The rawness of my Gen 1 never gets old. Best Hooligan bike ever. Maybe get a new model one day , but my SDR 16 still has me looking forward to each ride.
Since buying my 2014 second hand in 2016 I have never seriously thought of buying another bike. I never want a smoother, more refined version, which every subsequent model seems to be.

I like how you're blown away that there's like 20 different settings for fork and shock rebound and compression, when all those were manually adjustable on the last gen superduke with the same level of fidelity. All they've done by making it electronic is add more moving parts that have the potential to fail or wear out, costing you more. Is it worth the convenience of being able to change the settings on the go without stopping and busting out a small screwdriver? Guess that's up to the rider. I'll stick with my gen 3 though, the headlight is prettier. Would be nice to have the different levels of wheelie control though, seems like something that could be flashed onto a gen 3 ECU since the gyro sensor is already on it.

When you come from MTB (Enduro, DH) all those adjustments in suspension fork and shock makes a Lot of Sense... In MTB people can adjust pre-load (sag) / progression / high and low speed rebound / high and low speed compression / hydraulic botton out... And each one of them changes your suspension a Lot.
Definitely prefer revews containing the information you can't find on the producer web :-) Here we have only a bunch of well known info and the experience everyone can expect after looking at the parameters of this motorcycle.

Sold my gen2 because it was wheelie control on or off, rode with it off ofcourse but the cops didn't like that. With the new one I can set it to low and maaaybbee the police won't notice the small bunnyhop.

Euro 5 plus is going to force the bike to reduce power and torque and if the bike gets to hot it will go into limp mode until the catalytic exhaust is checked out by the dealer. Making it hard to do track days and have a big hp motorcycle. They want to end these bikes

Did they update the radiator mount to handle all these wheelies. Hopefully the headlight bolt that always breaks too. Have an 18 SDR now, wasn't really considering another one but damn this thing looks pretty amazing. Pure hooligan.
Based on your review, i think ktm should have given a longer wheelbase or they should have increased the rake angle, so that you could put more power down. My suggestions would reduce the agility of the bike but i think it is worth it.
you can put plenty of power down on this bike if you don't whack the throttle. He's kind of exaggerating the wheelying in this video. In reality its actually harder to wheelie gen 3+ superdukes than gen 1-2 because they actually did increase the wheelbase in 2020. It charges forwards much easier like a race bike instead of bouncing everywhere like a big supermoto.
I love the Superduke, but the reliability is a concern (especially since I'm in the US, getting parts is probably not easy). The Streetfighter gives me the same worry. Probably going to end up getting a ZH2
You are optimistic with the bumblebee stuck in the lights. What if it will be a pigeon? I mean with all these wheelies the light is at your face level lol Good stuff mate!
The engine is a little bit bigger , 10hp more , a little bit bigger gas tank and looks more muscular. For the rest the bike is mainly the same :-). It's up to your wallet to be honest :-)

As someone who does adjust all suspension settings for my weight and intended riding, plus also adjusting others bikes who lack the understanding of what a click or two for the front and rear can alter the dynamics for individuals is something I enjoy. Seeing this all available electronically previously had me suspicious. These days, with the advancements to the IMU, it just makes the process easier. Ordered one of these a couple of weeks ago and can’t wait to get my hands on it. However, as an ex Australian Superbike racer, I’ll be leaving the wheelie control on as this produces an insane amount of torque and regulating this these days the IMU is quicker than your right wrist.
I love the bike, I want one, but I really really need to hear that people are comfortable with Shift Cam not blowing up. Electronics always scare me. This Bosch unit and cam shift sound great on paper, DO THEY HOLD UP? That is my only concern. Bosch car computers are thousands. Electronic suspension sounds great on paper, will I have any issues? I want everyone who has this bike to speak openly about it. Thanks Smokey!
Hey i dont get the point of this bike people always say this is so fun and raw it keeps popping wheelie . But isn’t that bad ? Like we want downforce so that bike stays stable while accelerating right ???? I’m new to bikes , currently on a parallel twin 500cc so totally new to these categories

Working on it sorry 😔. I have been very busy lately also in the supercar world. Lot's of traveling and not always for motorcycles , I have my own RUclips course with students , starting my own soap business and some more stuff I'm doing. FYI, anti-dive helps with the front-end diving under deceleration. Not for lowering the front to go faster lol.

LC8 engine is really reliable tbh. ZH2 is also very nice but 40kilo heavier.
