As someone who’s been a weeb for years, I can’t believe I went so long without once ever hearing the mention of Tokusatsu. I got into it around 5 months ago and it sent me down a rabbit hole I can’t seem to dig myself out of. I became obsessed with Japanese super heroes out of nowhere after seeing a little power ranger clip which was enough to completely re-awaken the power ranger obsession I had as a kid, after which I remembered they were based on super Sentai which caused me to seek out the series as I’d never seen any of it before. I started with Goranger, and got hooked immediately. I was in love. Since then I’ve made it my goal to watch every single Sentai series, I’m on Sun Vulcan now. Then after I found Kamen Rider and Ultraman, I was cooked. My obsession advanced to an extreme I didn’t know was possible. I now have a semi-decent collection of rare Toku manga from the 70’s through early 2000’s.
Don't forget about Metal Heroes some of those seasons got adept in to Big Bad Beetleborgs (Jūkō B-Fighter & B-Fighter Kabuto) & VR Troops (Kyojū Tokusō Juspion, Jikū Senshi Spielban & Chōjinki Metalder)

Glad to have another one diving into the rabbit hole lol. Favorite Rider, Sentai, and Ultraman show so far out of the ones you've seen?
@ I’ve watched Super Sentai up to Sun Vulcan so far, and my favorite Sentai is easily the Gorangers. I felt an extreme sense of nostalgia for the gorangers despite never seeing them before. They make my heart feel warm and fuzzy, I felt like a child again watching them. I got a similar feeling watching the original Kamen Rider for the first time, it’s a classic super hero show to its core. I haven’t seen enough Ultraman to pick a favorite though I’m excited to start watching eventually. I loved all these series so much I downloaded each one from the Internet Archive so I can watch them all without ads whenever I need. All together they’re around 5 terabytes. I also love other heroes aside from the big 3 such as Kikaider, Inazuman, the Metal Heroes, Emissary of Hell Supaidaman, Cyborg 009, Skullman, Kagestar, and so many more.

@striberx The majority of the Western world will never accept most Toku other than Godzilla or Ultraman due to the "Power Rangers" and "kid's show" stigma lol. It was Ishimori Production and Itochu. Toei, as far as I know, never involved in the Satria Series. But it's a bummer that they can't continue Satria series and gave us a half-assed animation series.
Interesting fact, when Spider-Man was adapted into a Toku show they decided to give him a ship that transformed into a giant robot. During the series, they people that made the series, Toei (the same Studio that made Kamen Rider and Super Sentai) wanted to make a series adapted from Captain America. However, this idea would eventually evolve into the 3rd Super Sentai series, Battle Fever J and would become the first Super Sentai Team to have a giant robot, obviously an element they carried over from their original idea, an idea they wanted to keep from the Japanese Spider-Man series and an idea that they would keep for every other Sentai Team to date. So if you think about it, Spider-Man is responsible for Power Rangers having Giant Robots in the first place.
One quick thing: Super Sentai did not air consistently for 50 years next year They had one gap year in 1978 so it has been going for 46 years straight (Still incredibly impressive)

I love Toku, but I don't understand the obsession a lot of the fanbase seems to have with wanting it to become "mainstream". I don't need my love for this genre to be validated by mainstream acceptance, I already appreciate it for what it is. Who cares if people might shit on it for being "cheesy"? A lot of stuff that's mainstream now is just as "cheesy". People who shit on it for that and similar reasons are probably tourists who said the same thing about stuff like American superheroes, anime, or Western children's cartoons before they became mainstream and only like them now because those things are all now considered "acceptable" to like. You shouldn't really value anything they say. Toku rules, don't let anyone make you believe otherwise.

