I was never into the hippie shit but have to admit that last clip with the drums was transcending. I used to play drums back in the day. This drum circle looks like so much love and fun it almost brought tears to my eyes. In reflection I realize I've become so caught up in sociopolitical issues that I've lost many human connections. My heart aches to have this back. Thank you for this video Amanda. Maybe we all have a little bit of hippie in us.
I didn't used to be into hippie shit either! It changed when I started this new life. I also used to play the drums - now I just exchanged my set for a djembe. Many of us have fallen victim to societal conformity. You are not alone. But van life has opened my heart and mind to the real value I crave - human connection and nature. ❤️
57 here. I currently work with law enforcement (with, not in) but like I always say, Once a Hippie, Always a Hippie. You can take the girl outta the hippie world, but you can never take the hippie outta the girl. I'm living proof of that. I've participated in the enthralling energy of drum circles and spontaneous music events many moons ago. I, like you, sometimes get too caught up in the irrational goings-on in the world. I can't wait til my time comes and I can once again rejoin culture like this here that Amanda shared.

@@ontheroadwithtenzin my stepdad was a Berkeley hippie. I started van life 3 months after he died from cancer. He'd be so proud of me. He had no idea how much I was constantly watching and listening - he inspired me, and I know he's always protecting me!
Loved the drum circle. I was a majorette in HS and always got excited when the drums started playing to begin our march. Even seeing marching bands in a parade brings tears to my eyes from my memories. Thanks BTW you have a wonderful beat on your drum.
I love hippie stuff too! ( Grew up with it) and a Roadtrek ( older) is on my radar too...just as soon as I hit the lottery! I have always loved Quartzsite..since I went the first time in 85! Cannot wait to get there in January!
WOW! The drum circle was awesome. I was just closing my eyes and really listening to the drums. It kind of reminded me about a Native American show that went on at my daughters elementary school one year. Loved it!
Fantastic video! This old hippie chick from Austin appreciates you and your free spirit! You are an inspiration to all of us. The drum circle looks and sounds amazing! I hope to be on the road by the Spring of next year.
Super cool, I love me some hippie sh!t too!😂 I hope to make it out there next year, can't wait! Love you and that sweet little punkin' Wynston 🥰. ☮️❤️😎
The nomad community is one the communities anyone can be a part of - in my opinion. When I try to explain it to "sticks & bricks" folks, it's really hard to convey. It is more than words, its about finally finding a belonging to a community. Everyone is so open and non-judgement. It's what keeps me coming back! 🥰
Okay now missy, The reason people say you're happy looking you look happy has nothing to do with you at court site right now because I noticed the happiness before you got to court site and I think it's the company that you keep. Meaning Brock has put a very posilive component to your life. Amanda be happy I love watching your videos now even more than it before and they make me happy. Maybe 1 day I'll meet you I live in a Van I'm 75 years old and I've been in the Van now for 4 years. I live in the LA.
I wish I enjoyed drum circles...I sat in one when I went to Q but after about 30mins I got bored....of course, I don't know anyone and I don't like get lost in like a "trance" w/the music like I guess? Some people do? Maybe I just can't sit still w/out something to do lol...and I didn't want to try to play anything, I'm too shy around strangers...maybe over time I will enjoy it one day if I know people....I just really struggle w/anxiety around strangers...I want to know people, but I don't want to be noticed lol smdh
I find it so interesting that women are allowed to participate in the drum circles! Where I am this type of thing would be a Native/Aborginal ceremony for whatever the reason and women are NOT allowed to drum and even more interesting is that women are not allowed to sit criss-cross or with legs spread because the drums are basically a way for the spirit world to come forward and women's umm parts are basically a conduit to the spirit world. The beliefs are fascinating. A woman who is menstruating or who is post partum isn't supposed to participate in any of these sacred things. Obviously, I have no freakin clue if this drumming yall were doing was for a spiritual reason or what that is, but it was really cool to see you pull out your own drum (no way I can spell that sorry) and not only want to participate but be able to!! Obviously women play drums here but not in a ceremonial type circle! They do have other roles though in Powwows including things like the Jingle Dancers which are absolutely amazing. I guess for ME I associate Arizona and Utah with sacred Navajo land (as well as several other tribes over many decades) so this was really fascinating. Growing up where there is such a strong Native culture I genuinely believe that the Earth responds to these different rhythms. You can FEEL it and not just through the vibration of the drumming but it's just this very profound spiritual feeling that is intensely moving! I hope that's how you feel when doing things like this!! It is seriously one of the best feelings ever... Being on that same vibration as the universe for awhile
I didn’t know about the Van Aid going on out there or I would have been out there already. I went by there last week going to see the Fisherman and the Quartzsite Arrow but didn’t see many people but I’m sure there are more out there now, like everywhere else. I’ve been riding my Mountain bike down the Jeep Trail from the Old Mine at Dome Rock to the bottom. Slowly going up and coming down fast. You should try it next week.
Hi Amanda, Fun! Do you feel positive spirits visiting while participating in drum circles? I am sure they are there! No one can resist Wynston💙. I think Wynston was dreaming about Coachman Vans. 💤😂🪘🔥

In the late 90s
I enjoy your channel
I can’t wait to be a Nomad!!!!
Yessss!!!
Cool meetup. I missed out.✌️
#nomad #vanlife
Would have loved if you were there!
I stayed at Plomosa Road when I was in Quartzite in 2022.
Thank you Amanda yep I had some chords and adapters I did not use lol well because I didn't know so thanks again
Hi Amanda
Hi Alan!
🌻☺️
Do you leave things out when you go to town? No one steals your solar panels, etc.?
I leave most things at camp. I rarely leave my solar panels out. It's safe as long as you're smart and aware about who you're camping near, etc.
❤❤
Amanda I heading heading to quartzsite for the first time this year! Is there a good place to find a listing of events in the area?
I find out about events via RUclips and my friends. 🤣 I think there are some Quartzsite Facebook groups where you can find out about everything.
What camp table do you have, the black one? thanks!
It's a 40x20 from Walmart. Mainstays brand.
Thank you!!! Love you!❤
Sorry to hear of your friends wife passing at the age of 60. My dad died at 37. Also very young.

You don't want to mix those two up; you don't want to dump water and pickup trash.
I could be wrong, but Wynston seems highly petable. Pretty sure I'm right though.
Where was van aid held at in Q?
On Plomosa Road, as the video title states.
Did it smell like pot at the drum circle?

It depends on the circle! Each hippie drum circle I've participated in seems to offer a different vibe, but they are always incredible.
