James Houston having a quietly great season as a complimentary rusher to Sweat. He’s also been sneaky good defending the run and not getting blown off the ball/losing the edge like a certain draft pick that shall not be named
If you want to focus on winning in the future, you play Westbrook and hope he'll figure out how to buff out his many, many kinks in the timeframe Madden allows him to properly develop within. If you want to focus on winning RIGHT NOW, you play Jones and hope his comparatively more precise acumen can compensate for the lower upside. As it stands, these Saints were built for someone to come under center and get the job done NOW; thus far, Jones has risen to the occasion - or, at least, not undermined it - in a way Westbrook's all but refusing to. That's my (probably fundamentally broken) way of breaking it down, at least.
I think this is these last three games have shown that the only thing the Offense was missing was consistency. Jones helps to play complimentary football that lets the Defense look better as well. Best chance for the Saints to make a deep playoff run!
This episode had everything. A safety, a fake field goal where the kicker throws a TD, a punt return for a TD and im not even finished with the video. Im expecting a pick 6 bare minimum
Who would of ever figured that Mac Jones being brought over would be the key to success. If I was Mayweather or Westbrook or even a certain team in New England, I'd be pissed. Great double wins here.
This was an awesome episode cane! I love how the defense played, and how the games flowed. It felt genuinely so realistic. I am so excited for more!!! Watching this series gets me excited like im 12 years old again. I'm 20 now lol
While we're on the subject, what's your appraisal of ol' Johnny Thunder on the whole? My gut tells me I haven't said his name as much as I'd hoped, but he could just as easily be passing the eye test while I'm not quite looking at him.
The difference between Mac Jones and Westbrook is insane. Westbrook struggles to throw everywhere while Mac Jones does nothing really spectacularly he just throws it accurately short. Solid medium and will hit routine deep balls. Westbrook will not hit routine deep balls. Will not do well in the intermediate and sucks under pressure/short .
Gotta love that almost every week your team plays on Thursday Night, Sunday Night or MNF. Whether you win 15 games or 2 it doesn't matter to Madden devs 👍
I'm gonna guess Jacoby Pearman has 23 career touchdowns: 2 punt return 3 kick return 17 receiving 1 rushing Edit: Saw you said this was the second punt return TD in his career.
I mean, love to see this defense gel and special teams make splash plays, but it’s hard to confident in this team doing anything in the postseason with Mac Jones. In 3 games he only has 2 TDS and 3 INT and the touchdown today was all due to the skill of Blackwell, nothing to do with what Jones did. When it comes to playoff time, it’s tough to trust your defense and special teams to bail you out every week. Also Pearman probably has 16 total TDs in his career
I think it would be cool to do more 2 game stretches through the summer since madden is wrapping up. U could def get through an extra season doing that
Whenb you threw that curl, I was saying Square and then saw you throw to the other side not seeing the defender leaking over there. It was sad face time.
Name me a better trade in any Cane series than for Mac Jones. He has made the Saints great again. I am now convinced they will win out all the way through the Super Bowl.
i’ll say, i don’t understand the team’s success fully. mac jones has way more ints than tds, but the team just wins. crazy how those small plays really WERE the difference in this offense, but imagine if we had a qb with the skills of both westbrook and mac jones put together. imagine some nba-like offseason moves, mac jones and blake westbrook for firsts, then those firsts for a top 5-10 quarterback who is on a losing team/on an expiring deal/the team has a rookie at least semi-ready to start. the storyline of houston hating cj stroud could come full circle 😭
@@CadChamberlain He's 3-0 as the starter. The Saints were 4-4 before he became the starter. Correlation alone says he has *something* to do with it. Turns out when the QB isn't spraying the ball all over the field the Saints are pretty good.
The D wasn't playing like this until Mac's next-level leadership inspired them. No other Saints QB in this series made their teammates better like this! Haters gonna hate.
Still don't trust Jones - one bad game, one so-so, another bad. Jones can't throw it away & takes sacks. Westbrook (while inaccurate) got rid of the ball. With Mac, you've won - but only on running & defense. (Tomlinson is getting good, but Fenderson still sucks.) The Mac Jones offense gets FGs - sometimes - but TDs are rare as hen's teeth... and his INTs are at least as bad as Westbrook's missed passes [and Mac Jones DOES miss too!] . You STILL need a real answer at QB... NICE fake-FG... but gutless to set up for it. ((And where the _heck_ has Blackwell been??)) - Keen to see what happens(!!) and Cheers (PS - Like the presentation... I'll guess Pearman has 11 TDs, all told... but please say how many Olave/Blackwell/Roby have too!)
Hating on Cane for finally turning this series around is just so sad. I sincerely hope your life improves so you won't be this miserable much longer. But in order for that to happen you must take responsibility for your feelings instead of playing the victim card and blaming everyone else.
@@DolFan316 ARE YOU DELUSIONAL?? Please seek HELP soon! I said nothing aginst "Cane", only argued Mac is hard to see "over" Westbrook.. A truly wild take, every time he’s entered the game he’s been just as bad as Westbrook was. Mac Jones is playing the perfect football for this team, and Mayweather never has been the answer. I’d sooner watch Groupe play QB.
Day 35 of asking cane to finish the madden 18 bears franchise and get them a Super Bowl. Even if it’s a sim… I can’t give up🙏. Also, cane one of few RUclipsrs who’s series I rewatch💯
the over the shoulder throw to Grupe for the fake FG TD was the best throw Westbrook would make all season.
I'm really liking these combined episodes, even with these games meaning more late in the season. Also, that fake FG TD was a thing of beauty
That Mac Jones dive 8 yards short was beautiful
With a wide open receiver on the left
That’s a Jameis Winston type of play
So close 😂
Classic cane lmaooo
🤣🤣🤣

It's actually so apropos for the 2020s though when you think about it.

