By "ballast", I mean "igniter". Igniter is the correct name of that square part only. In some cases, the ballast which is the Xenon lamp control module comes with the igniter integrated, as one piece called "ballast". In our case, the actual ballast or control module is mounted at the bottom of the headlight assembly.
Hey friend, I love the way you always explain everything so well with good camera work. Thanks for making such good videos, always a big help. Blessing!
Always my first channel to watch among all the others. Much much easier to pull the headlight assembly for bulb replacement and wire inspection. My wire insulation had failed like yours. 👍
These tutorials are so helpful! I have an 07 A6 and I always have to fix something lol. Right now the passenger side door actuator is having issues so the door will only unlock from the inside when I open it and I have to use a key to manually lock the actuator.
Thanks! Sorry about your door actuator. These issues occur when you do not lubricate the mechanisms. They become stiff with time and may cause the actuators to fail prematurely. Watch this: ruclips.net/video/t4-_d799T3Q/видео.html
So I replaced my actuator and it works great, but now the headlights need replacing. What headlights do you recommend. I was thinking of getting some random aftermarket ones but don’t know how well they would work. Also my high beam went out. So would that be separate from the xenon bulb you put in? Or are they connected?
Hello, I am now a subscriber after watching this excellent video. My low beam works but the high beam does not. Do you know what it might be? Thank you.
Thanks for subscribing 👍🏾 The low beam and the high beam are fed by the same xenon bulb so if the low beam is working whereas the high beam is not, there has to be something wrong mechanically either inside the headlight assembly, or in the lever behind the steering wheel. Have the headlight assemblies been replaced in the past? Maybe the wrong type was installed?
Hi, I’ve checked with dealer and it is D3S that comes with the ballast and therefore is more expensive but may look on eBay, can I still fit it same way ? So what is difference between mine and yours ? Thanks pal!!

You can just disable the function. Check out this thread: www.audiworld.com/forums/a6-s6-c6-platform-discussion-58/adaptive-lighting-aps-disable-fix-2964755/
for anyone missing the headlight rangw controll defective , either the inside wires are broken , the motor inside headlight or ur missing or not working ballast and that part number is 4F0941329 / 4F0 941 329 B
@@Kokouvia yes thats what i was missing and becouse of that i kept getting errors i bought them used today and installed them and error qent away , i had bixenon headlights i didnt know i thought they were regular xenon , the bi xenon requires that additional ballast therefore the error..
Yes. You can make it but you've got to be patient. In that case no need to disconnect the battery. Just make sure the headlights were off since at least 15 minutes and make sure the ignition is off and the key is removed.

Just Brilliant. Everything I needed to know and so clearly presented. I really appreciate your work. Thank you.

Thanks! Haha... I believe the insulation has failed in most C6 A6's with the adaptive frontlight system option by now 😅

Great video, thanks! What type bulb is this ? I have 2010 c6 Avant , is it d2s or d3s? Cheers!
It depends on the headlight option. If you have Xenon like mine it is D2S.

@@scorpiongetoverhere1025 Unfortunately I am not sure. The 2010 version has a slightly different headlight design.

bro I've got adaptive headlight fault on my A3 2014 and it's driving me crazy how do I disable this feature what can I disconnect?
Unfortunately, I do not have experience with the 2014 A3. I am sorry.
do you have to remove the negative battery terminal when removing the housing
It depends. Are you planning on removing the whole housing or is this just to replace the xenon bulb?

6:27 don’t do that, remove the igniter first then the cable will remove itself automatically
I beg to differ.
