part of me wants to come down for a day and show you some simple repairs on that Semi truck that you as owner/operators are totally capable of doing on your own.
Laura and Grant, IMO, there are many reasons your vlogs stand out from other farm vlogs. We actually get to see you two working, discussing and figuring things out. You let know why you do things today and how it prepares you for what’s to come. We also get to see how you genuinely care for one another and how well you work together. You guys are educational and most enjoyable.
Change the tires for planting. Compaction and balancing the planter will be more dificult when the soil is a bit wet and sticky Do what you can to make all the rows are being planted with the same soil conditions.
Put the tires on that will fit in the rows since you'll have to put them on later, thereby saving lots of time later changing them when you may have more important things to do.
just found you two, glad i did, i was watching Farm wife and found you two there, so glad i did. you guy`s are great to watch, clean and fun. not everyday you watch something without cursing on it. this is so refreshing. May God Bless you two
My wife and I use wireless headsets on our boat to talk while docking and anchoring. Looks like you have a lot of situations where you might find them helpful. (like moving the shed or lifting the pivot sections). Love the videos - please keep them coming. I share them with a lot of friends.
My husband said " it would be best to put the skinny planting tires back on since you are going to need them back on anyway, it could save a bit of time when you are going to be busy ". He also wondered if a spoke type closing wheel would work better in your type of land, they have some good ones on the market now . Just saying, you will figure it out you guys are young and smart and know what will work best for you . Always enjoy your videos !!
I keep a strap style oil filter wrench in the kitchen utensil drawer ...the PERFECT jar opener strap that lid, give a little tug .... honey can open her own pickle jars now
Thank you. Your channel helps provide some perspective on life in general. With everything going on in the world, crops still have to be grown. Life still goes on. You both are amazing. This is the American spirit. God bless you and all your family!
Any Time I get a notification Laura posted A video I can't wait until I get the time to watch the Video just Because I Thourly Enjoy Watching Laura And Grant. Laura Always posts Great Content!! Keep Smiling On!! 😀👍👊❤
We want to see the oil changes please!!!!!! Even a Mower and a 4wheeler are fun to see. Scottie is the best Shop Manager! Did you see him guide Grant out of the yard in the Big Rig!!!!!!!?
Thanks for a clenching look at pulling sheds around...lol!! A good vid all around...n good to see " Mr. Scotty", on patrol..you haven't screamed on camera in a while, Laura...so I guess he's earning his keep?? Thanks for sharing!! C ya on the next video!! 👍🐺🧙♂️🦊👍
I call those round things to help get stuff unscrewed "serpentine belts". Although I know they are used in motors for things. That's just what I was told growing up. Not sure if that resonates to what your area calls it but in Ontario Canada that is what I used and was taught. Love seeing the big machinery, so does my son. If your changing oil on anything please shoot a video. Why not.
The open end of the strap wrench accepts a half inch ratchet or breaker bar. Slip the band around the filter canister and rotate the square bar until the strap is tight, then you can twist the filter off using the wrench or breaker bar.
Seems as though the bigger tires will give you better traction as well as lower the contact weight per square inch being a little easier on the farm ground but I’m not a professional farmer and only base my choice on what I know about tires.
I was laughing watching you two changing those oil filters on the big rig. I'm happy to see that people are smart enough to send you two the right tools , spanning wrenches. Have a nice day you two.
Hi Laura & Grant , Rod from the land of Aus. Roll the strap wrench so that the strap tightens on the filter, then use 1/2 inch Rachet to undo filter. Love your vids being a city boy it great to see how farmers work. Luv yuoal.
My thoughts are that if you leave those tires on you're going to find you have a compaction issue right where that tire runs we always seem to be able to see if we run down a cornrow with a tire a difference in the stand
I liked my Toro also, i had a 06 LX500 garden tractor. It was destroyed on 12/27/21 when my shop burned to the ground. I was waiting to hear a crunch of a barn door. Good job Laura.
Think about what you're doing to the planter units that have to run in that tire lug track if you plant with the wider tires. Also the in-row compaction with the tire pressure needed with a heavy tractor plus the weight of the fertilizer tanks. With a pull type planter and no extra weight on the tractor, maybe.
Oil Filter strap wrench's work good install it on the filter in the direction to take the filter off up at the top of the filter put a 1/2 " breaker bar or ratchet on the end and your good to go .
I support you guys is it was not for farmers we would not be eating you guys put in long hours and you jump in to all the jobs and get them done I love watching all your videos you guys work hard and play harder I miss working on a farm
