Well done James on another brilliant video, very thoughtful idea about the tractors for the children to win one. It was surprising to see the difference in the drills and the crop establishment .
Great video James and a awesome idea for the children to write poems, and win a great model of a Fendt and the details on the new models is incredible,to what I had when I was a youngest, and there’s quite a difference in the different seeders and stands out even more, with it being on one field and looking forward,to the next update if Michael can be bothered and get wet 😂👍👍
That really was a fantastic poem by that young lad......it really, really was! 👌 Anyway.....good to see you're still a 'carpet farmer' at heart there Mr Peck? 👍 'Carpet farmers' never die......😉
Ordered one of each… one for my grandson and one for me. I’m no longer directly in farming but I have a bit of land and a few classics. Great channel and continue to keep the government honest 👍
Another great update James. Interesting to hear you talking about the new houses you are building. That's good for your employees having a nice home and another asset on the farm. I really liked the talk and drone footage of the drilling, you will be explaining CTF to Michael afterwards. Lovely poem written, great idea for the competition, I guess like me you grew up with the Britain's line up of farm machinery, I still have mine from the late 70's and 80's.
Nice to hear Tim Carter has been to see you about agrifac sprayers, You wont be disappointed went for a tour of factory start of this year well worth a visit!
Great update as always, it will be very interesting to see weed control behind the avatar due to the wider spacings, cannot wait for the next update James keep up the great work.
Timber frames are good system James, 2 things to get right. Make sure the sole plates are bang on level and the dpm\dpc's are correctly done you don't want anything rotting out. Good luck on the build program.
Its fantastic to see a farmer building housing for their staff. One place i worked had enough housing for 10x more than their staff, but they wanted the staff in caravans.
@JamesMartin-f8n if you have had a house for years so you are at a point where you can retire you have done well. I'm living in a drafty caravan living on my half brothers dad's land where I can't even put up a fance to separate the farm from where I live and I'm paying several hundreds a month and I own the caravan
Not everyone can do it but i known a couple of workers that lived in tied houses during their working lives but bought a house/ bungalow elsewhere and let the property which covered the mortgage at the time. It gave them excellent house security for their retirement..@JamesMartin-f8n
@@oliverelliott4453@oliverelliott4453 I would not stand for that, Oliver. Not me, Oliver, but my uncle and late father. My Father worked on a farm for 54 years, and my uncle for around 45 years. We have done ok with my rent/mum. But my uncle is paying £995.00 per month. The old metal-framed windows are still used for a three-bedroom house with no double glazing, and there is no central heating. Apart from a Rayburn in the kitchen only. So I would say never take a farm cottage or anything like that with a farm job.
Great Video James. So good to see new accomodation for workers. Having watched a disappointed friend having to walk away from a dream job as renting was to expensive. James, how is the pigeon problem this year? very bad along with slugs down here in Hampshire.
Great info if you go to avatar look into the wheel as the spokes or grooves in them in damp conditions there is a option on a different wheel that runs better in the damp hope that helps james, all the best
James, there's a big focus on mental health within the rural sector's currently. firstly where does your drive/enthusiasm to optimise everything the way you do and tackle everything head on come from. And secondly How do you mentally sustain/manage that level of enthusiasm for what you do. Are there ever gloomy days when you don't want to be there.
1st class video once again. Seeing as cousin Michael can't get wet, will you be videoing the handing over of his Christmas present ( A PX umbrella ) lol. Nothing new in a builders merchant supplying quantities from drawings, Keyline / Travis Perkins did mine 15 years ago. Found Jewson to be too expensive and of course Jewson is not a British company, French and now Danish apparently.
Good advice about a will. I am a sheep farmer in leixlip, Ireland ,on the family farm ,and the family accountant is holding three generations to ransom for his own personal financial gains, Shocking white collar crime in this day and age
May I suggest that if a young person writes the poems, that they could be placed on the trucks/trailers to tractors, for the year? To show how much farming means to people.
Hi James great video as per usual, you still haven’t answered the question if your looking for experienced or none experienced to employ for the job role. Cheers Alex
I got shafted on my dad's will he apparently didn't have even tho I brought him out my uncle gave sister half my cash he died in fight with neighbour over drainage he told me he had life insurance because of the amount of fights he had malicious Intent something like that uncle couldn't find took deal with landagents behind my back...I lost the farm
Under this governments proposals you building more houses although is the right thing to do, is only going to create a bigger problem for your Children. How we have ended up with this clueless government is a very worrying for the future of Britain
If you have 3 FENDT 942s you must be doing something right! 942s are about. $400,000. dollar machines! I would give my left arm for one FENDT 942 tractor!! …😁…LOL!

100 ferrets it would be good to have a look on your next video at how they are all housed ie in hutches or kept in big ferret sheds.

@NealHallybone it's got to be one hell of a setup.
I love going out with the rifle but I will admit I can't keep with that

Seeding with discs works fantastic for us, much better establishment in wet land

Just gone in abit deeper behind the sprinter- I’d have that out a little. I’m not convinced 5” Dutch are the way forward as they give so much boil.
Maybe put age range on poem just in case there’s a Del Boy and Rodney watching.
James, could drill depth be a factor for establishment rather than drill system type ?.
Staff Quarters Suggestion: From the outset as Budget/Space allows - Put in a couple of Garden Beds for Veg & a few Fruit Trees 🥒🍅 🌲. Will pay off.
James, also worth while have Power O health and welfare ... very important. Great Video as always hope the young Callum fulfill his dreams.
James on the model front I think a model of an FH Volvo & bulk trailer PX"d
Do you have battery storage for solar panels?
To add beer in mid them, two tractor models are for 14+ years.
Do any of the farmers you farm for have shoots, and if so does that have any implications for you, or do you drill the cover crops for them 👍🍺
Great video James 😅

All the 942 are sold out! Are you planning a second run?
I believe Tom is organising more,
@@PX_Farms Superb! Bound to be a future classic!
1 left, be quick

Might need to change those passwords that were on the whiteboard during the last section of the video
"roses are red, violets are blue, I want a model but I am far too old to compete with the children!"!
i would,nt rely on jewsons theve just shut 4 depots 2 in northampton, wellingborough & blecthley
I would listen to your builder rather than the merchant, especially Jewson.

Experienced as it’s a lead role

I have never had a positive experience with Jewsons. Absolutely terrible company to deal with.
That made me laugh and I,m not doubting you : )
Let’s see how we get one, hopefully well
