Most of the songs in this KV were title tracks. We need part 2-3-4 for other bsides!! Sunny Side Up, Zoo, I Just, Beg For Me, In My Dreams, My Second Date, Perfect 10, Blue Lemonade, So Good, etc. The list goes on.
🤣 Fair enough, I usually melt from RV bridges too but my ear was basically like "WTF IS GOING ON?!?!?" I am still happy they are willing to try mew things in each song though😄
This Killing Voice is legendary. I actually was soooooo resistant to liking Feel My Rhythm because as soon as I heard the sample I was like oh no. I'm not going to like this. I can't get with this concept. Oh no. But then by the end of the MV, I was actually crying with happiness like - ahhhh the art. The ART of it all, it's brilllliant. For me, it works. Chill Kill was unexpected but I liked it on first listen, however the Killing Voice version :O It made me love it more. The way the final chorus comes together with the two different parts of the chorus overlapping like countermelodies, with the ad libs... and I love the bridge! It's a very different sound for Red Velvet, for sure - they usually get very lush in a bridge or prechorus, and both the bridge and prechorus of Chill Kill are more spacious. Definitely Irene's vocals are extremely underrated, Joy's low range is goorrrgeous. I always love when Joy goes into her lower range. Wendy is literally everything (that's my bias I can't say more). Seulgi is an actual songbird. Yeri's tone is sooo lovely, too. We need all the colors in Red Velvet to make their gorgeous resulting sound. Oh but 100%, the backing track was definitely too loud especially for the songs with a lot of production sound in them - on the slow velvet tracks we got to hear them so much better
Honestly could not have said it better myself🤧 Overall I'm happy I decided to check out the KV because it also shined light on a ton of songs I still have not heard from them! I'm bout to be on a BINGE🤣
My fave song from Red Velvet are not even there. These are songs that i like the most; Zoo, With You, Little Little, I Just, Hear the Sea, Eyes Locked Hands Locked
The reason this doesn't sound live is because they are incredibly precise. They don't improvise, and their voices are not heavily processed in the records. It's not that they sound "recorded" when singing live. they sound "live" in the records.
Yes and No. Yes they are amazing natural vocalist. There is no need for additives because they have the ability to truly sing and perform which is why RV is my favorite female group. With that being said this KV had a much more invasive use of the studio recording track in the background comparative to say BTOB or Taeyeon's KV especially for parts of the song where there is vocal doubling in place. They sung live no doubt about it, but they had their recorded voices very much present in the background throughout. Again, all love to the Group and Dingo for the work they did.
Aw, man! If you have only seen the Music Video for Feel My Rhythm, you are really missing out! Besides the Live Stages, there is a Performance Video for that song where Joy really steals the show! The choreo is AMAZING too and you get to see all of the choreo in that performance!
"The Perfect Red Velvet" the 2nd album repackage has "Bad Boy" "Peek-a-boo" & "Kingdom Come" on it - those are songs you already knew. It also has "Time to Love" "I just" "Look" and others... You really should listen to the whole album. But if "Automatic" and "Kingdom Come" are your among your favorite songs by them, the song on that album you really need to listen to is "perfect 10" - it is exactly as described - perfect.
This is the longest Killing Voice video btw. They just want to sing as many as possible. Originally, there are still even some other songs they wanted to include but they couldn't bcus of the staff wouldn't allow it lol. RV's harmony & unison is def one of the best in kpop. Their songs are so unique & amazing! Truly a masterpiece of a girl group. Also Wendy is the best female vocalist for 3rd gen kpop! Also if u're interested with good vocals & music, then I suggest to react & listen to EXO. They're well known as The King of Vocals in kpop. They started the 3rd gen & it's in the same company as RV. They're master in RnB & Ballad, as well as harmony & adlibs, just like RV!
As far as the group's vocal abilities overall, they are each at least 'good' vocalists on their own. The company called Irene a 'sub-vocalist', but just listen to her when she pops off! But then you have to think, we have our World-Class Goddess of Vocals Wendy here to coach the other four members, plus she is Best Friends with Seulgi (both inside and outside of the group).
