@@TunanTech actually i added all the ports but still it is showing error in the portcheck site.
@@mousamchatterjee3143 sometimes it shows error even when youve opened the ports. In this case, the ports might be blocked at network level by the ISP. However temporary disble your firewall and send test emails..if it works..then the ports should not bother you. Hope that helps

but when i tried to send test email into gmail

@@mousamchatterjee3143 Okay, it seems like its an issue with SSL/TLS. If your settings are configured to use ssl Port but then the email you set up is on a domain without an SSL certificate then the sending will fail. It could also be that gmail is not accepting non SSL emails if thats your configuration. To test these 2 theories, just try sending to other email providers like outlook and hotmail and see if that works. Then try swapping ssl port for non ssl or vice versa and try sending again.

is a VPS required for this setup? I thought this could operate as a standalone email server software config....but maybe I'm mistaken.
Yes sir, you need a VPS but you could configure it in a laptop but when you switch it off your emails would be offline. That's why you need to set up on a server for 100% uptime
@@TunanTech I used MailEnable for years as a standalone with no VPS required. I guess hmailserver won't work for my needs. Thanks for the response. Great video too!

Is it possible to use hmail with thunderbird without a vps? Yes I know when my system is shot down it also shot down
Also I tried to login to Thunderbird and it says incorrect password or wrong configuration. I might not have gotten the configurations right. I got my domain from zoho who happened to be a reseller.
How do I get my subdomain, I tried this on my domain console but I dont think it worked on the hmail configurations.
Lastly is it possible to send 400 outgoing mails daily but one by one NOT in bulk? Please you response will be highly appreciated. Thank you!

1. Yes you can use on your laptop without a vps and thunderbird client is perfectly okay
2. Just rewatch and follow steps well...make sure the mail ports are opened on your network..sometimes your internet provider may be blocking mail ports so start by checking if tbey are open
3. To get a subdomain you need to create it with from your DNS host. This is likely the same as your domain registrar
4. You can send as many emails as you want...just make sure you are sending to subcribed/opted in users because otherwise your hmail IP will be flagged as a spam server and your delivery rate will drop

This is most likely due to closed ports,
Have you open all ports needed for emails?..also temporarily disable the firewall on the server and try to connect again and see if that works

The sent emails have to be stored somewhere so you cant disable this easily. What you can howver do is create a cron job that deletes email in the DATA location periodically to kee clearing them

Yes you should because Hmail is a mail server fully incharge of its traffic and your website is on its own Webserver. So use a wildcard SSl

This means you choose to use ssl ports in the settings and you are trying to use a domain that is not ssl secured for the emails. Choose non ssl ports. Hope that helps

But when I apply the settings in a emailing software it doesn't send the emails... I get error message saying: 535 authentication failed. Restarting authetication process" ??
In the email client settings,..set the ports to auto.

Yes,...for both outgoing and incoming servers

You can install anywhere, but because you want hmail serve to run throughout i recommended a vps. If you use on your desktop when you power if off hmail goes off as well.

There is not limit because its your own server, however I would not recommend you use it to send thousands of email because your IP will be flagged by spam filters and you will not be able to deliver emails. Unless you have opted in emails list

Hello, Have you checked if the Firewall is blocking hmail. Temporarily disable your firewall (in the environment where you have installed hmail) and try again. also make sure the ports are open people forget to open mail ports and this makes it to fail. Diagnostics can be green if when ports are not open. Let me know if any of these two suggestions help

ERROR: It was not possible to connect.
ERROR: Was not able to open connection.

Hi, its most likely because you haven't configured the firewall properly.
First confirm that you have opened all the email port e.g. port 587, 25 etc. You can check by going to canyouseeme.org
If the ports are open, then check if Hmail is being blocked by the firewall you can do this by temporarily disabling the firewall and trying hmail, then if it works, you can add an exemption in the firewall for hmail. I hope this helps. cheers

I tryed check if my port are well configurated, and they are, but port 993 and 465 are blocked (I checked and in router and firewall are open) Maybe I should try calling my ISP? or those 2 port doesn't matter with the process?
@@anto6314 those two ports are not very important unless you are using ssl then 465 becomes important, have disabled your firewall?

Yeah, because you have to install it in programs. But you don't need it to proceed. You can continue without pinging

Check if Email ports are open. Closed ports is the most likely cause if you followed all the steps
how to provide mass mail services to other companies
This is a very difficult task to achieve because of the spam filters, big bulk email provides often have agreements in place with major email clients and spam filters to whitelist their IPs provided they user true opt in emails . So as an individual you will have your server IP blocked after a few thousand emails and that IP will not send any more emails

You can if you have a true opted in subscription email list,..otherwise you will only successfully send a few 100 emails to each email provider before the spam filters pick the IP and block it..makes sense?
