Really enjoyed the lengthier video this time. I’m so used to watching travel docs for other countries that I forgot how amusing it can be to watch people experience the US. The food portion sizes are indeed huge here, and the to-go boxes are very much a necessity. Reheating and eating Asian food leftovers is one of my favorite things to do at home, lol.

This is a great video! And it’s fun to see places I know too! I live only a couple hours from Seattle so I like to visit a lot. If you ever get the chance you should also come down and visit Portland Oregon!

Walking around singing "BANANAS" wouldn't be that strange in Seattle. Or LA. Or NY. Or any major US metropolitan area, really.
But ordering a California roll as a Japanese tourist is utterly bizarre.
I'm totally joking, and trying the Japanese food in the US while visiting is totally relatable. I always feel the urge to try McDonald's or KFC (any American-style food) whenever I'm in Asia out of sheer curiosity.
Looking forward to days 4 and 5.

For the most authentic American hamburger, please try "Five Guys" during your next visit!
It is very high in calories, but it is the iconic American hamburger, in my opinion.
It's messy and greasy, but it's delicious in its indulgence.
The taste sensation may provide some understanding as to why Americans are so plump.
Thank you for English subtitles! 😸

US is easily one of the most unsafe developed countries to live in bro, especially in big cities
Many countries in Europe and Asia have lower crime rates, and I'm saying this as an American myself

@@jimmythegamer2231 I was last may with my wife in Korean and Japan, and was unbeliable how safe they were. Delivery packages on the floor, and nobody taking them. Laptops and cell phones on the tables whilen you are in the counter ordering in coffeshops, wallets forgiven on chairs. Absolutly no one touch what is not theirs. I envy them, this is what it should be. No graffitis, no homeless, all extremetly clean.. it was awesome. Needless to mention you can walk anywhere, anytime, day /night without worries

やったー! I watched all the way to the end! It's fun to see such an impressed reaction to Red Robin from a Japanese person haha. I should go back! I used to like that restaurant, but I stopped going because I saw that it never gets a good rating from online reviews, but actually my tastes probably don't agree with that.
There are a few grammar points I'm not sure about. Like 10:12 もっといる is this a typo? And 24:38 and 24:57 it looks like に is being used to mean "and" or something, which I'm not familiar with. I wonder if someone could help me with this?

    • @MeirinCh
      @MeirinCh  Месяц назад +2

That's an interesting point of view! I'll answer with the help of ChatGPT.
'ソースもっといる' means 'ソース = sauce', 'もっと = more', and 'いる = necessary'. In Japanese, we use the expressions 'いる' (needed) or 'いらない' (not needed) to talk about necessity. 'ソースがより必要ですか?' is a more casual version of 'ソースもっといる'.
And in Japanese, when '〜に' is used as a conjunction, it can indeed have a meaning similar to 'そして' or 'and'. This usage is often seen when listing or enumerating a series of elements.
      この街には美しい景色に、美味しい食べ物がある!
→In this town, there are '美しい景色' (beautiful scenery) and(~に) '美味しい食べ物' (delicious food)!
