I think the use of blue/white tack gives the impression of the colours merging rather than having a solid definition which is what the Air Ministry "bible" 1939/45 states it should be. Next edition please.
I use 0.3 needle, probably 0.2 would be better for the purpuse, but I have only 0.3. The air pressure is around 10 psi, and thinner/paint ratio about 8:1. Thank you for watching and leaving the comment. Cheers!

You are right, probably the paper mask would be a better option to get a sharp transition between colors.