I like Daitetsujin One Seven, Space Iron Man Kyodyne, the warrior of love Rainbowman, Diamond Eye, and the symbol of justice Condorman. I also like the live-action horror drama Kaiki Daisakusen. Also, Makai Tensho, which is currently being streamed on RUclips, uses a lot of Japanese special effects. If you get into these, you'll end up getting sucked into the swamp of Japanese period dramas, but I definitely recommend watching the Hissatsu series.
What would precure be in this instance, the (possibly adopted) baby sister? It’s an anime and not toku but it shares a lot of similarities with tokusatsu in terms of things like merchandising and even had a double movie feature with sentai once. Plus they all air at the same time block in Japan, so the average Japanese kid can watch all three in succession for an hour and a half.
@@kennychen4838 PreCure was created when Toei Animation's Saint Seiya and Sailor Moon time slots were moved to early Sunday mornings and were aimed at young girls, and the content is about multiple transforming heroines fighting like a Sentai team, so it's treated like a superhero time slot.
As someone also new to Ultraman, I would definitely recommend Shin Ultraman and Blazar. Blazar felt like the perfect season to get introduced to the series with.
I have been watching these kinds of shows ever since I got into Mighty Morphin Power Rangers until I found Kouryu Sentai Zyuranger from the Super Sentai series, which introduced me to the concept of mechas that I mostly find in various sci-fi action anime from different generations all the way from the Showa era to the present day of the 21st century. My personal favorite franchise of tokusatsu nowadays is the Kamen Rider series and my favorite entry is Kabuto, right now I have only finished the first half of both Double (W) & O’s (OOO), I hope to finish those soon in the near future.
Super cool video, but your bgm is a bit overpowering your voice and its a bit distracting to watch, otherwise its super cool to see more people talk about tokusatsu now :D
You know what? I'm waiting your new video about your favourites/Best sentai rider or whatever Next Year i think toei will promote his Sentai and Rider to worldwide more cuz they're need more money😂 In past this country doesn't care shit about west (they're just be like im sell the right and bye 🙋😂) In my country sentai and rider always on air late like 2 years gap. but right now they're start to on air like 1 years gap and next year will be a couple of week. Good for tokufan and i think they will do the same with worldwide soon. (Not every country but US must be next target consider to power rangers situation) Sorry for my bad English im from Thailand ❤
I'm sure most people would recommend Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, and Ultraman, so I'll introduce some lesser known special effects shows. Rescue Force and Rescue Fire from the Tomica Hero series,Super Star God Gransazer , Justiriser, the Phantom Star God, and Super Star Fleet Seizer X from the super star god series Also, the standalone Madan Senki Ryukendo are shows that were broadcast in the shadow of the Heisei Rider series.
I’ve been here for awhile ngl. Ghost would’ve been my first but drive cameo scared me off. Then 2017 came. Needless to say Amazon and Amazons are my favorites and have my bias. Wish I had the belt but man is it all expensive. I only ever got my first belt this year with gavv. Gochizos? More like gochi-broz
Honestly super sentai and kamen rider have lots of crossovers but we need more ultraman crossovers because I really love the crossover episodes of the ultra series shows what ticks me off is that they always talk smack the reddit users saying that we don't need crossovers no I want it to be a stand alone series no frick them we need more crossover episodes and movies
what if instead of godzilla being really bhig he had a really big belly and he rubbed it lots and he farted thank you for thinking about this pelkase make this into a movie idea bvubby
Yeah, never heard of it whatever. What's a Kamen rider? Is it like a genetically modified human by a cult based of the happies cult called Shocker? Just a wild guess, And what's an Ultraman? Is it like a god like alien that accidently killed a human and felt bad so he lent him his power and that human could like transform into that god? Idk it's a wild guess
The current western action movie fans have hype explosions when they see hand to hand fights in their things and act as if those are the best action things ever in history and insult everything toku.
So for the past 3 years I have streamed every new Kamen Rider series that comes out. From Revice to Gavv, and let me tell you when I say that my group has a semi mutual dislike for Geats! Not the show itself, not any of the other riders, Geats himself! It's honestly hilarious whenever he's on screen and I hear my friends just boo at him. In fairness i can see why they don't like him as he's got a real big ego and comes off as snobby. But those aren't the reasons why *I* don't like him. Anyway, just a fun lil tidbit i wanted to share.
Ace comes off as somewhat Gary Stu-ish and that combined with his personality, I could see why some people might not like him. He feels like a "decoy" protagonist, in the same way Tendou felt like one in Kabuto.
@allgoodnamestaken6002 yeah honestly that sounds about right. Whenever he finds himself in a situation Ace seems to get out of it without as much as a struggle.
The last thing we need is Western attention on toku. Superheroes, video games, and anime all have been ruined by western/Hollywood attention. We don't need more bloodshed
Uh...dude, the majority of superhero Toku shows are made for grade school children in Japan. There's some exceptions such as GARO, Godzilla, and some spinoff shows/movies, but they are just that-exceptions. Japan just has different standards for children's entertainment ratings.
I SWEAR TO GOD IF SOMEONE TELLS ME IVE NEVER HEARD OF SOMETHING THAT IM OBSESSED WITH ONE MORE TIME

