LMAO!!! Ur so right lol I don't know how many different '16 Civic vids I've watched since I've decided to trade my Fiat in for it in a couple of months...The Fast Car Lane has become one of my favorite youtube channels btw lol
Can we all take a second, step back, and realize how goddamn amazing modern cars are? I mean, the Civic is pretty much the standard for an "economy car" and has build quality and features that a few years ago would only be seen in premium luxury cars. Look at the econoboxes of the 80s and 90s compared to today. It's an entirely different ballgame.
True.. But I wonder how this 2016 Civic will compare to a 1995 Civic in terms of reliability and problem free years. My guess is this 2016 Civic will not last as long as a 1995..but we'll see.
+Heartagram I have a 1998 Civic and 2015 Civic sitting in my driveway right now. Comparing the two, I see no reason to assume that my 1998 model is a better built car. What was Honda doing better in the late 1990s than they are doing in the mid 2010s?
+opmike343 I can't stop thinking about that, too. Like, how the cars we see on the roads everyday has the features we only saw in high-end luxury cars several years ago.
We had a 2006 Civic Hybrid made in Japan then some asshat had to go and hit it so now we have a 2013 Civic Hybrid made in Indiana. Thanks a lot prick...haha.
The car will not last as long especially with Mac struts suspension. One of the reasons the 88-2001 hondas are still driving today is because they had double wishbone suspension that was less prone to strut failure. You could have a completely leaking strut and the car would still handle fine and you would not see significant tire wear. the mac strut suspension introduced in 2001 until now has very poor lifespan and a slightly bad strut will cause major tire wear issues. The front control arm bushings are always in binding that is how they are designed and can fail after 50 000 km. The older cars could run a front control arm for 500 000km plus. Just little things like this that cause owners to feel they should buy a new car vs driving their car into the ground like the older cars. The most reliable cars were the 88-91 honda civics. They ran the fuel lines and brake lines inside the car(Like subaru does) and fuel or brake line failure never happened except for small sections outside the car but compared to the 1995 up hondas when they moved the lines outside the car line failure was common and it was a big job to repair the whole line under the car so at that point owners would scrap or get rid of their cars. I have had ever generation of civic except this latest one and my most reliable car was my 1991 civic which I just had to get rid of in March. It had 400 000km.

I understand the hate on cvt's but not on this one. It mimics shifts and keeps revs up perfectly. The recall was for the 2.0 non turbo model. An assembly issue with a piston clip not being installed correctly. ive had my 16 civic ex-t for about 1500 miles. I absolutely love it.
Thanks for the test drive. I'm living vicariously through your video while I wait another couple of agonizing weeks for my Touring to come in from the factory, ha ha. I was wondering how the Lane Watch camera performed at night - looks like it works pretty well. You're right, the video does sound cool with headphones on. :) Cheers, Michael
The fish eye view of the camera does the new design absolutely zero justice. The sound is amazingly rewarding when driving this car. Such a powerful feeling with amazing acceleration. Very sharp handling that turns on a dime. The LKAS and ACC basically allow the car to drive itself. Sound system in the Touring is great, crystal clear but does provide a bit of a rattle in the rear interior when the bass is turned on high. Features are impeccable though. This launches Hondas lower-end models into a new class. Very impressive. New to Honda, switched from Toyota. Touring Civic is beautiful in Blk on Blk, especially with Windows darkened. Warning: Will demand second glances.
Yeah, it's a CVT, but it is easy to stay in the meat of the torque curve. I just bought a Civic Touring, in part due to this video. Thanks, and keep up the good work. I enjoyed the CX-3 videos and others too.
10th gen Civics are extremely quiet until you run over road markers or small potholes. It sounds like somebody throwing rocks at the car...I thought it was just mine.
Definitely would have to get it with the manual since Honda doesn't offer a true automatic anymore. Can't stand the CVT, however the engine is fairly quiet at freeway speeds.

I don't get the hate either, maybe I guess if you prefer automatic and also want to mod it and take it to the track the CVT may prove problematic for you, but if you arent trying to be a street racer I dont see what the problem is. I mean my stock civic touring does 0-60 and a 1/4 mile in basically the same time as a 1996 Mustang GT. Why the hell would you need more power on a daily driver?
I'd buy this car. I would definitely recommend it. I test drove it twice because the first time I couldn't believe I was driving a Civic. Nice quality, inside and out. I don't like CVT's, but I can make an exception here though.
Like how it has those side cameras that come on whenever you make either a left or right hand turn, just in case there just might be a Bicyclist or maybe even a motorcycle trying to pass you on either side.

hey guys, you know that Honda is selling 10th gen. civic with dct only in Japan. They are not selling civic with cvt in Japan. Im wondering why.
How are the LED light at night time? Compared to HID are better?
Oh, you forgot to put your all new electric parking brake on. That little switch to the bottom left of your gear shifter.
Nice review. Good to see how this car merges in D. So, in S Mode, it would be easier for sure.
what a beautiful interior..goodjob honda 👏
I don't really understand, how come the side cameras only appear some times when u signal left and right? i thought it's suppose to show every time u signal to left or right..?
to check on your blindspots
de ng I think there's only one camera on the right side mirror. So it'll only appear when you signal right or press the lane watch button.
Hope you can do some high beam tests when on unlit roads just to see how it looks
My interior lights don’t light up like that like on the infotainment center only on the doors and steering wheel
why does the blind spot camera only show when you are doing right turns?
so you dont look right to turn left.
because the right side is a blind spot
so amazing
this car is better than mazda3 even mazda6
I cant wait to bring this car to my home!!!!
Definitely not better than Mazda 6
really? what"s ur thought
They don't compare, its like comparing a civic vs a accord. Mazda 3 compares with civic.