Those strap filter wrenches are fantastic and they work on any size filter. Connect it to an extender on a 1/2" ratchet, put the strap around the filter and start turning. The strap will just keep tightening down on the filter without crushing it until it's tight enough to loosen the filter.
Just had my own battle with the hydraulic filter on my tractor. I ended up using two standard filter wrenches next to each other and a piece of pipe larger enough to accept both handles. Still took some grunt but got it done. I am now on the lookout for that darned filter goblin that sneaks in my shop and over tightens my filters!
I've stripped out the square ratchet hole on those metal band filter wrenches on stuck filters, BUT for the most part they work great. You have 2 of them so you could use both on bad filters.
Whoever sent you the wide band type that you put a 1/2 ratchet on must be a truck/tractor mechanic cuz those are the shizniz and exactly what you need.
Hey lura farms I found a wash soap for your tractors to get wash and it’s a soap that’s it’s completely touchless, and it won’t leave dirt on your car tractors, and you don’t need a scrubber. It’s called Chem-X stars and stripes. And I recommend it so after you finish washing in the tractor dries up and there’s no dirt left on the tractor no scrubbing required to check out the stars and stripes by Chem-X
Pretty sure that the sidewalls on those LSWs would be greatly fatigued by that 3pt load and may fail prematurely! Don't know the operational parameters, but at current inflation, way to much sidewall movement I'm thinking. Have a great day!
Hi Laura & Grant! Thanks for sharing, as for the planter tractor tires, I would think the better option is the two narrow tires instead of the big fat ones, but since those tires are in front of the planter, maybe the planter can fixe the row as it plants? I am not farmer, but those are my thoughts. Ken
If you can stand the weight, Yetter Devastators do an awesome job on those stalks! They just explode the stalks and lay them right over. I'm converting my other head to them from Stalk Stompers right now. The difference is not even close! Little heavy on my folding head, but so worth it! I'd go ahead and change those tires back.
The strap oil filter should take a half inch drive break over bar but I will give you a heads up they can crunch a oil filter if it is tight like on your semi. Thanks for the video
Trick to that close call is to turn the vehicle towards the building. That kicks the long boom away from the building if you do it soon enough eh It’s all in pivot point physics eh👍🏻🖖🏻
Those Schlagel closers work AMAZING in mud. Set your down pressure down. Best closing wheels on the market. Also if you need to change the wheels and tires you didn't need to spend the money on the lsw's. Unless someone gave them to you
HI 👋 Laura Wilson and Grant Wilson behind the camera 📷.
Good morning ❤🎉
You guys, along with all the other farmers are so appreciated!
Welcome back
LAURA, AND GRANT, THANKS FOR NEW VIDEO 📸.
You still go beautiful girl because you can do anything you set your mind too. I still believe in you
part of me wants to come down for a day and show you some simple repairs on that Semi truck that you as owner/operators are totally capable of doing on your own.
Beautiful Laura....
Grant is a legend and full of knowledge.
We support farmers! Young farmers like you and Grant are the future for all of us!
Damn straight. We all need farmers
Love Laura Farms video's 👁️❤️👁️❤️👁️❤️👁️❤️👁️❤️👁️❤️👁️
Beautiful smile and another great video
Good job viewers on sending the filter wrenches.
I love the look of the big tires on the tractor, but small tires for planting. Great videos.
Holy crap,Scotty is huge!
Laura and Grant,
IMO, there are many reasons your vlogs stand out from other farm vlogs. We actually get to see you two working, discussing and figuring things out. You let know why you do things today and how it prepares you for what’s to come. We also get to see how you genuinely care for one another and how well you work together.
You guys are educational and most enjoyable.
Indeed, 👍🐺🧙♂️🦊👍!!
Well said! 👊
And it’s clear they respect each others knowledge and skills!
Have a block heater put in! It will help when it's cold to make it easier to start!
Change the tires for planting. Compaction and balancing the planter will be more dificult when the soil is a bit wet and sticky
Do what you can to make all the rows are being planted with the same soil conditions.
Famous camera shot! Grant's Ford on the rack. That's what a Ford does. Gets racked up. Laura's Ram? She got ramming the work out of it,
Fat tires on the tractor for planting season!!!!😎😎
Put the tires on that will fit in the rows since you'll have to put them on later, thereby saving lots of time later changing them when you may have more important things to do.
Totally agree do it now then when it's down time instead of when in a hurry
Yer planter doesn't look too heavy so traction shouldn't be a problem
One vote for going ahead and changing the tires.
Keep the Magic People! And more rescue Dogs! Get on it!
11 hours, 70, 665 views. No, we aren't just sitting around, either, but "Wow", these videos!
God I Love you Laura when you get techy.
Scotty is running the barns....🐈
Like that truck it looks the go
The row cleaners I like so far are my by precision. Reveal. Mounted on the bar. Separate from row unit.
Wow you have some nice equipment
Another tip when changing the oil, always fill the filters with clean oil when you install them. Your engine will love you for it.
There are beautiful emeralds and then there are Laura's eyes.

