Hi Nanya, can I suggest after trimming off the spilt ends, start tucking your ends up. If you are looking to increase length you have to tuck away your ends. Invest in a few satin or silk scarves and scrunchies and tie your hair up. That should solve your issue. Try to do that consistently for a few months and you will see an improvement. I can recommend that to you because I have waist length hair, aiming for tailbone length and that’s what I did.

@@fireofmoonwiccan hiii✨, thank you so much for this🥰, I didn’t prioritize tucking my ends up

I’ll try to do that more often, even with the state of my new hair🤭,
      Thanks for sharing 💕

It's really nice you are addressing the issues and trying to find a solution. I started my hair growth journey 2021 and I'm almost at waist length currently. My honest opinion is, you reached a plateau stage. One thing no one addresses is , your routine would not be your routine forever. Let me break it down. When your hair is at shoulder length or bra strap, the best protective style could be twists. You could be leaving it for two weeks or a month/ 2, and your hair will thrive. But when your hair passes bra strap, the same twists that has been the grail would turn out to be the enemy. Now I'm not saying everyone experiences this but i know i did. Initially i did mini braids but overtime i noticed my hair started breaking alot as it got longer. I had to switch to twists( though i do not like them the tangles are too much lol) i had to find a way to make it work. Indigenous strandz once said something. Why a protective style might be working against you is because of the size. Mini twist causes tangles so i switched to much bigger twists which i retwist every two weeks. This was a game changer for me. My hair was more moisturized wasnt breaking off and it retained alot of length. You get my point? You might not like braids because they are not full like twists but you have a pretty face and nice skin tone. Adding some beads and accessories would look so chic on you💯
Either tweak your protective twists or you give other styles( not harmful tight braids ) a try. Maybe that might be your ticket out of Plateau stage just like mine
Also try to tweak your routine👍🏾
Like i said hair routine doesnt remain like that forever. You keep tweaking.
Overall hair care,be gentle with your hair. If you break it off you won't retain length. Eat well, try to exercise, and then see if you are deficient in any vitamin which i doubt. This obviously looks like a plateau based on change of ur hair's preference. Meanwhile people do not believe in oils lol but i do. Please do try Ayurvedic oils ,not water now. Massage it on your scalp only when its warm and especially at night before you go to bed. The indians have been doing this for generations now so why shouldnt i do it😂
Also tuck your ends away more than you let it out if you want to retain length.
I dont know if this might be of any help but i hope you know the reasons are not far from you. Think about it, if you loc your hair up, it will still grow. So think about what might be causing the stagnantion?
You should also check out some RUclipsrs (def not cyndoll)
    Watch people like ÷
Indigenous strands, chazzizawesome, isimeme edeko, jen jackson, divine ofomaja and so many more. They have very lovely personalities and you can learn alot and also try to implement some methods.
Alright think i have said enough😅. Good luck 💕

I feel your pain, my hair is stagnant too because whatever growth I get is trimmed of because of slipt ends.. relaxer is never an option but I've considered being like a blow out natural but honestly I'm too lazy for that and I would need a less damaging tool like a rev air or something..I need to just be a big girl and cut a few inches and start over

I feel this! Just last Sunday night, I was like f*ck everything and ended up cutting all of my hair off (big chop). I was just over my hair and wanted to start all over. NGL, my mood this week has been so much BETTER! I didn't realize how much stress that hair was putting on me. Literally sitting here with a shower cap on now just deep conditioning my hair.

@@NanyaNduka same, I trim it myself too a nd I think its part of the problem yes but I also don't have access to good salons. Last year I tried one (in Senegal) and I kid you not, they gathered my hair in four directions and evened it (like put all of my hair to the front, even it, put all of it to the right then even it, and so on). And my hair got so much worse after that...

I'm sorry you had to go through that and I'm glad you still love your natural hair. I understand hair care can be overwhelming at times. That's why it's important to simplify your routine. Start with little hair care practices you can be consistent with and soon you'd see how far you've come. In the aspect of protective styling, you can try braids and see if it will work out for you. It really helped me retain length. Good luck! 🌸

I just started watching a RUclipsr that’s a hair scientist.
She explains EVERYTHING about our natural hair and what we should be actually doing.
A lot of naturals are struggling and her channel literally opened my eyes so much. I feel like I actually KNOW what to do with my hair now.
    Her channel is called CynDoll.

      Don't!
      Trust me
U know those kind of RUclipsrs that kinda lowkey spread a negative vibe? Yeah that's how she is. She doesn't deal with natural hair care. She was a silk press stylist. If you want to take advice watch people with the same texture as you and people that actually have receipts(ie they have tried what they are saying and grown their hair!) not merely talking without proof( your own hair is even longer and better looking than hers)
Will make a single comment not under this reply what I think you should do.
