One of the episodes from the brief time they had a rule that prohibited contestants from picking the same panelist twice in a row. Essentially a pre-Star Wheel attempt at getting fans to stop picking Richard Dawson all the time.
That wouldn't always work since some contestants chose their own answers but I guess in that case you'd be free to pick any celebrity of your choosing.
I said that way for brevity. The longer version is you can't choose a celebrity whose answer you rejected. IOW, if you go on your own, you have to play with one of the other three celebs.
I like that answer. I'm so SICK of them picking Richard all the time (even when Brett gives the better answers most of the time, they STILL pick Richard)
What the hell are 'smoke rings'? I'd get booed here 'smoke stack' 'smoke screen' 'smoke detector'...what the hell is a smoke ring? Yet I'm so happy she matched with Brett. But really what the Fk is a smoke ring?
I love how nice Brett is to the winner.
No, of course not, but some of the panelists are kind of dismissive.
I watched this show growing up. The last few years watching reruns. Don't remember not allowing a contestant call on a Celebrity twice in a row.
Best year of my life.
Cool effect for '75 having the $5,000 flashing over them all like that!
Love Charles: "6 great actors and no one comes up with box office" ;)
This aired on my twelfth birthday!
This must've been the debut of the new jackpot board.
I thought they had the jackpot board with the '73 episodes. I always remember it being below them as they stood off to the side.
Dan Barker Match Game PM started around this timeframe, hence you will notice the difference. Slight space for the number one after the dollar sign.

The rule wasn't as strict as I'd remembered. I thought you had to choose a new celeb each time.

The lady at 5:13 did not do an exact match. The contestant said RING and Brett said RINGS.
Re calling on same celeb for big money:I think it was a financial decision by the producers to limit payouts to contestants.
RIGHT _____________. That had too many possibilities. TURN, ANSWER, FOOT, HAND, and OR WRONG were what I thought of. What else?
Right on
Delight also played some parts on TV in the late 1970s (including Happy Days): www.imdb.com/name/nm0207636/
Who the FK has never heard of a smoke ring!?
Something you make when you smoke a cigarette
We are being good
Patti must be about due to have that baby

Please tell me you're not serious. Who doesn't know what smoke rings are?
