sound good .
love your video , Really nice jam, I'm gonna have to look at you're other vid's Peace!!☮
....just yes!
AAAHHH, much better I got my daily dose of the Burgs groove!!! Im ready to go now!!!
Гитара звучит отлично!
Everybody complimenting for the pickups, probably nobody noticed the Axe FX II. Try playing that with a cheap amp or a cheap pedalboard, good luck in finding this tune.
Just realized that this came out wrong, it was definitely not meant to be a critical comment to the playing, just a thought about how many people think they can get that tone with only a pair of pickups! It's gonne be difficult even for experienced players! Cheers Brett!
WOWWHHEE! THAT'S AN AWESOME TELE- SOUND! By listening to that I think I've just found myself a set of great tele-pickup combo. Very balanced and yet two separate sounds that work very nicely together. What is that guitar you have, I mean who has made it? Very beutiful and ballsy! :-)
What’s the body colour actually called ? Blonde ? Vintage blonde ? Vintage white ?
Hey Burgs, great tones… how do/did you find the tone of these pickups… I have a set of twisted Tele pickups in my Tele and I find them thin and bright… so I’m looking a fatter tone but with enough top end… I reckon from your tones these should get me to the sound in head.
Thanks
I still love these pickups, Chris. The neck pickup could do with a little more chime, but the bridge pickup is almost unbeatable. I won't change either in this guitar, though. I haven't tried the twisted set so can't offer any comment there, I'm sorry. Cheers!
Awesome sound, awesome playing!
What do you think, these pickups are good for high gain rhythm as well?
Wow.
still using 5/2 bridge?
So what Is this color called?
British Teeth.
@@BrettKingman what the Tea does😄
What the height of pickups ? neck and bridge, thanks
I want to know too!
Ash body
middle position?
are MJTs as good as nash guitars ??
My question is: He only put his guitar signal to the Axe FX and that's all?
You can ask me, you know. I'm just here. 👋🏻 Yes. Just the AFX.
@@BrettKingman :D Yeah, you're right! It was just a tactic to get the reply much faster from you! :P I'm watching this video right now, and man, that sound quality is awesome!
You use your axeFX as your soundcard as well? Is it the raw signal, or did you do some mixing as well?
What do you think about these pickups though?
@@kalmandavid3669 Well, your tactic worked. :D Axe-FX III as soundcard: Yes. Raw from the Axe: Yes. Obviously I love the pickups. I haven't changed them since this video and won't be anytime soon. Highly recommended. Take care.
you build them ?
Is this one Ash or Alder body?
Great guitar, But I'd swap that pickguard out for a white/parchment guard. They never really aged like that.
they should have!
If you're here to find out about the Robben Ford Tele replica from another random guy in his bedroom, uhh, you're in for a nice surprise!
what is a mjt? mexican japanese telecaster? robben ford should take lessons from you...
Ha! I wouldn't mind a few from him! No idea what MJT stands for, I'm sorry.
@@BrettKingman from what i can ascertain it stands for michael and jenny guitars. first i have ever heard of them. nice job. thank you.
@@BrettKingman mjt means Mark Jenny telecaster. They are made in the us. High end relics of strat and teles. Custom made to your specs
