Soumya... my friend... you are providing some wrong information on K-Lock.
First of all the K-Lock in Laptop or Monitor or any device is made of Strong Metal which is inside the Plastic or fiber body part of the device. that metal is quiet firmly fixed in the Ribcage.
second thing is, have you ever tried to cut a K-Lock wire with any tool? if not then please do soo. i challenge you. it takes a very long time even with Heavy Professional tool because it is made of Heavy Gauge Stainless Steel alloy. plus u need a lot of physical strength to use that tool. so if im sitting in a coffee shop it is very safe to use these kinds of locks. i will surely not worry about anyone trying to cut the wire in a Coffee shop.. :)

My request to people using combination Kensington lock is that always make sure the lock is from a good company because I bought one cheap combination lock and the combination didn't work and it got stuck
The device should add an alarm system after detecting tempering of k lock until unlocked by user password, which might make the thief nerve and easy to recover the device

Companies should implement the feature like whenever Kensington lock breaks, data stored in that particular machine automatically gets deleted and this also makes sense cuz in this way our confidential and private data will be safe from others.
