A good video. Just remember to have brake cleaner spray handy. He was using the same gloves to spread anti-seize and molly grease to push against the rotors, and you can see that he left greasy finger prints on the braking surface. Use the brake cleaner to get those finger prints off before installing the pads. Very useful video!
Hey volvosweden you're always helping me a lot! keep uploading SX4's manteinance videos please! Nice attitude dude! Just for curiosity, how many Kilometers you have in your SX4? did you already changed his front or rear shockers? with how many kilometers? thanks again! cheers from Brazil.
Rear shocks are original at 200,001km today. Front shocks I replaced by mistake with used ones from a damaged low km sx4. I will post a video if I ever do the shocks.
Just a tip: put a lug nut back on the hub to hold the rotor down while you work. Also, you could install the brake pads back on the bracket first and then install the whole assembly.
Boss can't thank enough for this! I too have to change all four of mine on my sk4 can you please verify the size rotar for both front and back? I'm looking to purchase and maybe change myself but really want to make sure I'm buying the right sizes to fit both front and back. Again your videos have been very helpful!🙏🏾🍻
Many thanks, especially for the removaL of the coils without disconnecting them from their cables, and also for the great tip of using them as plug grabbers. I just disagreed with dropping the new spark plugs into the holes, as the ceramic part could crack and the socket spanner may not be easy to align them with the cylinder head threads. I'd use the socket spanner to gently lower them in and start the hand-screwing.
Do the scooped profiled rotors have a name please? My UK 2013 model has a worn pads warning lamp indicator in the instrument cluster. A Mechanic told me it only applies for the front discs & not the rear ones. On a previous a SX4 l had the front replacement pads seemed to last longer than the OMEs. SX4 v Suduci - which do you think is best please?
you didn't lube the sliders. common problem on my suzuki liana that uses sames brakes is 1 of the sliders is sticky and does not compress/expand freely, both sliders need to have their slider boots cleaned and re-lubed. +1 points thought for being the first youtuber to actually show and mention anything about opening the brake fluid reservoir in the engine bay and putting the rag around it.. once you start pushing the piston back into place the fluid level wil ltypically rise. I have not seen anyone else mention this basic check that should alsways be done
Keelan Bozman after you do both sides of the car pump the brakes a few times to get the piston back to the right spot, then check your fluid level. It’ll most likely be low. I’d top up after checking that.
Hi! Don't know if you're going to look at this post, the only thing I want to know is if the lug nuts are the same for steel wheels and alloy mag wheels. I changed my front brakes, and disk, and, in the same time, put back the summer tires on mag wheels, but the lug nuts seems a little small and rusty. Btw, I bought this Suzuki SX4 2007 a couple of days ago, and it seems that this car is quite what I was looking for for a long time. And for the mag wheels, it's that I dont want to put too much pressure on lug nuts and break the mag wheels. Thanks in advance.
volvosweden cool.ya i recently changed pads and rotors on the Lexus and i went with ThermoQuiet Wagner products and been very happy with it . just wait for long term test
Yuri, is the process any different for rear brakes? I have a 2011 and it’s got disc brakes in the back as well. Does the parking brake get affected when you do the rear brakes?
Take parking brake off when you do it. After its all done, turn the car on (maybe chock the wheels), pump the brakes, put it in neutral, pump the brakes till they fine and then pull the hand brake up a few times until you feel it return to normal.
It’s a good idea to clean everything with brake cleaner before lubricating and reassembling. Torque specs are also important. Thanks for sharing!
Very nicely done! I have a 2008 SX4 that needs the pads and rotors re-done. Very good video. Thanks for sharing this!
Glad it helps people. really easy job. good luck
Very nice guy last month changed the brake pads on my sx4 very easy. Learning with you.
Thank you
All your SX4 videos have been very helpful thank you

Nice job! Why didn't you use a torque wrench to tighten these screws though?
I enjoy your very easy to follow videos. Good job!
Хороший ролик , поучительный, на двух языках, с правильным освещением и углом съемки и.... без сумасшедшей музыки.
Just a tip: put a lug nut back on the hub to hold the rotor down while you work. Also, you could install the brake pads back on the bracket first and then install the whole assembly.
The best videos! I've done so much on my sx4 with these videos. Thank you!
Thanks for the great video! Makes life a lot easier. Thanks again

Thanks, great video. Fast explanation and the tedious stuff fast forwarded. Cheers!

How can I tell when the pads need to be replaced? Also, should the pads and roars always be replaced together? Excellent Video!!!

Just got a Suzuki SX4 2008 is a great car.
How much you paid for all those parts ?

Great tutorial.
Do you have a video how to tap a wire from 12V?
Nope
Replaced mine on Sunday 23rd April 2023 discs and shoe Suzuki wagon r 2002
Nice job - excellent video. But use a torque wrench? It would take less than a minute to switch and do the job right.
Do you have part numbers for the rotors? I can't seem to find them.
Great easy to follow video 👍
Do you need to add more brake fluid after some spills out from the reservoir?
Keelan Bozman after you do both sides of the car pump the brakes a few times to get the piston back to the right spot, then check your fluid level. It’ll most likely be low. I’d top up after checking that.
Nice gold ratchet bud! great job on the brakes! :)
Thanks, this video helped me.
How do you know if the rotors need changing and not just the pads?

so how do you like the ATC rotors ? where did you buy them , canadiantire ?
nice...but i have heard that those rotors are not very good..just from comments online..what made u choose those ones .beside the price
Well. Its my work car so price was the biggest factor. I must say the brakes are really good, even my wife noticed.
volvosweden cool.ya i recently changed pads and rotors on the Lexus and i went with ThermoQuiet Wagner products and been very happy with it . just wait for long term test

А направляющие почему не смазал ?
do you know how to replace a stripped wheel stud from a 2009 Suzuki SX4?
Did this once. Hummer it out. The new one needs a bit of trimming to clear the axle from the back. Not fun to do.
lubricate without cleaning before, and the use of a torque ?? that bad...???
do not use air gun on small bolts, turns too fast will strip threads, wobbles due to the gun hurts threads
What is the diameter of allen bolts;
Спасибо за видео , а можно номера запчастей , которые установили выложить.
все выкинул. но покупаю здесь www.rockauto.com

Винтики на венгерской сборке идут.
Щетками надо чистить,потом смазывать!
