- Putting the SVS Prime Satellite speaker ($400/pr with gloss finish) against my favorite small speaker - the Micca OoO ($100/pr). Does 4x the money give you 4x the sound quality? In short, no….but there is more to the story.
Factory outlet is the way to go, especially during a sale. I got 33% off a pair of Ultra bookshelves during the President's Day sale. One has a tiny scratch on the top only visible in reflected light, and the other is fine. It was a return- found the RMA in the box.
I got SVS prime elevation for $200 for both, neither speaker had any issues or cosmetic issues!
Nice review 👍👌❤
Ive got them a few weeks ago with klipsch 12" sub (5.1.2 setup) Love these svs primes ❤ Really nice!! And indeed they look amazing...
Great review! I have a very small room and I can't accommodate traditional bookshelf speakers. I am looking for great sound when watching TV and when playing music. I wanted to run SVS satellites for L and R front speakers, with an SVS Prime center channel and an SB 1000 sub. Do you think that would work or should I be looking for a different solution?
I think that would work. You can also buy an additional satellite to use as a center channel speaker if you don't want to spend the extra $200 for the Prime center. The downside is that satellite is a little bit taller.
Just FYI, I got better low tones out of very cheap Audiosource LS-200 speakers. I have a rant about these Sattelite speakers I am happy to share.
Yep, their bass is lacking.
Great review!
Ok so would they be good for front mains plus a subwoofer for movies?
Yes; that’s exactly how I normally use them.
Cool review!!!
My useless input today is about the pronunciation of Micca. Everyone says it like Mike-a but surely if it has two "c"s in it it should be like mick-a!!??!!
Peace ❤
There are a lot of brands that are non-phonetically pronounced so I wouldn't conclude that from spelling alone. I think Zeos and other reviewers have spoken to Micca reps and yet they still call its Mika-a, so I assume that's correct.
Could you use these as height speakers ontop of fronts linked upto svs sb1000 sub?
In theory, if the speakers were high enough. YMMV
how would these be for surrounds?
They'd work great for most; there is a keyhole mount in the back. While small they are very dense and thus heavy, so I'd recommend mounting to a stud rather than drywall.
You sound so confused, make up your mind. either they are good or bad cannot confuse others.