Keep up the all-time work 👍💪
ONE OF US! ONE OF US! ONE OF US! ONE OF US!
Even godzilla needs a crossover movie I would love to see him work with like kamen rider or ultraman
The DOC been real quiet since this dropped.
Omg the guy that made the Arby's video is a fan of toku, that's insane
HE NEVER MADE THE ARBYS VIDEO
I have been watching these kinds of shows ever since I got into Mighty Morphin Power Rangers until I found Kouryu Sentai Zyuranger from the Super Sentai series, which introduced me to the concept of mechas that I mostly find in various sci-fi action anime from different generations all the way from the Showa era to the present day of the 21st century. My personal favorite franchise of tokusatsu nowadays is the Kamen Rider series and my favorite entry is Kabuto, right now I have only finished the first half of both Double (W) & O’s (OOO), I hope to finish those soon in the near future.
I've never even heard of this bubby guy
Watched Donbrothers recently as my first completed Sentai. Certainly is the BL of all time.
Really entertaining video lol
Well, that MOST people never heard of, anyway... (Looks at wall of Kamen Rider drivers)
Super cool video, but your bgm is a bit overpowering your voice and its a bit distracting to watch, otherwise its super cool to see more people talk about tokusatsu now :D
You know what?
I'm waiting your new video about your favourites/Best sentai rider or whatever
Next Year i think toei will promote his Sentai and Rider to worldwide more cuz they're need more money😂
In past this country doesn't care shit about west (they're just be like im sell the right and bye 🙋😂)
In my country sentai and rider always on air late like 2 years gap.
but right now they're start to on air like 1 years gap and next year will be a couple of week.
Good for tokufan and i think they will do the same with worldwide soon. (Not every country but US must be next target consider to power rangers situation)
Sorry for my bad English im from Thailand ❤
I'm sure most people would recommend Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, and Ultraman, so I'll introduce some lesser known special effects shows.
Rescue Force and Rescue Fire from the Tomica Hero series,Super Star God Gransazer , Justiriser, the Phantom Star God, and Super Star Fleet Seizer X from the super star god series
Also, the standalone Madan Senki Ryukendo are shows that were broadcast in the shadow of the Heisei Rider series.
I can’t believe I said knuckle-head mcspazatron and then 0.1 seconds later you also said it
i love ultraman and kamen rider
Obligatory algorithm pusher
Question bro, what's the difference from a
Geek
And a
Nerd?
Btw nice content.
Been a fan of tokusatsu since I was little kid.
you are so cool bubby
I mean, you could've told them that there are some seasons available for the west to buy or stream on.
Godzilla will always be my favorite
what if instead of godzilla being really bhig he had a really big belly and he rubbed it lots and he farted thank you for thinking about this pelkase make this into a movie idea bvubby
@@goundz I like where your head is at
Urutoraman
😊😊😊😊
cant believe bro didnt recommend ryuuki and faiz
Yeah, never heard of it whatever. What's a Kamen rider? Is it like a genetically modified human by a cult based of the happies cult called Shocker? Just a wild guess, And what's an Ultraman? Is it like a god like alien that accidently killed a human and felt bad so he lent him his power and that human could like transform into that god? Idk it's a wild guess
Ever Since Revice
i Love This Genre to The Deepest
Screw Power Rangers
This is a better Genre that even Solos Anime
The current western action movie fans have hype explosions when they see hand to hand fights in their things and act as if those are the best action things ever in history and insult everything toku.
Tokusatsu Is Awesome
How about 1958 gekko kamen and 1966 ambassador magma and 1974 robocon
Please talk about lost media 4kids Ultraman tiga English dub please
SHHHHHHH! Don't let people ruin tokusatsu for me.
The last thing we need is Western attention on toku. Superheroes, video games, and anime all have been ruined by western/Hollywood attention. We don't need more bloodshed
a new video
When will it stop?
Kamen rider ain't made for preschoolers it's ment for teenagers
Uh...dude, the majority of superhero Toku shows are made for grade school children in Japan. There's some exceptions such as GARO, Godzilla, and some spinoff shows/movies, but they are just that-exceptions.
Japan just has different standards for children's entertainment ratings.