Chad Binns (FS) and Johnny Fenderson (SS) the future dynamic safety duo !!!
Who would've thought that Jacoby Pearman would look best with Mac Jones at QB?? That connection has been stellar
Mac is a pretty good QB.... in Madden.
I got him several MVPs in my Pats franchise. Though this was before his rating took a nosedive.
2 punt return
2 kickoff return
3 rushing
11 receiving?
But can he throw the ball??…check his rating!! 😂
Two games!? Oh cane, you spoil us
BREAKING: none of Brian westbrooks teammates attended his birthday party

“Vontae Mack, no matter what”
I like this format alot more for this series at this stage! Can maybe get 2 more seasons out of it like this.
I think this is these last three games have shown that the only thing the Offense was missing was consistency. Jones helps to play complimentary football that lets the Defense look better as well. Best chance for the Saints to make a deep playoff run!
I believe… that you make great content man. Great episode, keep trusting your gut.
1:46 Jones doing his best Chase Garbers impression lol.
The format is perfect. It's great to see the Saints trying to reach their potential since a much more precise QB is at the helm!
This episode had everything. A safety, a fake field goal where the kicker throws a TD, a punt return for a TD and im not even finished with the video. Im expecting a pick 6 bare minimum
The Saints have the best special teams units EVER!!!
Jones is looking like a really good pick up for the Saints.
The Saints scored the most normal 21 points of all time.
What a difference having a QB that can make simple throws makes. The D is doing well when you dont have TO's. Sweat man, what a signing.
cane, your commentary is amazing. love the vids
"We're playing as a Team, I'm just not used to that in the series." Best Comment made in game then throws the Interception. Simply amazing. 🙂
imagine nate bell and tomlinson on the same defense...
How’s ROWE doing at Center in…NY lol?
Looks like we might get to see him in person next video?
LFG!! Great two game performance WE BELIEVE!
“ and he dives a little short” 6 yards away from the first 😂

You know things are going well when Johnny Freaking Fenderson gets a pick. He was on that Ty Zimmerman career path.

I think a free agent qb might be the move this offseason
Only if he's going to be Mac "The Man" Jones's backup. 😎
Love the multi game episodes!
Thanks ..love the series
Hey Cane, just a heads up this video isn't in the series playlist. I'm catching up now and had to go find this one separately
My Jacoby pear man TD counter guess is 9; counting preseason is 14
That rookie preseason tear was so memorable 😮💨

OH MY GOD WHAT A GAME
Name me a better trade in any Cane series than for Mac Jones. He has made the Saints great again. I am now convinced they will win out all the way through the Super Bowl.
My geuss on peerman touchdowns is gonna be 17. 2 punt returns, 3 kick returns, and 12 on offense
ima say pearman has 23 total TD, 3 kickoff, 2 punt return and 1 rushing td.
My guesstimate is 18 touchdowns for Pearman
I say 14-16 touchdowns for pearman.
Westbrook cam be traded in the offseason for a nice haul.
I owe Cane an apology. It wasn't the sliders fault but the throw ratings of Westbrook.
I feel like Pearman has a lot of TDs for a guy that doesn’t score a ton of offense, so it’s gotta be like 18 or something
63 pass attempts in a game is wild
Cane is a QB career killer
Is anyone else thinking about wildes from first thing first? I associate them together now all the time.
I believe in Joe Hendr- I mean the New Orleans Saints

A redemption story for Mac Jones?
Olave gets +1 speed 👀
why does it seem like every bad throw or incomplete pass is towards Jacoby Pearman
mac jones. hilarious. 2 game episodes work great!
that bounty gate defense is back!
Jacoby Pearman 2 point returns 2 kick off returns 4 rushing TD 12 WR TD is my guess
my guess is Jacoby Pearman has 24 touchdowns. just a random number that seems correct lol
Is Mac Jones... good?
I think about 19 touchdowns for Pearman?
Can I know the accelerated play clock 👏🏽
im guessing 28 for jacoby
I’d say Pearman probably has about 24 TDs
How is Jimmy Ward not on Superstar dev?
I stopped watching at the end of Season 1, seems this is a rough franchise for Cane surprised to still see him rebuilding this team in season 5
Mac Jones needs to not be wearing 14 14 is for bad qbs
Juan Beard shoupd be starting over James Houston

Let’s go!
Let's go YOU for being first! 🤘🤘🤘
mac jones we failed you in new england i love mac jones

Getting Mac Jones was a very lateral move. He doesnt do anything that your other 2 QBs can do.
Except win. And inspire the D to play better knowing they won't have to constantly defend short fields thanks to QB ineptitude.