Great video!
As a non-farmer, I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate you guys for being farmers.
Grant, it is NEVER "I", it's always "We". Laura doesn't miss anything. Great video, thank you!🇺🇸
Talking about working on planters, is a sign of the new season is getting closer.
Love from Mike. ❤
Awesome 👌
Hi Laura
I like your farm

Clean sweep by Precision Planting is best addition I ever made to a planter!!!
Great seeing you guys work so well together.
Bobcat with forks is how I move them all the time

Thank you. Your channel helps provide some perspective on life in general. With everything going on in the world, crops still have to be grown. Life still goes on. You both are amazing. This is the American spirit. God bless you and all your family!
Those stap filter wrenches work great , !!! I have one from Deere had for years !!
Keep the tires!!!
If you have to change, you have to change in the right time.
Using the big tires look real cool, and using the right tires looks way cooler.
There's Scotty, Hey Scotty!!!!
Laura those seat belt type strap oil filter undoers are awesome!!!!!
look at our Yetter 2940 air adjust row cleaners it is a very popular system with dial adjustable pressure in both the up and down pressure.
Any Time I get a notification Laura posted A video I can't wait until I get the time to watch the Video just Because I Thourly Enjoy Watching Laura And Grant. Laura Always posts Great Content!!

Hey, there, Laura. Hey cutie.
I saw someone that looks just like Grant in my neck of the woods. I almost wanted to get an autograph. Keep up the good work everyone !!!!!
Clean sweeps are probably your answer Grant...talked with ya both at Husker...we added Them to our 2 planters and they're pretty slick
Time flies by when you are busy, busy, busy...... which you are......
Scotty is not happy ! 😂

The strap wrench is nice and compact and you put the 1/2 inch drive in the square tube
2 degrees...here on the Sierra's backslope.......brrrr... bundle up.....nice to see you guys... even in this weather... thanx2much for the vid........
Hi Laura & Grant , Rod from the land of Aus. Roll the strap wrench so that the strap tightens on the filter, then use 1/2 inch Rachet to undo filter.

Great video. The wide tires help prevent compaction, so I think they should stay on for seeding.
Those strap filter wrenches are fantastic and they work on any size filter. Connect it to an extender on a 1/2" ratchet, put the strap around the filter and start turning. The strap will just keep tightening down on the filter without crushing it until it's tight enough to loosen the filter.

Good afternoon Laura how are you your farms and very Nice
Ģood moring lura
I can fix all those seals and bearings.
The heater too.
I've stripped out the square ratchet hole on those metal band filter wrenches on stuck filters, BUT for the most part they work great. You have 2 of them so you could use both on bad filters.
It would be nice to have a Laura Farms calendar with Scottie as the lead :)
Whoever sent you the wide band type that you put a 1/2 ratchet on must be a truck/tractor mechanic cuz those are the shizniz and exactly what you need.
I'd go small tires for planting. Thanks for the videos; I always like watching them.

Since you have the duals, put ‘em on and be ready to plant! Before harvest you can put the oversized tires back on.
As mark said below when doing oil changes make sure you put a bit of new oil in new filter you do not want a dry start!!!!!
Longer videos plz….😇😜
The strap oil filter should take a half inch drive break over bar but I will give you a heads up they can crunch a oil filter if it is tight like on your semi. Thanks for the video
Trick to that close call is to turn the vehicle towards the building. That kicks the long boom away from the building if you do it soon enough eh It’s all in pivot point physics eh👍🏻🖖🏻
Low tire on the right rear at :42.
Good morning Laura & Grant, if you had aboat 6 fence posts and put them down each side, your big building would roll like a toboggan
Those Schlagel closers work AMAZING in mud. Set your down pressure down. Best closing wheels on the market.
Also if you need to change the wheels and tires you didn't need to spend the money on the lsw's. Unless someone gave them to you
As always another great video from you guys !
