Mike, I just realized you have the same drum kit as I do. And you are my absolute favorite drummer to watch and learn from.... I wish I could look as happy as you do when I play..... I have been taking lessons for 2 years. You are amazing and you make a difference in people's lives. You have made a difference in mine. Thanks...
Great groove, in the pocket. Kudos to you sir. My right arm seriously cramps half way through the song when I play this in my band. Cheers! Dave from "BackTrax" in Connecticut.
Great videos Mike! This is such a great song for beginners.. (Me) because of the simple groove goes on for a full 5 min. Love this as a warm up for my practice. Thanks! Oh - and great camera angle too!
Thank you! Great camera angle! Beautiful playing! Got what I came for! Needed to know if there were ghosted 1/8th notes on the hi-hat. And you answered it for me in perfect fashion!
Hey Mike, great drum through, as ever. 😃 A bit off topic but wondering if you've done or would consider doing any Cozy Powell stuff? I know it would likely require a double-kick pedal (or 2 bass drums!) but I'd love to see you do something like Rainbow's Starstruck or Stargazer, especially the intro to the latter, bearing in mind the original is over 8 minutes long! 🤘
Hey Mike loves this song. Do you personally really need the sheet music to play this song? I can see you staring at your sheet music and pulling the sheets onto the floor, couldn’t you play this pretty much by ear
Hi Vincent, thanks for watching. Yes I could, but in this video I wanted to get it done quickly and be as accurate as possible to the original part - reading it was definitely the fastest way to achieve that in this case. Cheers!
the chart I used (if I did) is always linked in the video description. This is how I find them: ruclips.net/video/oCR1V_un860/видео.html&pp=ygUpbWlrZSBiYXJuZXMgZHJ1bXMgaG93IHRvIGZpbmQgZHJ1bSBjaGFydHM%3D
Because I saw Steve Jordon doing it playing with Tom Petty and thought it sounded great! ruclips.net/video/Qv4-m-cIZf4/видео.htmlfeature=shared Thanks for watching.
very helpful thanks

Really? I’m surprised that you don’t like this song but to each his own
Amazing drumming
Could you do a fill of the week for the end of the chorus (the floor tom and snare fill ) when you get a sec
Yeah!
Thank you! Great camera angle! Beautiful playing! Got what I came for! Needed to know if there were ghosted 1/8th notes on the hi-hat. And you answered it for me in perfect fashion!
Cool! Thanks for watching and glad you dig :)

Good song

Crazy question: Do you have your drum tracks available WITHOUT the backing tracks?
No! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻👊🏻
Yo I was wondering if you could do never let me down again by Depeche mode, as I am learning that on the drums at the moment
How nice does that e-kit sound?! 😀 Roland?

Thank you for not killing the high hat like other have. Its laid back, not a full sprint on the high hat. Its quarters not 1/ 8ths.

Hi there From drum learner. Are you playing quarter note throughout the song? Or there are part where it’s played in eighth note?
Hi, I'm playing eighth notes on the hi-hat, with an accent on the quarter note. Cheers!
Where do you get your drum chart sheets?
the chart I used (if I did) is always linked in the video description.

Is this double time or normal, I can’t tell
Normal time straight 8s feel at a lively pace. Cheers for watching! 👊🏻
The record only has quarter notes on hi hat. Why make it harder?
Because I saw Steve Jordon doing it playing with Tom Petty and thought it sounded great! ruclips.net/video/Qv4-m-cIZf4/видео.htmlfeature=shared
Thanks for watching.
👍✔✔✔
Please sir help me
dont you find the beat drifts in & out of time during the verses in this song? pretty bad, guess the drummer got bored
Check out the cover by @taisonwadedrumming......you'll find he has given this classic a completely new lease of life