It is all live for this which is sick, However in the music tracks in the back you can hear that they left in some the the studio backing. It is subtle as to not outshine them singing live BUT that does not take away from the group. RV is personally my favorite and each of them sings in such a unique way. I just would have liked to hear a lil less track since they do not need it.😅
It's not 100% live. Autotune, live pitch correction, layered vocals, pre recorded vocals and post processing tricks are used here by Dingo. You can hear the difference in volume when they talk or do adlibs during the song vs the volume levels of the instrumental, backing track and pre recorded vocals.
No MV for Time To Love, but there is something better, they sang in full live for a fanmeet (Time To Love @Birthday Party in Kwangya). Higly recommended, i watch it every day 😅
Great reaction! and yes you do really need to check out the 1st Album, The Red. It is the epitome of vocal slayage, like they let Wendy go crazy for real. All of them kill and and Seulgi and Joy also have some really impressive vocal parts, but Wendy just annihilates with her belts and runs🔥
I lowkey miss those kinds of acrobatics in the new full tbh. The amount of talent & skills on that person is insane. And she was what, 20yo when they recorded Red? Really went for broke on that one. Otoh I'm also relieved she got to work at a (relatively) more leisurely pace for this album. Because on the previous ones, a staggeringly lopsided amount of backing vocals (virtually all, in the earlier albums) were done by her. She had a reputation as a "recording studio slave" among k-fans. And apparently she liked it lol
It can be both amazing to be the vocalist they wanna record the most AND very physically but mainly mentally demanding keeping the same energy each time. Hats off to her because it DEFINITELY can be rough💯
So recording videos were available only since Queendom & usually show her going in first & last. She mentioned recently being thankful to Seulgi for "laying the base" this time as she was so busy with her musical --subtext being, she usually does this. Have heard scattered, similar stories here & there from members/producers but I guess this is (semi)confirmation. I guess she acts as de facto guide for the group (explains the amount of back vocals, even in rap parts like in ICC & Dumb Dumb) esp when demos are English (vs Korean) [EDIT: lyricist lee seuran mentioned wendy's voice in the 'one kiss' demo (wendy maybe redid the original as guide?), wc lsr nicknamed "wankiss." this is prob routine for wendy], then does her lines/layering/harms/adlibs etc, and comes back for overall finishing touches. This goes above & beyond even a main vocalist's job methinks. But I guess she enjoys it. And yes producers love her, there are so many stories. She rly is a creature of the recording booth. Context of my earlier comment is, someone asked on her radio show 2yrs ago if she was aware of that label. She said yes but that she enjoyed recording so much she wanted to live in the studio. This woman breathes and bleeds music. Anyway hope she gets to rest a while, she deserves it. Apparently she's dubbing Queen Poppy again on the Korean release of the latest Trolls. @moongi-luv everything you said is exactly how I feel😂 like I really miss having her off the leash and just destroying me. But of course it's good to let the others spread their wings with their improved vocals over the years as well. I'm just looking forward to SSW2 next year and hope she gets some dance songs cause we all know she is absolutely capable. And yes the amount of work this woman does behind the scenes is truly unimaginable. I'm still shook from when I found out she's dubbing for Trolls again. Like how did she find time to do all that while she was preparing for the Comeback, Recording 10 songs, dance practice, singing practice, Rebecca performance, picking songs for Lee Mujin service and practice them, practice for Killing voice and recording it. And you're telling me she was also practicing and recording for Trolls btw all of that???🤯😵💫😵 it makes sense that she was ranked number 1 busiest idol since the beginning of the year. Chill Kill is really RV at the peak of their powers (Irene??). Seulgi said yday they all took vocal lessons, and it makes sense. Can't wait for SSW2, everyone i know hoping for R&B/pop bc she's done vocal-flexing with ballads. Personally I want some La Rouge/Perfect 10-type Wendy, verging on alt R&B for a lil edge. He complains about the loud production because he can't hear the unrecorded harmonics and complements well, but I didn't realize that they do it all the time and he doesn't listen because he doesn't stop talking for a minute
As a musician I can literally hear everything going on in a production. Talking or not it's just how my brain has been wired. Even subtle harmonics don't go unnoticed to me.Dingo drowned out what I know is strong vocalist. That's a sound engineer thing. Not a group thing...Not everyone has a music background and wants a full disection so I keep it blunt🫠

Homie humming (poorly) over Wendy riffing then complaining about the backing track being too far forward in the mix. I'd try to mix your own mic properly before firing at the pros at SM/Dingo who surely spent time dialing in this production so the girls have some vocal cover. You're like 25% too loud. I'm sure Wendy is the only one who would feel comfortable and confident with little to no doubling.
