That was an amazing area before they forced all the old shacks to be removed. Sadly I wasn't that much into photography back then and hardly got any photos of the shacks. Some were amazing creations and we even saw some that were double storey. Still a lovely spot when the crowds all go home :)

It would’ve been a sight to see two story shacks out there! It is a great spot nonetheless.

It really was busy when you were there, we must have picked a good window. We had a grandfather and his grand children visit to say that he had a shack right where we camped, then explained that the council realised they could make money from campers from the area and pulled the shack down. The gentleman thoroughly enjoyed reminiscing about the good old days.

What a stunning sunrise mate. Shame to see those bunkers trashed like that, we have some near me too (Bunkers To The Coast video) and while they are covered in graffiti they haven't been trashed that badly. It sure would be nice to see smething done to preserve the history without locking them up.

More to the point why do this damage.