This one made me chuckle, My Mic is supposed to be louder than the thing I am reacting to. Hince Why anyone can hear me over the video. They played backing tracks in this KV which anyone with an ear for music can tell. I know how well trained Wendy is and I have spent my life around musicians and singers so a riff is something to be expected at this level. I major in both instrumental performance and vocals which if I feel like showcasing I can do with a matching hum if you prefer although no one would care about that. You love the group, I get it I do too, However, the difference is I am still able to point out something that does not work and still love the artist. No performance is 100 percent perfect. My recommendation would be to watch other killing voices on dingo and then come back to this one.

I more so see it as a thing that they aren't boxed into a specific role all the time. I knew she could rap, and I'm of the mindset that if you can sing, you can probably rap too since it's difference is just in delivery for the most part. Irene is a nice all around talent to me though✊🏾
@@kevincruz010 Yes, true, but she is DEFINITELY the Main Vocalist and EVERYBODY knows that. She does not carry the Rapper tag with her name, although they should hand her at least 'sub-rapper' because she has covered for all three of the group's official rappers at various times. She really is quite capable, no question. But my big problem is that Irene is entirely overlooked as a Main Rapper. She is literally under-rated even by her own company. That is a slap in the face and SM should be ASHAMED of themselves when this sort of thing happens.
@TJKReactsss oh cool. I started late 2016. First group was twice...then bts... it took me a whole 7 months to discover sm. I believe it was Red velvet..NCT then EXO. In that order. I heard EXO summer 2017 with kokobop. Immediately became my favorite group til this day. And SM took over my entire kpop Playlist
Every show uses those at this point, man. Even for your faves. I think you're taking up a lost cause. And you're barking up the wrong tree. Email dingo or something. Luckily there's no shortage of live singing from Wendy. For two years when she was a radio DJ, she sang live, on air, with just a mic, spare back track and her pristine vocals, sometimes weekly. And since 2018 she's been holding "mini-concerts" for fans, hourlong Insta lives you can still check out on here. Also clips from her SLSL performance and her birthday fanmeet. You want from way before? Look for their viewable radio appearances or archived vlives
It was livestreamed viewable radio. Feel free to check out her covers over at the SBS Radio channel. There are other captures online if you think those are processed@@bungfcm

I heard EXO summer 2017 with kokobop. Immediately became my favorite group til this day. And SM took over my entire kpop Playlist
@abrown2090 I found Exo which is now trickling to NCT but for sure Sm has the best groups in my opinion
Not 100% live. Uses autotune, live pitch correction, layered vocals, pre recorded vocals.
Very close, but yeah, I'm not sure why that would be aside from the reasons I listed. I don't think they needed all the extra stuff
Look for their viewable radio appearances or archived vlives
this comment so freaking joke to me because he showing off half-baked knowledge. hahahahahahaha Mr Radio dj
It was livestreamed viewable radio. Feel free to check out her covers over at the SBS Radio channel. There are other captures online if you think those are processed@@bungfcm
Lol... look at the credits at the end of this video.
There was ONE audio engineer for the whole thing.
One.
If this one was fake, then so was Mamamoo's.
